Cardinals extend Carson Palmer
|
I expect him to go to shit immediately
This week Even if they are on a bye week ROFL |
Jesus ****.
Did he get younger? I imagine he's better than he was at Oakland, but FUUUUCK. |

Everyone thought Randy Moss was done there too at the time. |
All he's guaranteed is $20 million, which puts him in the upper enchilada of QB's
|
its 2008 Arizona all over again
veteran QB at the end with whatever juice he has left. Bunch of young talent around him. not as good as Warner but it is the exact same roster construction concept. lol took them 5/6 years to re-do it. |

It's amazing that there are thousands of people viewing Chiefsplanet at every minute of the day that absolutely have no idea what's happening in the NFL.
This forum has become the TMZ of the Chiefs. |

Where else are you going to find out which Chiefs players and coaches went to Best Buy? |

My bad. |
He's 34, so he has some mileage left on the tires.
Makes the Alex Smith deal look even better if you ask me. |
That's roughly the same as the Alex Smith deal, is it not?
Approximately $17m/year. |
I'm surprised they paid him that much just considering his age. Do they really think he's gonna be playing at a high level when he's 37? Hmmmm.....at least there is no guaranteed money past next year. Next year would be a good time for them to draft a good young QB to start developing.
|
Good for him. Glad he got out of the shithole in the black hole.

I was there for an Oakland-Royals game in 1993 and not only was it empty, it was the biggest hunk of junk I've ever seen in my entire life. For those of you old enough to remember (and I don't even know if it's there any more) but the Shawnee Mission South football stadium was literally 1,000 times nicer than the Oakland Coliseum. If the Roman Gods were still alive, they would cry at the use of the word "Coliseum" and shoot arrows from the sky. |
He'll probably be out for the season with an injury in the next couple of weeks.

Aaaaaaaand all of a sudden Alex's contract doesn't look so bad.

Chiefs murray bray, cardinals Logan Thomas. I like it |
It seems like a really good deal for both sides. Palmer has been playing very well, borderline great since the second half of last season. He's thrown a at least two TDs in every game he's played this year while only throwing two picks. If he keeps playing well next year, he will get the 2016 money, if not, he won't. Same goes for the following year.
Only guaranteeing one year makes it a damn good deal for AZ IMO. |
that whole team is smoke and mirrors
It won't last. Cards will be regretting this by this time next year. |

Not much else the Cards could do given that their current QBotF is Logan Thomas.
|
So you are saying is like us they don't have a legit QBOTF

Four or five combined playoff appearances, one or two wins between both teams and zero superbowls. The silver lining for both Arizona and Kansas City is that the best young QB among the six other teams is Russell Wilson, so they're in no danger of being like the Jags and Titans who'll be getting fist****ed by Andrew Luck for the next decade. Both franchises can try and Moneyball their way into the playoffs year in and year out. |

Steve Keim (sp?) has been excellent in his tenure as GM so far. Very Dorseyesque in turning over the roster. Giving up only a 6th rounder for Carson and finding gems later in the draft: Ellington, John Brown and the honey badger are all looking like great picks. Arians is a hell of a coach as well. All that said, I'm no cardinals apologist but living down here I see a lot of them. I'd be shocked if them fall apart quickly with Keim/Arians running the show. |

Palmer is going to destroy this secondary in a few weeks.

I want to see Gaines covering John Brown in that game, only guy I trust to match him step for step down the field. |

Believed to be ACL.
|
That Big Smoke guy really called that one.
|
didn't he blow his knee during that one Bengals playoff run too? ROFL
|
The knee he tore his ACL is the same one that he tore before.
Haha 50 mil for a injury prone QB |
|
However Drew Stanton isn't your average backup QB. He could be a starter on a couple of teams
|

|
all that pocket money pulled him down

Let me break this down for you.
Qbs clay has pimped. Geno, Ben, Dalton, Romo, Palmer. Geno Sucks, Ben Imploded, Dalton had the worst game EVER Romo broke shit in his back, Palmer tore his ACL. But some how he cant curse Alex Smith. Whats up with that? |

Because I now believe this team is going somewhere. |
Wow.
What unbelievably shitty luck. Drop 50 million on a guy and have him go out and get injured the very next game. |
Quote:
|
If I remember right, only the first of the three years in Palmer's contract is guaranteed. They have an option to release him after the first year at no cost to the team.
Anyone saying the Cardinals are long-term screwed might be mistaken. |
Quote:
Not with Drew Stanton. |
Quote:
|
Not sure Carson will have the determination this time around IF they can rebuild his knee. Didn't he come back in some phenomenally short period for the knee injury he had? I'd give it up
|
How bad is his knee? Has any info been released on it yet?
|
Quote:
You always think the worst when you see a guy go down with a severe injury like that without any contact on it whatsoever. He went to plant the leg and the knee just went. |
Quote:
:hmmm: things get bad |
His agent certainly has some great timing.
A few days later and Palmer would get shit. |

Cursed franchises: Arizona, Detroit, Buffalo
|
I actually feel bad for the Cardinals and Palmer.
I was sold when he was tearing it up in Cincy before the first knee injury. He was garbage after that pretty much until this. Damn bad luck but he just got paid. The Cards have to be thinking why didn't this happen a week ago. |

As crazy as it seems I dont really think losing Palmer is as big of a deal as alot of people may think. Palmer hasnt even played half of the season due to injury and Stanton was solid in relief of him. The only loss this season was against Denver and Stanton was injured in that game. Theyre a very solid, balanced, and well coached team overall. They'll be fine.
