So remember the last time we played the Patriots?

We had THIS GUY as our starting QB.

That's what this franchise does to you. It gives you 5 unwatchable games of Tyler Palko (2 of which were played during PRIME TIME LMAO) so that when the franchise disappoints you by never looking to the draft to try to find a starting QB, it justifies its actions with, "But look how far we've come at the position since 2011!"

TLO 09-25-2014 01:00 PM

Tyler Palko.

Eh there's video of the 2005 game where GREG WESLEY and SAMMY KNIGHT picked off Brady three times.

I prefer that memory to the Palko game where Leonard Pope drew a penalty for legally blocking Julian Eddelman because said block resulted in a pancake or to the 2004 MNF game where some nasal voiced Pats fan sat right behind me and Discuss Dad and cheered only for Corey Dillon all ****ing night.

KCrockaholic 09-25-2014 01:07 PM

He lives in Olathe still.

Or in 2002 where Priest Holmes had near 200 all-purpose yards, but the Chiefs defense decided to ignore Troy Brown the whole game and lost.

Lonewolf Ed 09-25-2014 01:13 PM

I do remember the pain of the Palko days. Oh, the pain! :doh!:

ChiefsChoke010414 09-25-2014 01:13 PM

My favorite is probably the MNF game where we made a great comeback in the 4th quarter, and Grbac threw some idiotic pass to a guy in the middle of the field at like the 5 yard line, with no timeouts and only a few seconds left. Think it was like 2000. Will never forget the look on Grbac's face after that play.

My second favorite is the game where we broke Tom Brady's leg.

If I'm not mistaken, we haven't beaten them since 1999, when Vinatieri missed a short field goal at the end of the game at Arrowhead.

We beat them in 2005, as mentioned above. Brady threw like 5 picks, which is still his worst for a game, I believe.

Did we? I don't remember.

That was Vermeil's final season when we went 10-6 and missed the playoffs on the last day. We lost so many heartbreaking games that year (especially the Eagles and Cowboys games) that it figures I wouldn't remember something like Brady falling apart.

2000. Dick Vermeil brought Trent Green to KC with him in 2001.

And yeah, Grbac was brain dead at times. :banghead: Hard to believe the same guy threw for over 500 passing yards at Oakland that same season. :doh!:

Your second favorite game is the game we cursed ourselves with Matt Cassel? Really? REALLY?

If the Chiefs never tear is ACL, we never have to Matt Cassel.

Thanks for reminding us all of that travesty.

Yes, I know, Matt Cassel happened.

I just love the look of tragedy on all the analysts faces that week talking about Brady's injury. I was proud of the Chiefs for a while. Sadly, that was the highlight of the 2008 season for us.

I remember KC holding it's own with a rookie B-Flow and Carr, and then Cassel coming in and winning the game.

Of course that couldn't transfer over to the ever-burning, Ohio river dumpster-fire that IS the Chiefs.

We were huge underdogs for that game too. The year before, the Patriots had the best team any of us will likely ever see again (16-0) and it was their home opener.

Chiefs should have won that game. Kind of reminds me of the Broncos game a few weeks back. Plenty of red zone trips with nothing to show for it.

And 4 shots at the end-zone and none of the attempts came even close to a TD. Herm at his finest.

Since this has just turned into a remember when we played NE and.............

I was at the 1999 game at Arrowhead where it looked like we had for certain lost and Vinatieri shanked an easy 35 yard FG as time expired and we won by 1 or 2 points.

I was there with a coworker who was a huge NE fan. He was talking shit to everyone in our section all game and going off right before the missed kick and poof they lost. It was hilarious.

Strangest thing was on the way out of the stadium we saw a NE fan wearing a Vinatieri jersey (no shit this was before he was anything) and my buddy told him its pretty bad when other NE fans want to kick your ass for wearing that jersey.

Little did we know that day that Vinatieri was going to have a HOF type career.

And kick numerous clutch FGs in horrendous situations like blizzards. It's one of the few reasons why I'm willing to give a guy like Santos a chance. You just never know.

There are a handful of people that can vouch for me on this, but I got in Tom Brady's head in that game. We sat in 136 in row 6 (right behind the patriots bench) and I was calling Tom out all day and repeating things over and over (like "that's a lot of red, Tom" and "don't try to throw deep on us, it's gonna float" haha) that got to him. He even looked back at me more than once to acknowledge it. Right after he threw his helmet down and berated Troy Brown (iirc it was brown) he looked back at me and looked down and I swear everyone in 136 offered to buy me a beer.

That was the best time I ever had at Arrowhead.
