Mariota sucks ! Why is he ranked #1 ?
My god !

He's playing a stud defense with NFL speed.
Mariotta is decent , but not amazing. |
He's no JFF, Hog.
|
So, enjoying the game?
|
Not everyone can be Sanchez.
Sorry. |
Peyton Manning is a better QB than Tom Brady.
|
His best two receivers aren't available tonight
|
Bridgewateresque, yes?
|
16/21 currently. 178 yds. 8.4 avg. 1TD. It's not yet half. Oh, and fumbles and dropped passes (with one of his WR out).
How, exactly, is he sucking? |

Oh, and Cleveland Browns. |
i know he won't drop....but if he did, do you think reid/dorsey would take him?
|
The stupid on this forum.
|
Oh I meant 'Manzielesque, right?'
I get some of you homers mixed up. |

How's his long ball, does he have a decent arm?
|
Hog farmer is still just pissed about Jonny foosball
|
Dude throws nearly everything within a couple of yards of the LOS and lofts an occasional lollipop to a WR downfield if the DB bites on the underneath stuff, and he's wide open. He doesn't fire the ball into tight windows.
|
Not worth the risk.

He has tonight a couple of times. Late each time. IIRC.

So, his receivers are "Alex Smith" open? LMAO |
He's had two big passes dropped...

Just wait...
All the usual dickhead "experts" in the media who have hyped him as 1.1 will suddenly change their opinions on him...after the NFL scouts at the combine leak that his stock is falling. There will be talk that he could even be the third QB taken. Then, someone will grab him too high because...QB. |

I won't pretend I'm an expert, but I just don't see NFL throws coming from him. |

Reminds me of Sanchez at the same stage. |

That being said Marriotta isn't Luck but he far from sucks. I would take him before Winston all day every day. |

Saccopoo is down on Winston. So that means that Winston will succeed admirably at the NFL level, correct? :Poke: |
Quote:
I don't think he sucks but I would have liked to see more zip on that ball and out a little farther in front. |

If he was a WR or RB, maybe. To be a QB brains are as much an asset as physical ability. Character equals lack of brains. Leaf, George, Russell, look at early big bust QB's, lack of physical ability is not the issue, ever. |

Cam Newton had a couple of scandals. Ben Roethlisberger raped a woman. Making mistakes doesn't always equal lack of brains. |

I doubt this game hurts Mariota Stakes in the draft if he comes out. He was overwhelmed buy superior athletes across the board. This happens in College. I do think there may be some questions on arm strength and accuracy. He will need a great pro day to be top of the draft.
|
He'll be at the top. He protects the ball so well and that's a valuable skill, whereas Winston doesn't. He's 6-4 220 and he's smart and he's not a behavior risk/liked by teammates. He will go 1

I'm not impressed with Mariota or Winston. However, if the Chiefs had the top pick I'm sure I would talk myself into to believing one of them could be worth a shit
|
How many more years before Andrew Luck talent comes out?

I'd take Winston and Jones before Mariota. Mariota is a work in progress, IMO, whereas Winston and Jones could start from day one and improve over the course of the season.

there's a reason Pittsburgh has superbowls and a rapist QB and we have Alex Smith and nothing... |
running ability in college shouldn't be considered at all when evaluating QBs for the NFL. It's a bonus.
too often it doesn't translate because if the prospect cannot throw the ball at the nfl leve the defenses just shut the run down completely. scouts have to be concerned about Mariota |

Now, I'm not saying he'd pull a Big Ben and lead a team to a 15-1 record but whoever drafts him is going to get a helluva QB that will improve over the course of the season. |
Quote:
I haven't seen him make throws into tight windows or anticipate receivers coming open and throwing to a spot. I have seen him throw a few nice deep balls that his receivers have made great catches on and I've seen him use his feet to extend drives and plays. |

Winston will go #1. Don't know if either will start immediately.

Despite the fact that he's only started three games, two of which were championship games that he won handily, he reminds me a lot of Big Ben during his Miami of Ohio days. I think a QB needy teams like the Jets, Bills, Texans, Browns, Bucs and Titans have probably begun their due diligence on him. If he lasts until #18, I'd be unbelievably stoked if the Chiefs took him. |
