It is time for someone else to take the annual "King of the n00bs" crowning and nomination to the next level. After 9 years, I've passed the leadership role to PGM. He will come up with a new format and process.

PGM has done a damn good job with the roasts. I'm sure he will knock this one out of the park

A couple days ago, the "King of the n00bs" stuff was brought up in the Top 101 Posters thread and I made a comment about how during my n00b year, I wasn't nominated or even mentioned...and followed this by posting 3 different "crying" gifs. I was being 100% sarcastic... I followed the n00b of the year thread during my n00b year, but I didn't actually give a shit that I was apparently invisible during that time.

Sometimes when it becomes clear to me that the butt-hurt and/or desire to win or be commended in some of these popularity contests is actually legit, it kind of prompts me to think a bit harder about who I am interfacing with on here.

Aussie joined in like 1996 and ran away with it last year.

I got beat out by BoneKrusher because he made signature panels for everyone. He won it and has since disappeared.

I haven't seen him around much lately either. Maybe he finally got a job?

I think it's because he is just recently becoming noticed. Just kind of now coming into his own. Kind of how Sorter was 2012 champ, although I think he registered around the same time we did (September 2011)...I could be wrong about that though. Sorter kind of sat back for a few months at first, I think... then when he started opening up a bit more, no one could give him the n00b treatment because he sat back and learned the ways of the board AND could back him self up with his extensive football knowledge.

You were real good with handling the n00b treatment as well. I used to get a kick out of it. You'd basically be like (in your own words), "**** off" whenever someone tried to come at you with the n00b shit.

Just clicked on the "members list" tab and searched by join date. Along with me, Lewdog, Sorter and Bonekrusher, September 2011 also brought in Setsuna, tecumseh and Caseyguyrr. Saphojunkie joined just a couple days before September 2011.

That function is interesting. The first freaking member to join this board was user named "Broncos Fan" follow by htismaque. Of ALL freaking usernames...Broncos Fan was the first ever member of Chiefs planet. Unbelievable.

There is a "BroncoFan" that joined 8-17-2000. If you hover over a person's name, it shows you what number they are (I'm the 3527th member, you're the 17,000th+ member). He was like the twentieth member at CP. I couldn't find a "Broncos Fan" on the members list.

Were there a bunch of people who joined on 8-17-2000 who deleted their account or something? Because it appears that there were only like 5 people who joined the first day (8-17-2000).

Not for certain, but I think there might have been a reset or some such somewhere along the way, perhaps nuking a few accounts? Austin or DaFace would know more about that than me.

BroncoFan should be banned strictly on principle.

Also, I disagree that 2011 was a shitty noob year. If you get Rico, LewDog, and Sorter all in the same month, that's quite the take.

It's whatever PGM decides. He has total autonomy. I think the "King of the N00bs" on here is a part of the Planet now. It has a lot of off season entertainment value. It does shine a spotlight on worthy n00bs. It just needs to be reformatted.

If after its all done and the n00b crowned. If the community likes the new format, it's his until he retires. If he ****s it up, we can give someone else a chance to do better the next year.

PGM has my trust that he will create his own entertaining fresh spin on how someone becomes the 10th King of the N00bs. We should trust him. He does have a good track record with the roasts.

I think another couple of cool things to do would be :

1.) Best n00b year

and

2.) Top 50 CP Rivals/Spats...

Yes. When the contest starts its very real to some. They want it to be a fair contest. Their guy to win. People are just competitive, especially alpha males. We have a lot of those on here. I'm a competitive SOB. I can't play board games without trying to win. It never really bothered me after the first year. They were mainly great posters on here. They just hate losing like me. Doesn't matter if its real life or it matters, they just want to win and crush the other guy.
