Opening day at the K

I'll be there with my whole family. Who's with me? Kids are hyper-active tonight. Will be a fun day to make some memories. Making a three hour drive. We started it last year, and watched a Royals victory. Didn't post in Royals Repository cause this deserves its own thread. Be Royal!! Guthrie pitches 7 innings and gives up 4, but bats come alive and we score 8. Gordon goes yard. Go Royals!!!

TLO 04-03-2014 08:34 PM

Wish I could be there!

Hope you have an awesome time.

I hope the royals show up tomorrow!

Enjoy

LoneWolf 04-03-2014 08:56 PM

My wife and I will be there with our nephew. It'll be his first Royals game. Hopefully we will get to see a victory.

Prison Bitch 04-03-2014 09:02 PM

When I was in grade school my dad surprised me by showing up to get me for opening day. I'll never forget it.

C3HIEF3S 04-03-2014 10:01 PM

Awesome man, hope the Royals can pull one out tomorrow, it should be electric out there. Should be a good time with the family.

lewdog 04-03-2014 10:03 PM

Not sure if I wanna admit this......but......I've never been to a Royals game at the K.

Sure, if they ever prove they are serious about putting a winner on the field.

Same thing with the Chefs. I went in 2004 for the 4-0 game with the Donkeys and Dante's famous goal line punt return. They haven't really made the effort since to prove to me that they are serious so I haven't returned.

journeyscarab 04-03-2014 10:47 PM

Going with my daughters dentist office. They've got Jack Stack catering and loads of beer! Never been to opening day at the K. Looking forward to it! GO ROYALS!

I've never been inside Arrowhead, that may be worse I don't know.

The K, out of the 5 or so parks I've been to, was just a step above the rest. It's gorgeous with the fountains in the outfield.
Although that could just be because I go to US Cellular Field so much :)

0-3 Be Royal.

WakkaWakka 04-03-2014 11:50 PM

Wife and I are going Saturday. I was so excited to be taking my little girl to her first game, but alas it wasn't meant to be I guess, she got sick, so will just be the wife and me, I'll take my daughter to her first game another time.

I feel like you guys are deprived. But my mom worked a bank that sold tickets when I was a kid, they sold their season tickets and gave them away to loyal customers Ect. Well employees had a rotation with the left overs. As you can imagine everyone tried very hard to sell them and we never got to go for free.

Awesome.. Will the weather be good? It's just great to be at the ballpark when it's sunny and in the 70's.

It was awesome. The seats my wife's friend hooked us up with were in the third row right behind the Royals dugout. Hosmer signed a ball for my nephew and also gave him a batting glove. You couldn't have slapped the smile off of my nephew's face. The entire game he was smiling ear to ear. After the game, he hugged me and told me thank you and that he would continue to work hard to make me proud. One of the best days of my life and one I'll never forget.

Dude, that is one legit story! Glad it went down as planned. Hosmer is a very approachable ball player and down to earth. Not surprised he did all of that. Glad you guys had a great time and saw a Royals victory.
