Can't miss eats in Miami?
I'm heading out to Miami in a few weeks. Anyone know of any good places I can't miss? the mrs is allergic to antifreeze, so that's off the menu. Thanks

I haven't been there in a few years, since I moved back north (Damn it!), but if you'll tell me what type of food you're interested in, and what parts of the Miami area won't be too far a drive, I can probably still give you a few suggestions.

we are pretty adventurous eaters, so will try just about anything once. We're going to be in the Miami Beach area. Thanks for the info

The dolphin steak is really good.

http://www.tropicalchinesemiami.com/ but it's not on the beach. There's always the famous http://www.joesstonecrab.com/index.html I haven't been down to Calle Ocho in years, so I'm not really able to tell you what the best latin places currently are. Latin American Cafe used to be solid, but I've heard that things may have changed. If you like Japanese hibachi places, there's a Benihana nearby. http://www.benihana.com/locations/miamibeach-fl-mb/ Here's one that used to be a solid seafood choice: http://www.garciabrothersseafood.com/ |
Bag of dicks.

CJ's Crab Shack on Miami Beach is the spot. Food is amazing and the owner is a really cool guy, he always gives us cigars every time I've eaten there. It's around 6th or 7th and Ocean Drive.
Then go down to the Shore Club after dinner and spend $42 on a Vodka and Red Bull. South Beach prices are cheap. |

Kudos for being the one of the only people to actually attempt to help the OP, though. |

As for more restaurants: The Forge has been around for a long time, and will be happy to take a lot of your money away from you if you're looking for that kind of place. I always had other preferences, but it's an old reliable for the city: http://theforge.com/ I'd love to try Naoe, but I don't think that's what the O.P. is looking for. LMAO Siam Palace is a fair priced Thai restaurant that was always a good meal. El Mago de las Fritas for Cuban sandwiches and the like Flanigans is a popular sports bar with several locations Here's a list of a few buffet spots. I haven't visited all of them, so I can't really tell you which would be the best alternatives, but you can do some research if you care enough to check into them: http://miami.cbslocal.com/top-lists/...fets-in-miami/ P.S. Knowing this crowd, there's no way in hell I'm putting any BBQ joints down. You're on your own for that. :thumb: |

Second year in their system he was with Jupiter last season. That is a great town if you got time to make it up that way, it's right next to West, Palm Beach. Update:Try Atrio. It's a restaurant/hotel. Great food, superb view. |
Thanks for the tips, we love seafood, so we'll be sure to check out a couple of those

Latino bleached butthole w/ a side of picadillo.
|
In all seriousness - they're all pretty legit (@ least that I've had) - just walk the back of South Beach.
|
often they'll have a cart rolled out to the sidewalk w/ their nightly special 'plated' -- several places there will do this.

Just eat in the ****ing airport after you land, feel the ****ing oppressive heat and humidity, see the error in your ways, call it good, jump back onto a plane and go somewhere that doesn't have basketball players who suck dirty donkey dicks and is hotter than hell and feels like a steam room.

you couldn't pay me to go backto Miami.
Ft Lauderdale, maybe. I thought Miami sucked. of course, if i had tons of cash it might be a different story. lol. the ghettos surrounding the original Orange Bowl and Joe Robbie (what ever it's called now) were awesome. |

Hurricanes FTW!

I HIGHLY recommend Hakkasan
It's located at the Fontainebleau, so be sure to grab a drink at the hotel bar. Joe's Stone Crab is good, but I'd hit it for lunch, not dinner. |

I am dating someone in Miami, and for her birthday weekend I took her to two places I had never been before, but both were excellent.
Red Fish Grill. A local seafood place with a small, but good, menu right on the water. Actually was in Something About Mary as well. I was really happy and it was very romantic. Make reservations. Yardbird. Go for brunch and have the fried chicken and waffles. Their drinks are amazing. Go for sure.. it is in the top three new restaurants I have been to this year. |

Miami was ok the one time we went. If you get a chance to go to Vizcaya (I ghink that's how it's spelled) you should. It's a very old enormous house with some sweet architecture. When we went it happened to be some sort of hip hop weekend so was pretty undesirable. And we ate at a Cuban restaurant where our server couldn't speak to us and they heals to have a cool come talk to us cuz he was the one who could speak English the best. But I'd go back again.

Not the Hot Wings, they are very mild. Must not be able to handle the heat in Miami.
