Ratings in KC tomorrow? Ill put the over at a 50

Simply Red 10-25-2014 11:05 PM

I hope Yost has them go into at bats 'patient' they need to get this guy's pitch count up there. Good pitchers are beaten all of the time. I see no reason this couldn't be a game like that regarding Bum.

cosmo20002 10-25-2014 11:06 PM

In. very in.

tk13 10-25-2014 11:07 PM

Doubt he does it, but I'm curious to see if Yost runs Aoki out there to try and steal a couple ABs against Bumgarner.

Rasputin 10-25-2014 11:08 PM

This better be a win alnorth. I mean this gots to be a win!

Prison Bitch 10-25-2014 11:08 PM

Yep, bet he is in the line up tomorrow.

That Right Field pasture ought to be entertaining for that sawed off JACKASS.

Plus the idiotic MLB commentators seem to think Butler starts at 1st base with his average vs Baumgarner!

Hos smacked him well in KC, hits just didn't fall in and why would Ned surrender his D at 1st base ?

Reading between the lines throughout this season, Ned seems to pretty much despise the thought of playing Butler on the field. I am very confident that Hosmer is our 1B tomorrow.

I'm less confident about Aoki vs Dyson, but I think he'll stay with his defense.

You gave it your best shot but they are just too tough. It will take a miracle.

DrRyan 10-26-2014 12:47 AM

In! They squared balls up game one. Do it again and the turn into hits this time. I'm more concerned about getting 5 good in innings from Shields.

Mother****erJones 10-26-2014 12:56 AM

2-2 you're doing well. Get em game 5.

Silock 10-26-2014 01:20 AM

Things I'm hopeful about:

1) Shields is better on the road.

2) We were getting hits on Bumgarner. We just need to string some together.

3) Even if we lose, we take 2 in KC and can still win this thing.

TribalElder 10-26-2014 01:25 AM

I hope we win this thing but doubt has crept in to my mind after tonight

BigRock 10-26-2014 01:37 AM

This. Will James Shields go down as a pretty good player who helped turn the culture and gave us all a neat October or will he become a ****ing legend in this city for ever more?

milkman 10-26-2014 06:51 AM

I have no idea why anyone thinks that Aoki should start.

He's a defensive liability, and he has been a liability at the plate.

Unsmooth-Moment 10-26-2014 07:06 AM

Wouldn't be surprised if we lose today and win Tuesday.. Game 7 in KC would be insane.

I am puzzled by this as well. Dyson has hits in both games and has played good D. Not to mention, Cain has been stellar in RF. Sure, Aoki hits lefties better but there is no way you can put him in that RF.

Hootie 10-26-2014 07:13 AM

One thing I dont understand, what has happened to our running game????Dyson had opportunity to try and steal last night, and never went? Is Yost getting conservative, or are their pitchers and catcher that tough to steal on???

I think it's tk13 that lays it out pretty well in the game 4 thread, but the pitcher did a great job of holding the runner.

I thought, however, that Aoki should have been bunting.

Absolutely, this.

****ing Yost.

Hootie 10-26-2014 07:44 AM

No. He should have taken a strike. And Dyson should have been stealing before Aoki got 2 strikes.

That was awful.

CaliforniaChief 10-26-2014 07:46 AM

Yeah, the decision on starting Aoki or Dyson is a tough one for me.

On one hand, you're already playing with a dead spot in the lineup at 9, so putting Dyson in at 8 against a LHP essentially gives you two dead spots.

Then again, the Giants put the ball in play, and have hit a ton of tough balls to RF. I have zero confidence in Aoki playing RF.

Add to that Aoki's recent woes at the plate, and I think I lean towards Dyson.

Let me add that if you go to Aoki, I bat him 8th and let Gordon stay 2nd.

CaliforniaChief 10-26-2014 07:47 AM

He should have either bunted or Dyson should have stolen. The steal was preferable (Petit gave up 15/18 SB's), but the bunt was the next right play.

There's no way a swing without a steal was a good idea.

Hootie 10-26-2014 07:48 AM

he should have taken 2nd and then Aoki should have bunted

AussieChiefsFan 10-26-2014 08:22 AM

In for the win. They get this one, its over IMO.

007 10-26-2014 08:23 AM

In but I sure don't have any positive feeling going into this game. Kind of a Chiefs feeling really.

TLO 10-26-2014 08:30 AM

I'll obviously feel a lot better if we win this one - but by no means is it over if we lose.

We need Shields to step up and kick some ass tonight.

BWillie 10-26-2014 09:31 AM

Shields needs to perform...

Has too..

alnorth 10-26-2014 09:41 AM

If we lose this game, then the pure odds (if you assume every game is a coin flip) of winning the world series is 1 in 4. If we win, its 3 in 4.

So yeah, this game means a lot.

I think there's a good chance of this... it's just reeruned that 24 hours ago people were talking about finishing them off, and now they're in big big trouble.... like they haven't ever lost to Bumgarner and then won two games in a row before.

Good thing the players aren't nearly as fickle about each game.

He definitely likes to hear himself talk, I won't disagree with that. But, I don't detect any of this bias some of you are seeing, and the Fox crew is better than TBS, so I'm fine with it.

Wallcrawler 10-26-2014 09:56 AM

MadBum's a different guy at home. 4+ERA at home puts him in the mortal human category.

Shields needs to step up and get some redemption for that ****ing terrible performance in game one. Whatever his issues were/are, they need to be gone and he needs to be locked in.

Its not over if we lose, but it will be a helluva lot better if we win.

Oh what the **** ever.

Dude's the biggest ball gargler for the Giants. ANY play that gets made for the Giants, his decibel level raises considerably and you can tell hes just drenching the front of his pants with semen.

Royals make a great play, and he's casually calling it in a ho-hum manner, wooden as **** and going through the motions.

Dude's a Giants fan calling the game, you can hear it pouring out of his **** mouth anything even remotely positive happens for the Giants.

I guess you've been completely ignoring his similar excitement when the Royals were winning. You are just wrong on this.

edit: also, the home field and the story makes a difference. In Kauffman stadium when the Royals were down a game, and the story was can KC come back, he was all over that. Now the story was the Giants are in a hole at home, can they come back.

He doesn't root for teams, he roots for the story and a long series.

lewdog 10-26-2014 11:08 AM

Well I'll be back in the threads tonight.

Start Croyle 10-26-2014 11:35 AM

If KC can win this, they'll win the world series.

Chiefshrink 10-26-2014 11:46 AM

When the Giants lost the first game at home we all knew it was coming back to KC. What we don't know yet is whether KC or the Giants will come back having to sweep in KC. Don't want to be a 'Downer' here but emotionally prepare yourself ahead of time for tonight. Giants were hungrier last night taking advantage of the atrocious pitching and lack of intensity by the Royals once the Royals got up 4-1 thinking they could just cruise to the 7th. Royals found out differently and this is where the Giant experience of being in recent previous WS has paid off by not panicking when it was 4-1. My prediction will be the Royals will have to sweep at home. No way the Giants want to come back to KC having to sweep.

With Shields pitching and the Giants already handing this guy's arse to him in the first game in KC and now at home after last night's shellacking. Giant confidence is riding high. Stating the obvious I realize but just emotionally prepare yourself for tonight is all I am saying.:thumb:
