The ones posted so far don't meet the requirements but a single rep shall be given for trying.

Those ****in things rock

I don't think you'll find those specs, specifically the processor for under $300. Under 15" may also be a deal breaker even if you accepted Celeron.

here's a refurb i5 for $349

That's a good deal, the 90 day warranty is what scares me and why I want new. Also I'd be pissed if it had any scratches on the screen.

I know NOTHING about AMD CPU's, Ive been an Intel guy my whole life. How does that AMD quad core compare to a 4th generation dual core i3?

Never mind, that coupon is expired.

Not a touch screen. Its for my 13 year old daughter, she has to have a touch screen with windows 8 .

Im probably going to have to hold off for a couple weeks, there will hopefully be some good back to school deals...

hometeam 07-21-2014 04:09 PM

Oh. Skipped over the touch part. Get a refurb or forever go without at that price point

Have you considered going with a conversion tablet where you can add the keyboard?

Yeah but for her to be able to use it for school there's a list of requirements, one being it cant have a detachable keyboard.

Im trying to talk her into a Chromebook, for what she will use it for it would work great. I may just get one and tell her if she doesn't like it tough shit.

I thought I had herd they now allowed on factory refurbs but this is just through word of mouth.

I believe there are other options as well. I have bought refurbs and other than 1 Dell desktop that was a complete dud I have had great success. After returning to Dell Dell shipped back what I can only describe as a brand new machine. Was pristine and top of the line in its day.

You know, back to school tax free weekend is coming up soon in Missouri. No tax on computers that weekend. If you can hold out a little longer, that could save you some bucks.

MTG#10 07-22-2014 09:55 AM

True, but most places I'd order it from online would be tax free too. Completely tax free...during the back to school thing you still have to pay local tax, at least we do in Springfield...
