scotland, my 8 year old grandaughter passed away yesterday morning.

she was born with down syndrome, and went through 5 heart surgeries. she was the bravest, toughest person i've known.

She leaves behind her parents, 2 younger brothers and one younger sister. lots of family and even more friends.

any thoughts, prayers are greatly appreciated.

it was so fast and crazy...all was fine yesterday morning. she got up and went to school. later in the morning, she just seized and by time they got her to the e.r. she was gone.

she was named after me...they just had to make it a little more girlish.

she'd sit with me in my recliner and we'd fight over the remote. ball game or freaking dora the explorer. she owned me.

thanks pw. yeah, we were at their house all afternoon yesterday, meeting people out front. kids(son & dil) were trying to deal with it the best they could. people mean well, but they really needed to be alone together for awhile.

Wow, just wow. Much too young.

I had a client that had a girl with Downs. I told her that she was an angel and I don't know if I could do it. Here is her quote, "Not really, she is my best friend and she will always be with me". My daughter is now 18. In 1 year she will be off to college and then the rest of her life. She'll probably move to the coasts, get a job, and I will be lucky to see her 2 x year.

I don't know enough about the syndrome and I don't have a grandchild....yet. Thus I can't imagine the sorrow. I am guessing a hole in the heart.

Prayers and know that you and your family were blessed, albeit too short a time.

An aside. As most have said a wonderful name. But last week was the Scottish vote for independence. I thought it was a spinoff of that.

After reading, wish it was.
