HOLLER!!!!!

GloucesterChief 07-18-2014 11:23 PM

Roasted and salted in shell peanuts. Goes great with beer and decent for you.

HC_Chief 07-18-2014 11:25 PM

Shit...now I want Jack in the Box greasy nasty tacos. Thanks, bastard. ;)

L.A. Chieffan 07-18-2014 11:28 PM

I was just going to say two tacos for .99

Bufkin 07-18-2014 11:28 PM

Mcdonalds dollar menu.

BucEyedPea 07-18-2014 11:28 PM

That's one of mine too, GC. Roasted and salted nuts. But only like the pistachios in the shell. I love cashews and pistachios most. I like my cashews, almonds etc out of the shell. I can handle peanuts in the shell but rarely do.

I like salty stuff generally. Like lime tortilla chips with salsa, Cape Cod chips, the organic cheese puffs, popcorn.

Fruit especially berries and peaches with some cream on them.

TimBone 07-18-2014 11:51 PM

Wtf is in those tacos? I've had them before. It's like it's not even real meat. I've always referred to it as beef paste. They are ****ing tasty, though.

Good to hear they haven't changed much over the years. As a kid we would get off work at Worlds of Fun drive to Claycomo get taco's Jack in the Box then party at Airplane Park.

They always tasted a little like the Patio frozen mini taco's. Burger King used to have a taco very similar I don't know if its still on there menu or not.

I ordered them once in college a long while back when drunk and thought similarly. The slice of shitty cheese also threw me off. Jack in the Box has much better drunk offerings like the sourdough jack which I don't think I have had since drunk in college either.

I think the most difficult thing about moving from California back to Kansas is no Jack In The Box..there was a hot dog place in downtown san diego a buddy and I would always go to when we were drunk. They stayed open late and served beer. So it was a win win. We would get a padre dog. It was a hot dog topped with mustard, sauerkraut and jalapenos

For just noshing with a beer, I like chex mix. If (like when I was a young pup) I'd been out drinking cleaning products all night, I liked the Hawthorne Cafe, with Biscuits and Gravy, and watching the sun come up, and listening to Johnny Cash and George Jones on the Jukebox. Ah...those were the days my friend.

Yep had plenty of chex mix while bellied up. Occasionally would get a Red Hot dog dick out the jar or boiled egg.

I don't know what it is, but if I've had 4-5 or more drinks and try to eat anything at all, my body just hits the "off" switch, I'm useless after that and just want to go to bed... total energy depletion.

I don't know if eating while drinking causes my blood sugar to crash or what (my going hypothesis, though I'm not diabetic). But if I intend to party then eating is out until the party is over.

That's crazy. I can't eat while drinking I get full to fast and the beer is tough to go down.

lewdog 07-20-2014 01:09 PM

I also hate eating while drinking. Not necessarily because it ruins the buzz but because it changes the taste of what you are drinking so much.

Alcohol will lower your blood sugar. The body treats it like a poison so your liver makes it a priority to get rid of it. While it is doing that it can't process food to release as blood sugar.

I do drink wine at a meal. Helps the digestion...and other liquids like water, iced or soda ( which I do not drink generally ) water down the digestive juices. It's also more enjoyable with a meal imo. Wine should be pared with food, imo.

I'm much more about grains than the vine, but a glass of red with a tomato based Italian meal always hits the spot.

Yeah, well beer does go well with certain dishes too—even Italian meals. Like Pizza. Or some German meal meals. Jmo.

There's a craft brewpub in Wilmington, NC, called Front Street Brewery. Among their many outstanding beers was the first and only draft sour beer. Anyway, they have the most outstanding bar snack I've ever had: Beer nuggets. They bite-size pieces of beer bread batter that have been deep fried. They're marvelous.

Mr. Wizard once ate a bunch of peanuts with beer, he says they were amazing. The next morning he awoke with a gut pain that rivaled an anaconda wrapped around his intestine. Hours late he was in the hospital with diverticulitis. The peanuts had swollen in his gut and tried to kill him. Poor guy. After two days they had cleared the blockage and he went home never to eat a nut again. :harumph:

Mr. Wizard also went to a Nickelback concert in KC and got very toasted. Concert was AMAZING. On the way home (he had a DD) he and a friend stopped at a quick trip and he thought a huge heatemandeatem burrito sounded amazing. The next day he and a friend drove 6 hours home and his friend had drive with his his window down the whole way. When they got to Salina it was so bad Mr. Wizard rolled his down too. his friend claims to this day the smell lingers in the passenger seat. Wow, what a concert. :)

Mr. Wizard 08-27-2018 08:15 PM

One time at band camp (not really, it was at the lake) Mr. Wizard after a day of Budweiser decided that several cans of Vienna sausages would be just the ticket. He would open the can and swallow them whole. It was great fun around the campfire ! A couple hours of sleep later he awoke and ran out of the camper and began throwing up whole Vienna sausages. When done he rinsed his mouth out with a Budweiser and went back to bed.
The next morning a huge raccoon was beside the spot he had remade the sausages projectile style, passed out. Then they poked the coon with a stick multiple times and he finally staggered off drunk as hell.
Mr. Wizard loves wildlife.
