Will never, EVER, use FedEx again...
Sent my PS3 back for repairs.
Weeks pass, I'm tracking it, it's supposed to be delivered last thursday. Never comes. I (mistakenly) assume they don't deliver on weekends. The wife leaves for 15 minutes to pick up McDonalds and when she comes back she brings in a note on the door saying they tried to deliver but couldn't, come pick up your package. The front door was wide open and I was no more than 15 feet from it the entire time. Whatever. I call and get someone who doesn't speak english well enough to understand. Not an immigrant with an accent, a completely incomprehensible blubblering fool I honestly can't understand. First time I've ever angrily stated "transfer me to either your supervisor or someone who can speak better ****ing english!" I was transferred to a woman with a heavy mexican accent (:cuss: ) who, oddly enough, could answer my questions. Apparently Sony Inc. ships their packages super duper high priority and a 3rd party was hired out to deliver mine (read: any asshole with a van.) Even though this guy was tracked to still be in my town I have to now pay (****ing PAY) to have him leave the package here today. And here's the kicker. Even though it's here TODAY, and the store is open TODAY, I can't pick up my ****ing 4 week late PS3 until ****ing tuesday because "HIGH PRIORITY" shipping only operates on specific days of the week. I have either talked to the dumbest customer service rep alive or FedEx is total $#it. Either way I'm done with them... |
Tell them it's medical equipment - It's what I'd do - they'll turn around.
|
Might have worked.
40 minutes ago... |
I have found that people that sort of politely freak out on them on their facebook page get fellated and apologies.

Is a PS3 really even worth sending off for repairs?

That's 20 years of gaming I've got that I still enjoy. It will also be the last backwards compatible system. Ever. And since I have a Mac emulation is pretty much a no-go. The few offerings for joysticks suck and there's even less in the way of emulation. What was a 10 day leave-to-return process is now going on 6 weeks and a day. 7 weeks before I get my machine... |

Well, it's not like the USPS is offering anything better - but I thunk they're trying a lot harder these days. And UPS prolly has the same relative issues too.
Seems like the fail in all of this, and not your fault, was going "on the cheap". That being said, it is frustrating... |

Last time I used UPS an employee opened my package, stole some of the items inside, and re-packaged the rest in a new box.
I couldn't complain, of course, because the package was beer - a violation of UPS terms of service. But still, FedEx has never dicked me over like that. |

You should use a comma when addressing someone. For example: How are you doing without cigarettes, Big Smoke? Go **** yourself, frazod, you fat piece of shit! Discus thrower, I really think you need some pussy. |

That Castaway movie really turned me off of Fedex.

Just be happy that the FedEx truck didn't slam into your house, catch on fire, and kill everyone in your family.

Our UPS guy comes when there's a blizzard. Our UPS comes during an ice storm.
Our FedEx guy will mark our packages "undeliverable due to weather" the day after it rains. **** FedEx. |
My wife broke the screen on her Galaxy S3 a month ago. I sent it off for repair, b/c the digitizer is built into the screen and the repair is a bitch. I dropped the package off, then waited, assuming the 10 business day turnaround. Twelve days later it was finally picked up. Samsung finally gets it, fixes it, and send it back.
My wife signs for the package on Monday, opens it up, and the screen is completely shattered. Mother**** UPS. |
Buy a PC, backwards compatibility forever...and you can do a few more things with The PC.
|
YLOD ? I had the 80 gig that went tits up. Turn on light goes green to yellow then red and never starts. Heat issues on the board would get hot the separate when cool. Some guys temp fixed it with a heat gun. I just piled mine in a heap in the box never did anything more.
I have always had good success with FedEx for that matter UPS also. USPS is hit or miss. Sounded more like this is on Sony and there policy not FedEx. |
UPS is much much worse.

I really hate how fedex and ups have turned to just ringing the doorbell and then leaving the package on the doorstep or tossing a sticky on your door after only pressing the doorbell once.

I mailed off some valuable comic books earlier this week. I've kept them in VF/NM condition for 10 years. I took them to UPS so I could use their pack and ship guarantee. They're insured for $100. The lady at the UPS store was treating them roughly as soon as I handed them over. I watched her pack them and she did a sloppy job with nothing other than bubble wrap. I told her that I didn't think bubble wrap by itself was sufficient protection. I then asked her to use cardboard to sandwich the comics. cardboard/comic/cardboard/comic/cardboard and so on. The lady actually told me straight to my face that she didn't have any cardboard in the entire store. I pointed out that she had a mountain of cardboard boxes behind the counter. I even asked If I could buy some cardboard. She asked me to leave the store. On my way out, I said: Okay, you're on the hook for $100.
Sheesh, i would have packed them myself but, in order to utilize the pack and ship guarantee, they have to do the packing. I called the store the next day and asked to speak to a manager. The same lady picked up the phone. I then asked how I could contact the store owner. the lady on the phone said: Speaking. Ugh. that cost me $25. I've been tracking the package and it still hasn't been delivered 5 days later. So now I'm wondering, do they even honor their guarantee or will they dispute the claim? (or) Will I have to take this lady to small claims court? |

We've had zero problems with UPS and we get deliveries daily. Quite frankly, we haven't had a ton of problems with USPS or DHL either. FedEx just flat out sucks - more than 50% of our packages with FedEx never arrive on time. |
I hope you get your Nintendo soon.
Oh some people's problems... |

Fed Ex man tried to steal my package. I was watching the tracking on it and the day he was supposed to deliver it he never came down my road. I live on a state lake that has very few houses and roads. I called in and the lady told me they would talk to the driver and they would get right back with me. Never called back. Called again the next day and got the people that can't speak Engrish. They would call back within 48 hours or some bullshit. Never called back, so I called them again.
Again got the non-English speaking dudes. I kept on telling him I couldn't understand what he was saying. He started spelling out words, but I couldn't understand the letters he was saying. FInally got "corner" out of him. Walked about 1/4 mile down my road and the package was sitting at a house that I don't know if I've ever seen anyone at. I think the FedEx man was going to steal it, but since I called so quickly and kept on it, he came in at night and left it down the road from me. NEVER will use them and I'll request a different service if someone wants to send it to me with FED EX |

I mean precisely that, by and large, have now become slaves of machines. When Jesus never came, saw computer technology and the Internet as a savior. Look around, everywhere people standing and staring at a computer screen! Take any workplace, doctor, bookseller, go in every single place, use your eyes and your brain, and think!Outrageously! This "computer prostitution" many are forced to, in order to have food on the tables. Unequivocally, it takes several times longer today to perform an errand, than 20 years ago.Everywhere, everywhere, codes and other things should be kept in the head, to write them down, then they may be stolen and exploited. And is made. Are there any who can deny it unbearably lengthy procedures surrounding everything from a cup of coffee, a great deal? And if the power goes out, it stops everything! Everything!Pharmacy, medical center, hospital, train, plane, everything stops, and even business doors! The Internet has become the criminals and the self Sick great forum! All that evil is rampant as weeds, and everything just spreads. My suggestion: Shut down the internet! You can not have gone too far, says surely you. Non! Return the Internet to the Military Department, if at all, before everything collapses. Scrap maybe there too. Human beings are designed for analog technology = hands that move towards a meter. It's all come from the discovery of the sundial. So we measured the first time sooner. Our genes are "analog". If someone says that the clock is for example 13:47, what does that say?Nothing, hard to understand. But looking at an analog clock, and you understand immediately! What do you others who have "stuck in the trap"? |
PS3 and Mc Donald's god your woman must just cream every time she she's you

UPS and DHL are worse.
And of course there is always the US Postal Service… |

I think it was the McDonald's run myself. |
My wife very often has to ship time sensitive items to people in her line of work (wedding invitations that need to get somewhere by X date). These things are often valued at several thousand dollars. More importantly, it pretty much ****s up someone's wedding if they can't send out their invitations that they paid thousands of dollars for.
Long way of saying: we've had some horror story experiences with all of the shipping companies. There is nothing like watching the routing of a package, see it get to the town where it's supposed to go, find out it wasn't delivered and see it head back your direction then having it get lost in mail limbo and no one be able to tell you where it is. All the while the the bride is calling you on a daily basis freaking out, wondering when her invites are going to arrive, and you're unable to really do anything about it because of the incompetence of the shipping service. You can claim for the insurance amount, but reprinting in time for the mail out is often impossible by then... so basically the people's wedding invitation process would be ****ed. Luckily, we've yet to have a truly disastrous one, thanks to hours and hours on the phone with the shipping service CSRs getting matters sorted out. The nice thing about our line of work is that the CSRs are usually pretty sympathetic and try hard to recover things when you explain that it's someone's wedding that's being ruined. |

a ups & fdx driver normally has about 100 deliveries and 50 pickups a day give or take.... Just do the math on that for a second and divide it by 10 hours a day and you will understand why they can't take 10 mins to deliver every stop... Carriers mess up from time to time and it takes a long time to dig out from bad weather .. We were shut down for 2 days down south here due to the ice, but those loads of freight from the parts of the country unaffected by the weather continues to pile up.. So take 2 days off and then you are 2 days behind on a dock that is already busting at the seams with capacity... It's organized kaos... Most drivers don't want to take a box back they already carried to your porch because they have to bring it back tomorrow and it just makes more work for him. |

If it fails to make service, heads may roll Costs more but if it's that time sensitive, you have to do what you have to do. |

I work for USPS (probably deliver to some of you). Honestly the best deal is probably the priority shipping. We are getting disciplined if we even miss one scan, and whenever we have a ton of parcels and we have to cut some (because the clerks don't have enough time to sort) we always get the priority out first.
Which means around Christmas time we had hundreds amazon prime 2 day shipping sitting there for a week while our USPS 2 day priority were out immediately. That said props to UPS because they take those heavy ass packages so I don't have to deliver them. |

I haven't had any problems with USPS. The only thing that really drives me nuts about them is the fact they move in slow motion when you have to go to the post office. otherwise, my packages have always gotten to their destination exactly when expected.

But the price is right compared to FedEx, so I'll deal with the line. |

The drivers get that the customer service is down, and most of them genuinely don't like it (interaction with people is one of the better parts of the job for the most part, and they understand that building relationships with the people you deliver to fosters a comfort that leads to more business), but none of that matters to the idiot bean counters that sit in corporate offices milling over the mean numbers in various districts. I'm speaking for UPS here, but I'm sure that R8ers would say much the same for Fed-Ex. |

Did you do the package car delivery thing, or did you go right to the big trucks? I delivered for 11 years until I blew my shoulder out and had to have surgery. It was about then I said piss on the delivery thing and moved to the feeder department. |
First, I would call and chew out Fed Ex and get my way about something... some $ back or something. I'm talented that way.
Second, after reading some of the BS on this board as usual, I wonder what kind of loser I must be to be posting here. |

Having had worked for UPS for a bit, 9 times out of 10 it's the shipper or receiver that's done something wrong.
If Sony requires a signature, it's not FedEx's fault they didn't leave just leave it. And no, they're not just going to walk into your house if the door is open unless they feel like getting shot. They likely knocked and nobody answered...they leave a note. And no, they're not going to just stop they're route and turn around to get back to you. Drivers have full scheduled days where literally minutes count. No you can't just go get it yourself. Why? b/c your package is likely sitting with 100 others packages on a truck amongst a fleet of other trucks and likely is still running it's route until the day is done when the drivers and ppl that coordinate those drivers are going home for the day. Well actually you could go get it yourself, but you're going to have to wait for them to get the package off the truck and hold it at their pick-up area which you'll likely be waiting just as long as if they just redelivered it, if not longer... The fastest way you'll get your package is just wait for the next business day, and they'll try to deliver it again. If your not going to be there, it's the shipper that would have to allow it to be left w/o signature and good luck getting Sony to do that for you... I understand things like this are frustrating, but there is little to be done about it and you will have the same problems with any other shipping service. UPS? Same. DHL? Same. USPS. Bwahahahaha!!! |
