The Chiefs could be without two key players in Sunday’s season opener against the Tennessee Titans.

Starting cornerback Marcus Cooper suffered an ankle injury and rookie running back/punt returner De’Anthony Thomas strained a hamstring late in Wednesday’s practice, coach Andy Reid said on Thursday morning.

Neither player was expected to practice on Thursday.

I have a feeling Thomas may have been/hopefully still is a bigger part of the offensive plan than just returning punts, with Bowe out. Hopefully it's something he can get past quickly.

I don't think Cooper or DAT will make or break us against the Titans. It's not like we don't have all kinds of other issues and injuries. I still think we should win. We still aren't missing any of our best players.
