Pacquiao vs. Algieri

Algieri is a huge dog, but I hope he can outwork Manny from distance. Algieri is a really unique figure--has a graduate degree and lives in his parents' basement.

kcxiv 11-22-2014 11:07 PM

Algeri fights like Floyd. This might be a boring fight. Im watching it, but he's a hit and run kinda guy. He frustrated the hell of our Provodnikov with that style.

You gotta go w/ what your traits are. Former kickboxer, too.

ooh no doubt about it. Its why i dont talk shit about floyd and his style. Its within the rules and he's above great at it, it just doesnt make for fun fights for the fans. So people might get frustrated. Its the Machida style of MMA lol

Floyd is a great fighter, but his style is somewhat bitchmade, I'll agree. I don't know why, but I've always disliked Pacquiao, and Algieri is incredibly likable.

'Hamas' Jenkins 11-22-2014 11:18 PM

Michael Buffer is 70 years old. Crazy.

i remember him doing his thing in the late 80's when i was just a kid.

Algieri's long ass legs lets him move around the ring with the quickness

jjjayb 11-22-2014 11:22 PM

Jesus Christ I hate watching boxers run all over the ring. Fight you ****ing pussy.

'Hamas' Jenkins 11-22-2014 11:23 PM

Algieri is going to need to step on a few straight rights to make Pacquiao respect him.

jjjayb 11-22-2014 11:24 PM

If Algieri and Mayweather fought, would any punches be thrown in the first 3 rounds?

kcxiv 11-22-2014 11:24 PM

Algieri has no power though.

they would both stay on the other side of the ring from one another

kcxiv 11-22-2014 11:26 PM

Algieri is doing absolutely NOTHING.

'Hamas' Jenkins 11-22-2014 11:26 PM

That was a slip. Bad break.

That's what he gets for running. I don't feel a bit sorry.

Jewish Rabbi 11-22-2014 11:31 PM

Algieri is gonna hafta pull something out of his ass.

'Hamas' Jenkins 11-22-2014 11:31 PM

Algieri isn't going to win a decision with this crowd and in this location. His gameplan is interesting, but is too passive.

kcxiv 11-22-2014 11:33 PM

Manny is ****ing him up now. wow

kcxiv 11-22-2014 11:34 PM

3-0 with the knock down up 4 rounds already.

Jewish Rabbi 11-22-2014 11:34 PM

Shit, what's that one gonna be? 10-7?

'Hamas' Jenkins 11-22-2014 11:34 PM

He's afraid to let his right hand go.

kcxiv 11-22-2014 11:38 PM

best round for Algieri and he still lost it.

Jewish Rabbi 11-22-2014 11:38 PM

I'm no boxing expert by any means, but what kind of strategy is "get your ass kicked for 4 rounds before you start fighting"?

'Hamas' Jenkins 11-22-2014 11:39 PM

That's how you can use size against Pacquiao. Even leaning down on him in the clinch was a smart play.

kcxiv 11-22-2014 11:41 PM

lol 2nd knockdown.

kcxiv 11-22-2014 11:42 PM

this is already out of reach to win on points lol

'Hamas' Jenkins 11-22-2014 11:42 PM

That turned this one into a blowout. He just doesn't have enough power to make Pacqiauo respect his length.

'Hamas' Jenkins 11-22-2014 11:47 PM

Algieri is getting dominated, but the ref hasn't done him many favors.

kcxiv 11-22-2014 11:54 PM

they should have stopped the fight, wtf was the ref thinking

jjjayb 11-22-2014 11:54 PM

Counted to 10 and still let him fight?

'Hamas' Jenkins 11-22-2014 11:55 PM

Algieri is totally outclassed, but he's got some tremendous heart.

jjjayb 11-22-2014 11:56 PM

Exactly where you need to be? Really? This is your gameplan?

kcxiv 11-22-2014 11:58 PM

his corner needs to throw in the damn towel. are they ****ing reeruned.

No. You hear the trainer. This is exactly where they want to be. :doh!:

lol ya, he's got them trust him! he knows what he's doing lol HIs ass isnt in there taking a beating.

'Hamas' Jenkins 11-23-2014 12:03 AM

I'm trying to think of a more incompetent corner performance. The only thing that comes to mind is Tyson's corner forgetting an endswell against Douglas.

jjjayb 11-23-2014 12:04 AM

Dude took a few damn good shots in that round. Head turning shots. Surprised he stayed up.

kcxiv 11-23-2014 12:07 AM

Manny let him live at the end. lol

jjjayb 11-23-2014 12:08 AM

Ending the fight the way he started it. Running away. Of course, with his corner, he probably thinks he's winning.

jjjayb 11-23-2014 12:09 AM

After an easy nights work, Manny is off to the karaoke bar.

kcxiv 11-23-2014 12:10 AM

1 judge gave a clean 12-0 sweep and the other 2 it was 11-1. That was generous on their part too.

What round could you give to him? I didn't see one.

Didn't they have what about mounted to a balloon filled with ice lol?

was stupid to anyone who paid that much to begin with lol I could understand if people got it with others pitching say 15 in with friends, but to just order and pay the whole 70, **** that.

Two years ago I would have claimed Pac would take Mayweather - Not now though - Floyd would beat him by decision. I truly believe that - he's faster and smarter.

Simply Red 11-23-2014 07:04 AM

& I do NOT like FM.

kcxiv 11-23-2014 07:44 AM

There will be no fight anyways Floyd rather fight Amir Khan someone he knows that can't touch him

Bowser 11-23-2014 10:22 AM

Floyd will belly up and fight Pac ala Tyson finally getting in with Lennox Lewis - when both guys are past their prime (or at the very least the better part of a decade past when the fight SHOULD have happened).

Tyson only fought Lewis because of money. He was a totally shot fighter at that point. Hell, Tyson only fought after prison at all because of money. Although Lewis retired shortly thereafter, he was near the peak of his powers.

Mayweather is bad enough with money that perhaps he ends up needing to take that fight, but I don't know if I'd bet on it. Floyd is a great boxer, but the guy has ducked and dodged more opponents than any great boxer in history.

CoMoChief 11-23-2014 01:22 PM

boxing is pretty much dead.

Well no shit.

Sleazy promoters, alphabet soup, and the reality that other athletic ventures offer tremendous lifestyles with far less danger spelled doom for boxing.

The great American boxers are all in the NBA and NFL, and I can't blame them.

I went to a sports bar to watch it. The undercards were dogshit and I had a feeling Pac would dominate Algeri so I spent $10 on a cover and $30 on beer and food.

Deberg_1990 11-23-2014 02:13 PM

Pacquiao is like 75 years old now

ghak99 11-23-2014 02:35 PM

I found the Beyond The Lines question and answer session, or whatever it's called, with Pac prior to this fight pretty interesting.

If the Pac vs Money fight doesn't happen in the next ~2 years, I won't give two shits about the fight. Part of me hopes Pac retires before Money goes broke and has to come asking for the payday, just so he can tell him to **** off from his presidential throne. LMAO

MahiMike 11-23-2014 02:43 PM

Shoot. I missed it.

KC native 11-23-2014 07:11 PM

LMAO @ anyone who thinks Mayweather is going broke anytime soon. He'll pull in almost $100 million per year for the next 3 years.
