This is gonna hurt Clays feelings.

SPATCH 12-16-2014 06:24 PM

I was wondering why we would care that Alex Smith was rated better than Anthony Sherman

I never agreed with Clay about Smith.

No wonder phillbin is getting fired they let go of vontae davis and sean smith they could have had an amazing backfeild.

I was wondering this as well.
Then again, have we ever seen Sherman throw a pass? :hmmm:

notorious 12-16-2014 06:26 PM

Bullshit.

Sherman can throw a better deep ball than Alex.

The Franchise 12-16-2014 06:26 PM

Just goes to show that Miami ****ed itself with the scheme it was running. They had both Smith AND Vontae Davis and let them both leave.

Rausch 12-16-2014 06:26 PM

Anyone who'd take Smith over Sherman should be shot on site...

Pasta Little Brioni 12-16-2014 06:26 PM

He has been outstanding this year. Just needs to snag a few picks.

That's why phillbin is on his way out.

I love the "isn't that great against elite receivers and a good QB" argument.

Smith is awesome.

No.

If you have the choice to throw on Smith or Cooper who do you throw on?

Cooper.

Smith or Parker?

Parker.

Smith or a rookie Gaines?

Gaines...

I guess that's why Eric Warfield was considered so good.

Dumbass

If we could get gaines and Fleming healthy together to go with smith, we have some good young corners.

C'mon, dude.

Why in the world are people bagging on our corners? Anyone who watches games knows Smith gets targeted plenty and still plays well. And what game are we pointing to where Gaines or Fleming were torched all game long?

Not every one of our players is terrible, contrary to popular belief.

keg in kc 12-16-2014 07:01 PM

The fact that nobody here has been complaining about him 99% of the time this season is probably an even bigger indicator of how well he's playing.

For a short time that was a ****ing beastly secondary.

Carter/Hasty in their prime were probably the best combo in the league. Perhaps Philly had one better. That'd be it...

Marcellus 12-16-2014 09:50 PM

I cant even count how many off season and TC arguments I had with people who said he sucked and had been relegated to 2nd team because of play and it had nothing to do with his DUI.

Even though he was by far our best CB last season.

Eleazar 12-16-2014 09:53 PM

Smith has played well this year except for a few spots, I think. He deserves credit. He seems to be developing.

It's just too bad the rest of the secondary resembles the Benny Hill show.

Hasty would be getting flagged every other play for his "bump" coverage.

If what Hasty did was 'bump' then we all owe Ray Rice an apology.

I don't get it. Why are people saying this? Fleming and Gaines and Owens have been playing just fine. Hell of a lot better than people expected.

We're not getting beat in the passing game.

No 300 yard games allowed. Top 2 pass defense, yet folks still talk like the defense is Shit. I don't get it. It's as dumb as **** as calling the team "awful". Which we still see all the time. People don't pay attention to other games.

It is hit or miss on games. The main culprits on defense is not rotating lineman and our mlb being poor at tackling and angles.

offense is the main problem.

refusal to use rbs appropriately. Not benching certain linemen. Play calling. No adjustments.

Yup.

Add in QB who can't close or convert third downs and this is a good list.

Well Mcglynn finally got benched

Hurt during the Cards game I don't remember that.

Seattle has faced the fewest pass attempts this season.

And they grade on a cumulative scale.

And I don't know how you credit Sherman for catching passes Kaepernick throws to him when the WR actually did get some space. And didn't he drop another 1 he could of had in that game.

Hootie 12-17-2014 12:26 PM

I see Clay hasn't chimed in. Color me unsurprised.

Hootie 12-17-2014 12:27 PM

Now?
