On average, which flavor ice cream do you bring home from the grocery store?

When you or your significant other are doing your normal grocery shopping, which flavor ice cream most often finds it's way into the home freezer?

I only ask because my buddy just told me that Rum Raisin is what is normally in his family freezer. Just seems like such an odd choice.

Hammock Parties 02-15-2015 06:00 PM

Some combination of chocolate. Moose tracks is a favorite.

What really pisses me off is those neapolitan ice cream sandwiches at Hyvee. I DON'T WANT ANY STRAWBERRY SHIT SANDWICHES. I JUST WANT THE CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM SANDWICHES.

WHY DON'T YOU SELL THOSE IN PACKS OF 12?

Scorp 02-15-2015 06:00 PM

Bugeater 02-15-2015 06:01 PM

Any kind of fruit in ice cream is disgusting.

I used to buy Edy's chocolate chip or Neapolitan, but that was before chemo gave me cold sensitivity and ice cream feels like it has cactus needles in it now. :(

Rocky Road or Vanilla with a tub of strawberries.

I don't go to the grocery store.

Fire Me Boy! 02-15-2015 06:13 PM

Wife always goes with some kind of cookie or candy bar ice cream. I'm more of a traditional vanilla, chocolate, or Neapolitan. I occasionally like mint chocolate chip.

Hammock Parties 02-15-2015 06:16 PM

Reminder: Haagen Dazs is the only real ice cream in the grocery store. None of the others have eggs. Real ice cream has eggs.

Buehler445 02-15-2015 06:16 PM

Chocolate Almond
Chocolate Chip
Vanilla.

Donger 02-15-2015 06:18 PM

I have a duality issue with ice cream. I love French Vanilla, as long as the bean bits aren't too large. But, I hate the French genetically and in all other tangible ways. Therefore, my guilt when I eat and enjoy French Vanilla is doubly horrible and wonderful.

Not true. Ice cream doesn't have to start with custard.

In any case, if you can find some Graeter's in the store, it is The Best.

I don't eat it often. Anything with chocolate is good. Topped with almonds and strawberries is good. Topped with m&m's or heath pieces is good.

Perineum Ripper 02-15-2015 06:21 PM

Chocolate chip ice cream for me

LoneWolf 02-15-2015 06:22 PM

On the few occasions a year that we eat ice cream, it is always homemade.

We don't keep ice cream at the house, simply because it would just be gone within a day or so and we try to eat eliminate all unhealthy foods at the house. When we get a hankering for ice cream we always head down to our local ice cream parlor. Dewars Ice Cream

The marshmallow mellow topping is amazing and I don't like even like regular marshmallows. It's basically the best ice cream ever.

This is us, as well. When we do bring home ice cream, it's usually Rocky Road or Homemade Vanilla from Blue Bell.

If we bring home ice cream, which only during family nights where we eat junk food and watch movies it's pistachio or moose tracks for me and Reese's peanut butter for the wife.

Mr. Flopnuts 02-15-2015 06:44 PM

Blue Bell is by far our favorite. By. Far. Moolineum crunch, and southern blackberry cobbler are our gotos.

Dude, I'm from Seattle and couldn't get it there. By far, the best ever. From the store. Andy's here in Branson/Springfield makes my dick hard just thinking about it.

srvy 02-15-2015 06:57 PM

Breyers Mint Chocolate chip if its from a carton. I had first when was a lil guy and Dad would drive us to Velvet Freeze in NKC. I also liked that peppermint ice cream from velvet freeze. The one with vanilla and flecks or green and red peppermint candy. I dont remember who made it but wife bought home a carton of vanilla and orange sherbert. Tasted like the orange dream bars from the good humor truck.

I've always considered Blue Bunny a Blue Bell knock off due to the similarity in names.

Ben and Jerry's Heath Bar Crunch (coffee and vanilla) when they made it. I haven't bought any ice cream since they stopped using Heath bar and went to a shitty substitute.

BucEyedPea 02-15-2015 10:11 PM

It's a toss up between Häagen-Dazs strawberry or pistachio or Breyers chocolate chip. Depends on what phase I am going through. It was Rocky Road for awhile until I got tired of it.

This may sound crazy but Ben and Jerry's is to sweet. They load it with so much crap that its hard to recognize its ice cream. If I want a candy bar I will buy one. If I want ice cream that's what I want not overpowered by the other ingredients. Every time I've ate it I feel sick my stomach after.
