Let's talk about cologne

What are you wearing?

I'm trying out artisan by john varvatos right now. The ladies in my classes and at work seem to approve. I'd highly recommend it.

BWillie 11-09-2015 07:48 PM

I roll around in bull semen before I go out. Seems to do the trick.

Eleazar 11-09-2015 07:48 PM

I just use bacon grease. Your mammy loves it.

And you don't want the cologne going to the woman. You want the woman to come to the cologne.

Sex Panther. 60% of the time it works every time.

Canofbier 11-09-2015 08:47 PM

My two go-tos for now are Hugo Boss Dark Blue and Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio. The Armani is fresh but relatively understated (and can therefore be used in most situations) and the Boss is a bit stronger but not overly musky (smells a bit like Coke at first; only way I can think to describe it). I also have a pretty bright-smelling Nautica cologne, but I think I bought a knock-off and it only lasts for a few hours so I use it a bit less frequently.

Unless you wear cologne every day, I don't think it's necessary to have more than a few options, especially if they're all quite different from one another.

Gonzo 11-09-2015 08:54 PM

Versace pour homme FTW. Best cologne on the market.

Rain Man 11-09-2015 08:54 PM

I wore cologne occasionally in my twenties, but now I just let my natural pheromones run free.

Squalor2 11-09-2015 09:05 PM

if it wasnt for the hedgerows, cologne would have been taken a month sooner.

I bought this today - on Ebay for $45 which is VERY reasonable - I paid $125 for the L'Homme at Neiman Marcus - got ganked on that deal

I don't like cologne or perfume for that matter. It makes me sick. I can't even walk through that section in a department store without getting a bad physical reaction.

Now using sesame oil will not only penetrate to you bone marrow and make you healthier but you'll also smell like Chinese take-out while it does your body some good. I can deal with that.

Well, I wouldn't hate you but you'd make me sneeze alot, get watery eyes etc. That wouldn't be much fun.

I like the smell of gunpowder, metal and sweat though. In addition to sesame.

It's a great choice. Go ebay though - don't go designer retail store, it's full retail - which is $125 - dumb I paid that - but oh well. Ebay $70-

Simply Red 11-09-2015 10:54 PM

yes I recall Kouros.

Simply Red 11-09-2015 10:56 PM

also FP - you only need one shot - right in the sternum and I'll draw my finger up to my neck w/ it. perfect amt. as it's oil based.

God that sounded gay - no homo BTW.

I think you may have recommended that brand several years back. I bought some years ago and still have it. It smells so good.

What's next? 'pwn'ing a 'best color for a Member's Only jacket' argument?

I believe the embroidery reads: "If you can read this, my boyfriend fell off my scooter."

007 11-10-2015 03:19 AM

I'd rather not talk about it really. I'm allergic to most colognes and perfumes. Its damned annoying too.

Especially when going to church and sitting around someone that swims in the shit.

I feel your pain. It flares up my asthma something wicked. I sound like I belong in a TB ward.

ReynardMuldrake 11-10-2015 05:25 AM

I like making my own. I look up the components on a site like basenotes, build something similar and go from there.
