Alex Smith Appreciation Thread

The wide receivers are garbage, the line sucks and yet he still somehow manages to march this pile of crap up and down the field.

AND TO ANYONE WHO THINKS HE IS A PROBLEM - YOU'RE AND IDIOT!

In58men 09-14-2014 07:13 PM

Game on the line and he forces a horrible pass.

Bugeater 09-14-2014 07:13 PM

How in the hell do you have positive rep?

OldSchool 09-14-2014 07:13 PM

Props for trying but CP is still going to think that he is the problem with this team.

TimBone 09-14-2014 07:13 PM

This one should be fun.

notorious 09-14-2014 07:13 PM

The line didn't play that bad.

I am ****ing shocked.

Wallcrawler 09-14-2014 07:15 PM

First 10 minute drive in 16 years, against what was supposed to be an elite defense this year. Without China Doll Charles.

Yeah, the kicker was total garbage after the D stiffened in the red zone, but that was a helluva drive.

27 points in 2 games.

Will we score 20 or more in a single game?

Tune in next week to find out!

In58men 09-14-2014 07:17 PM

Alex Smith still hasn't beat a team over .500 in a KC uni

Red Dawg 09-14-2014 07:17 PM

I also second Alex and his effort. He moved the chains with what he had and it was not suppose to happen. We have garbage everywhere but he is not the problem.

BigMeatballDave 09-14-2014 07:18 PM

Can we change Appreciation to Toleration?

We'll score 21 points and Herm will say "that's a lot of points!"

The homers respond: "Yes! Fix the D! Alex put 21 big points on the board!"

If you're going by this awful "statistic", the Cowboys were 1-0 when we beat them last year.

Also the Titans were 3-1

pugsnotdrugs19 09-14-2014 07:25 PM

Alex Smith kept us in the game today. How many 3rd downs did he convert, 10? 11? Get real people. We lost this game due to poor coaching decisions.

Hammock Parties 09-14-2014 07:26 PM

I appreciate his sad face.

Yup. He kept us in the game simply by keeping the Donkeys off of the field and letting our defense sit and think about how not to suck.

He missed some wide open guys, and hit some bullets right in the gut.

I'll give him a B for this game... no Charles, garbage calls from Reid... having said that, as the $68 Million Dollar Man, its hard to not lay much of this at his feet.

That may sound like talking out of both sides of my ass, and it IS... but he did a BUNCH right tonight and kept us out of a blowout in the process, but for that money he needs to hit those missed throws.

Had Reid not crapped in his Depends on the fourth and a FOOT though, I bet Alex would've came through for us... he hit some HUGE 3rd and longs tonight, lasered them right on the numbers.

I can't believe people are praising Alex Smith, when this defense held Denver to 24 points.

When you hold Peyton to 24 points, your offense better pull the ****ing trigger.

Smith played well, and so did the OL. 11 out 16 3rd down conversions, 3rd and 8, 3rd and 11, 3rd and 18 etc. all great conversions. If I were a Bronco fan, I'd be fuming right now to see a below average offense with no skill position talents roll on my high touted defense.

Maybe if we had a good QB the coach would let him make the call.

Marcellus 09-14-2014 07:58 PM

Remember when the imaginary knock on him was his 3rd down conversion rate?

When it was he couldn't throw over 23 times a game and not turn the ball over.

Blah blah blah.

This team has issues and QB is not near the top of the list.

Alex Smith at least has the ability to make something out of nothing (usually with his legs). The fact that Cassel still has a STARTING JOB in the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE is baffling to me.

I'd start Jeff Garcia before I'd start Matt Cassel.

It never fails.

QB puts 17 on the board and almost ties the game with a clutch drive.

Chiefs fans go nuts with homer love.

Still sucks in the redzone.

And before we hear the whole "no one was open" crap, yeah, no one is "open". It's the ****ing red zone, space is tight down there.

Dunno about the first half and most of the 3rd quarter, but still seems to be a guy that could be great if he'd just let it go.

I don't think theres any coincidence he seems to play better in hurry up situations.

defensive starters don't count at all

Smith was jumping at ghosts half the time and even when passes were completed they weren't accurate. He missed a wide open Bowe as well as several others.
