Nice to see a qb actually take shots downfield!

I appreciate DB. Thank you, Dwanye.
I'm very sorry the Chiefs never got a really good qb to throw you the ball.

I want Bowe on my team. what he has done with the QB's he's had is pretty remarkable.

Why in the Hell would we get rid of our best WR when there isn't another player worth a shit behind him? His salary is expensive, but you think we sucked this year, trying going in with Sandy V and Wilson next year as the starters, we'll be the laughingstock of the NFL.

The Franchise 12-23-2014 11:37 AM

It's crazy to watch a video where the QB actually throws the ball to his WRs.

They can get out of his contract and it won't cost anything against the cap.

Look at that pass from Cassel to Bowe vs the Titans. Alex would NEVER attempt that pass.Wow I can't believe I'm saying this but I miss Cassel.

I hope enough QBs pull out of the Pro Bowl so that Smith is gifted a spot. It would be hilarious to see him constantly check down with Calvin Johnson and AJ Green on the outside.

We need speed and Bowe has none. Dorsey can get a receive in the second round that impacts a game more than what Bowe does now and it won't cost anything. Hell, Wilson has done more than Bowe lately.

Good bye Bowe.

His salary would be the only reason to dump him, because plain and simple, he's the best WR we have.

That's how Bill Kenney became a "pro bowl" QB. He was like the fourth or fifth alternate after a bunch of guys begged off playing that year.

Shit, Casshole is a "pro bowl" QB.

Bowe is appreciated for sure. Can only imagine how great of a career he would have had if he spent his prime playing with a quarterback that was worth a damn.

All had better yards per catch average. Paige and Burford had more TDs than Bowe. Burford played in a Super Bowl. Taylor played in two Super Bowls. Bowe has played in none.

Paige held an NFL record for the most yards receiving in one game. December 22, 1985, Paige had 309 yards receiving yards versus the San Diego Chargers, an NFL record until it was broken in 1989 by Flipper Anderson of the Los Angeles Rams with 336 yards; Anderson's record holds an asterisk since it was broken in overtime.

Carlos Carson has as many Pro Bowl appearances as Bowe.

Speed gets recievers open quickly. Bowe almost never has good separation and he simply takes too long to go from zero to sixty and that limits his ability and routes he can run. Every DB knows he will not even attempt to run by them thus making him easier to cover.

Even bigger problem is Smith can't drop back and survey the field because our OL is such crap. That is the reason for all the dump offs more than anything else, not Andy's offense.

There are many good receivers that don't have blazing speed. That isn't how bowe is built and we've known this since day one. Yet somehow, every qb he's played with has made use of him until now.

gblowfish 12-23-2014 01:43 PM

I'd venture to say Chris Burford is the second greatest receiver ever for KC, after Otis Taylor. Otis should be in the Pro Football HOF, and it's a crime that he is not a member.

Paige, Carson and Marshall are not in the Chiefs Hall of Honor. I doubt Bowe makes it either for his history of off the field issues. Character matters.

I still say the OL has ruined our offense more than anything. It's the one thing that changed from last season when. They suck and have all year. Did Matt not have a better OL that let him have a little time? Bowe needs time to get going, it's not by accident Wilson is the one they sent deep a few times.

Something is not right this year. Either with him, Smith, Reid, the line or a combination of all of them. Smith went to him last year so you can't say Smith doesn't trust him. There has to be something we don't know about to explain the lack of WR production in general, not just Bowe.

He will be back after a big restructure.

I don't think he will have any big takers out there and the will want him back but only if he agrees to a pay structure as a top #2 wr in the NFL.

That would be a win for both sides.

I'm wondering if these people are actually watching Bowe or are they just assuming that he doesn't because Smith won't throw him the ball.

Easy 6 12-23-2014 02:56 PM

I've done some yo-yoing with Bowe this year, but the more I watch Smith, the more I watch the games, the more I watch countless gifs and stills that show him running wide open deep within Smiths field of vision without a target... the more I realize that he's still the same Bowe that got everyone all wet in the panties years ago.

He still has the faults that've all been discussed ad nauseum over the years, yet he's still the same guy that can light it up when given the CHANCES... the dropped touchdown the other day? pffft, take all of the carping about it down the road to a town where someone gives a damn.

He shouldnt have had to WAIT until the 15th game LMAO to get a legit throw in the endzone, what the ***K Smith has been thinking this year sooo escapes me... he ended last season by calling dudes number to the tune of 150 and 2 td, and yet this year? bupkis, its inexplicable and 100% on Smith.

Bowe is ALWAYS going to drop a few, but if given enough chances he will ALWAYS make up for it... I have my doubts about it happening, but I'd still like to see him back next year as a two, he'd be one of the, if not the, best two in the league.

It supposedly goes Huard/Thigpen/Croyle/Cassel etc < Smith... yet why did Bowe produce so much better with those other jokers?

I used to listen to them, but I'm just finished hearing the "hands, routes, separation" argument about Bowe... if friggin Cassel can get it to him, then Smith certainly has no excuse not to.

15 games in and no touchdowns to a WR, an historic display of ineptitude... at what point DO you blame Smith?

Well, because winning and contributing to those wins matters more than WR stats.

You're tired of defending Smith too? Oh thank heavens, another convert.

What Smith is doing this year goes well beyond playing it safe, he is 15 ****ING GAMES IN without a receiver touchdown... I dont give a damn how its spun dude, that is one SERIOUSLY WEIRD stat, and there is no possible way to spin it into a positive, much less justify it.

Started earlier. 3 double Jim and cokes in Jacksonville airport. Heading to Atlanta then home.

InChiefsHeaven 12-23-2014 05:17 PM

Bowe did not just wake up and start sucking. Something really strange happened this season. I think it started with the offensive line regression, causing Smith to totally lose focus and confidence, causing Reid to call even dumber games with short passes and dump offs constantly...or something like that.

This offense doesn't look anything like it did at the end of last season, where the defense imploded but the offense was actually really good the last 6 games. The big difference? The offensive line...and Mcluster...and I refuse to believe that he was such a difference maker.

I don't know. But we got seriously exposed this year on offense. There's so much that needs to be fixed. It's the line, the QB, the coach and THEN Bowe. IMO.

Man, you're ****ing wrong, Tuck.

Bowe didnt change, its Smith that changed... he felt the pressure of increased expectations after last year and withdrew even further into his "safe" shell. Disagree if you wish and I dont care, but what you're essentially saying is that Cassel and Huard were better QB's than Smith.

jonzie04 12-23-2014 06:41 PM

Bowe needs to go. He's a solid possession wr, but he and alex clearly arent going to work well together. Smith needs a WR who can get separation quickly, and can generate YAC, bowe cant do either very well. Bowe doesn't even need separation, all he needs are position, and leverage, but that will never be enough for smith.

Mr. Flopnuts 12-23-2014 06:41 PM

I've talked a lot of shit on Bowe this year but he's a very good teammate and this isn't his fault. It's a shame he's leaving, because there is no ****ing way we're paying him what he's making now, and with everything he's been through I have no doubt he's leaving to experience some success. He'll be comeback player of the year next year.
