It is a sad state of affairs when Matt Schaub is being marketed to boost ticket sales

The bar is just so low there

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 07-18-2014 01:24 PM

All he has to do is throw at Cooper. Even Schaub can figure it out.

It is a sad state of affairs, when the board's biggest blow hard on his expertise concerning regarding the QB position in the NFL gets to mid-July 2014 without knowing that Schaub had been traded to a conference opponent months ago.

RealSNR 07-18-2014 01:45 PM

I expect him to dazzle us all with a very Cassel-like season.

I love how delusional Raider fans are each year. At least we are realists, you all actually think you have a legitimate shot at a winning season no matter who they put on the field.

We are also not scared of david carr.

With what he has on offense (no Arian Foster, no Andre Johnson, no Owen Daniels) do you really expect him to put up anything more than a Matt Casselish kind of season?

I could see him learning to play more cautious and cutting down his interceptions, but the bottom line is the dude is most likely going to be an ineffective QB.

That's being somewhat generous. Schaub had better stats than Smith in 2011 and 2012.

He might be placed in some bad situations down and distance wise.

Like, he might find himself in a 3rd down situation where he's got a LOT of yards to reach the first. 3rd and 15. That's a lot. 3rd and 22. That's also a lot. It could possibly even be something really terrible like 3rd and 31.

But surely no team is bad enough to let their QB get into an even worse situation than that, right?

Schaub is a huge upgrade over the shit Oakland rolled out there last season.

Not really.

Schaub has had three 4,000 yard seasons.

People have incredibly short memories. Schaub was a good QB until last season. He wasn't great, and he had a great WR to throw to, but right now 2013 is an outlier in his rather solid career.

At the beginning of 2013 nobody thought Smith was better than Schaub.

Schaub was very much like Stafford, "Chuck it to Johnson".

While I highly doubt this will happen, anything can happen in this division.

Christ, Matt McGloin put up 300 yards and 31 points on us.

We lost players and are replacing them with unknowns and are optimistic, you can't fault the guy for being optimistic after adding better players.

This is more about Schaub than it is the Raiders being able to beat us. Yes, the guy wasn't quite right in the head last year. That's obvious. What caused that? There wasn't a change in offensive personnel. There wasn't a change in coaching. The dude just started tanking and playing like ass.

Is a change of environment really going to make him better, even though he doesn't have half of the weapons he had in Houston?

Bowser 07-18-2014 06:26 PM

Schaub went and caught a flaming case of the Cassel last season.

Matt Schaub is going to rape faces this year.

Do you know who one of his offensive guards is?
