The Fast Food Burger Poll
 

As a spinoff from the Culver's thread, here's a poll about fast food burger joints. I'm putting up the normal poll for all you lazy asses out there, but it really makes more sense to rate them all individually rather than just picking your favorite (since favorites will largely depend on what places you've actually tried). Because of that, here's a slightly more in-depth poll that I'll report on the results of in a few days.

Double Western Bacon cheeseburger from Carls Jr and im out! I dont hardly ever ever eat that shit because its so bad for you, but a 2-3 times a year now. ill get one.

Moved to Washington so there's no In-N-Out here :( I go to Five Guys now. It's pretty awesome.

I think that Smashburger has to be my overall favorite, though Five Guys is a strong contender as well. :thumb:

Yep. 10 and 9 for me. But more often than not, I'll do my own burgers. What they have on me are proper fries. I don't do fries.

I love In N Out burgers, but am out west so rarely that it doesn't count.

I love me some Wendy's. Never had In-n-out.

I may get flamed for this but do not care, "Aldie Season Fries" in the oven are pretty darn good.

There are a lot on this list that I've never tried. And more than one that I enjoyed. But I had to go with Five Guys.

Of those, I'll take Hi-Boy.

Five Guys is great, but we don't have any near me. Closest one to me is somewhere in Chicago I believe. The only time I had it was when I was in KC over the summer.

Wendy's sucks. Seriously. I'd rather have McDonalds.

Mayonnaise on a burger grosses me out.

voted Smashburger. it's real good though pricey. I like Freddys for the thin style burgers.

Yeah, that one's iffy, though its Burger Works version is pretty solidly in the same category as Five Guys and Smashburger.

I haven't been to many of the places listed. I do love a Hardee's mushroom and swiss burger though.

I voted Culver's. It's really a toss up between them, In and Out, and Whataburger.

Also, there are several places on this list I've never even heard of, much less eaten at.

Geography plays a large roll in this.

Steak 'n Shake for me. I've only eaten at 7 of the places listed and 3 of those I haven't eaten at for years.

I've eaten at DQ on occasion, but never for their burgers. Their Iron Grilled sandwiches are really good. They're kind of like a panini.

Five Guys is probably my favorite among that list. In-and-out is good too, but over rated IMO. Five Guys is a slightly better version of them. One of my favorite places when I lived in Los Angeles was Fat Burger. I'd get their "king burger" with and over easy egg. SOOOO good.

In and out . A rare treat.

Wendy's, McDonald's, Burger King.

Definitely agree that egg + burger = delicious. Smashburger does those as well. :drool:

burger king is ****in disgusting. not big on mcdonalds but don't mind the dollar menu items from time to time. wendys is trash, used to be good but it sort of fell off.

A&W is really good here in Canada but it's damn expense and the portions aren't the greatest. 5 guys is really good too especially those cajun fries.

Smashburger burgers are great, maybe the best, but their fries suck (or rather, at least they suck at both of the locations near where I live), and for me fries are a big part of the whole burger experience.

I'd probably go with Five Guys at this point. And/or Culver's.

Wendy's has changed something. I don't eat there any longer because it makes me feel sick about an hour later. It's like I ate a brick.

I think Wendy's is better than it was, actually. I don't think it's very good, still, but I think it's better than it was.

A lot of these fast food places now are pretty expensive it seems to me. If you get the combo with fries and drink you start to get up near $9 or $10. For a drive thru meal it seems like quite a bit.

I agree...i didn't care much for them either...especially given what it costs.

Looks like the closest is Wichita. Not very likely...

Mooyah was good the time I went there. Their fries were super salty but that's probably just the dude working that day.

Went to Five Guys once... felt like I could have gotten a meal at Red Lobster faster. And it definitely wasn't worth the wait. Simply just another burger to taste like all the rest.

Red Robin's Burnin' Love Burger does it for me.

Agreed. Also, how is BRGR fast food. 40 minute waits and $8 - $12 burgers are not fast food. If you put in BRGR you should have put in Blanc. FWIW...I love BRGR and it's the best restaurant burger in KC.

As someone who hasn't heard of many of the places on the list, I could only do a little bit of vetting unfortunately. That said, the line between fast food and other restaurants can be pretty blurry when it comes to hamburgers.

Steak and Shake but I've never had a chance to try In and Out Burger and I hear it's the shit.

I think the answer is, "any of them that don't give me the screaming shits."

And the fries at In-N-Out are the worst french fries I've ever had. I'll never go back there solely because the fries were so gross.

Red Robin's Banzai Burger is where it's at. Plus, it's got enough calories to fuel a 12-day hike in the mountains.

Voted 5 Guys, as given the choice they'd be my go to, but I've had a couple of Hardee's 1/3lb Thickburgers lately, and they were actually pretty tasty. I got them for free, though, so that may skew my opinion subconciously...

I voted for Freddy's. Love 'em. Had 5 guys - too damned messy. Had In-N-Out - nothing special. LOVE Backyard Burger. Truth be told, though - I am really partial to Sonic's burgers.

I voted Winstead's.

I think these need to be divided into tiers, though. There's a pretty big gap between something like Burger King and Fuddrucker's.

They're.. different. Good in their own weird way, just like their burgers.

Heart Attack grill? Never had one.

Understand. And I highly recommend you try BRGR...you will enjoy it.

Five Guys is pretty good but vastly overrated here.

Whataburger has to be the most overrated burger chain in these here United States. And that's coming from a certified Texan.

These are all shit. Any place that cant make a medium cooked hamburger is garbage

In Topeka, the only burgers I have really liked at all is Spangles and DQ.

In and Out in So CA but Sonic is out here now just not in Riverside but will be by the one of the summer but I'm from the Dot I loved that Eatons, lol

I have a way to get a free 1/3# thickburger every week, and they actually haven't even bothered making me redeem it, so it will likely go on for a very long time. :evil:

I had to go Maid Rite.
Mostly because it is our small town hang out. I started eating there as a small child. My Dad owned a Gas Station up the street, and we ate there all the time.
They would let me have a tab. I would invite all my friends to go to the Maid Rite and we would order up, then my Dad would get the bill. Man he would be pissed.
The place hasn't changed in 50 years. Dirty as hell, but man good food.
