Simply Red is ChiefsPlanet's greatest treasure.

Only because I get these random-ass emails from SR once every month or so.

Also - Have you ever been to a Perkins, If so; What did you order? and how was it?

Folks, I love this man.

Direckshun 06-27-2014 09:58 AM

For the record, Perkins' pancakes are pretty good. But I love their pies. Always have.

And I have no idea what the Obama-Phone thing is. LMAO

RealSNR 06-27-2014 10:00 AM

Perkins pies are pretty damn good.

They used to offer a cheeseburger fries and a milkshake deal that was pretty damn tasty as well.

Katipan 06-27-2014 10:01 AM

Signed.

Baby Lee 06-27-2014 10:02 AM

I miss Tippins, never gave Perkins another thought.

Donger 06-27-2014 10:03 AM

I, too, like Simply Red. He reminds me of one of my brothers. The one who my kids watch and say, "It's amazing that you two came from the same parents."

Yeah. I remember shortly after my Mom passed away, I was going through her kitchen packing up items. There must have been a dozen Pippin's Pie tins stacked in one of her cabinets. I could taste that strawberry pie from just looking at the tins........

Simply Red is the Obi-Wan Kenobi of Chiefsplanet. A crazy old wizard hanging out in the wastes, popping in when you least expect it. Helping you and expecting nothing in return.

He has taught me the ways of the Force.

lcarus 06-27-2014 04:13 PM

Simply Red is a pretty damn good poster and a hell of a friend. I know him outside of CP. Used to own a half casino/half Barn Burger with him back in Champaign, Illinois circa 1979.

Believe it or not, if it wasn't for Tippems I might not be a Chiefs fan. When I started getting in to football I worked at Tippens in STL. The 2 managers were huge KC fans. They made me the Chiefs fan I am.... Dicks!! Lol

SR showers in vodka and feeds his babies shrimp scampi. E'rrybody know that.

Simply Red 06-27-2014 07:34 PM

Seriously - Not sure the reason for this - but it's very thoughtful of you all.

Very sweet gesture. I'm thankful to have online 'distant' yet not so distant friends - as each and every one of your special asses.

Means a ton. Really. Thank you.

Are you, by chance a big fan of Mr. Rogers? If so, I am too... big time. I used to love his "you should always know that you are the best at something, and this is true...for you are the best, the best at being you." Used to really make me feel a little less...insignificant at the time.

I did but mostly for Puppet King Friday & the factory.

Fred was solid though - He could easily have fallen into the creepy peewee herman slide downward. But he stayed solid throughout his life. Very nice gesture and dedication to a nice cause for kids.

Yeah, I was just thinking that after re-watching that clip, that I'm glad that he didn't glide on the creepy side. It seems like a lot of these "pro-children" dudes do. Thank God Mr. Rogers stayed cool.

perhaps a few years back, I had to quit drinking - but If you could land me some Oxy's - I could do a binge for a few days, I get really cerebral on that crap - I am good for a two or three day binge once every 7 or 8 yrs. I always put the brakes on and don't revisit it for many yrs. Actually a confession, I love them and would have issues if I weren't careful and cognizant of those little white bastards.
