Trying to find that ****ing ambien walrus...

Someone should PM me if they've seen him. I've got a bone to pick with that guy.

FlaChief58 11-13-2015 02:45 PM

I don't know about a walrus, but a friend of mine gave me an ambien when I ****ed my back up and couldn't sleep. That shit knocked me out for 12 hours

KC native 11-13-2015 02:47 PM

You can't find the ambien walrus because you ARE the ambien walrus.

KNOW THYSELF!

I took ambien for four years and recently stopped. It took me about two weeks to finally start sleeping right. Glad I did it. I'll never take that shit again.

Anybody ever seen the movie "Tusk"?

Somebody explained the entire plot to me in great detail and I couldn't stop laughing. It sounded like such a bad movie that I wouldn't even want to watch it on bad movie night.

Those taking ambien please send some with great haste. My doc wants me to take seroquel for sleep. Go **** yourself doc. Not a fan of an anti-psychotic being used for sleep. Maybe I'm overreacting.

I'm drunk, could take Ambien, and not sleep. That's why I'm on Ambien :(

Edit: Still best option. Just don't eat a god damn thing 2 hours before ya take it.

my doc gave my amitriptyline for sleep. I used that shit exactly 3 times before I got rid of the script. I demanded a script for ambien. Took it for a year but hate the fog that it left me in and I had a hell of a time waking up in the morning... had to set 3 alarms.

at this point I would rather not sleep.

rocknrolla 11-14-2015 03:30 AM

I tolerate ambien well, but my doc says they are a "conservative" practice, and don't feel comfortable giving it to most patients.

I guess I'll try out the seroquel tomorrow, unless I can find someone looking to get rid of some ambien.

I would tell them to give you some ****ing ambien or you will find a doctor that actually listens to their patient.

I take seroquel. At bedtime. Effects on sleep are minimal at best.

This is my problem also. I can't sleep without it, and sometimes not with it, but I wake up about 3 am and can't get back to sleep even with it. My doctor gave me Trazadone to take with it and it helps a lot. Between the two I usually sleep through the night.

Thursday I wasn't allowed to take either because I had a medical procedure yesterday with general anesthesia. I maybe got a total of 2 hours of sleep, in increments of 15 minutes scattered throughout the night. Ambien isn't perfect but it is better than going through that every night.

The insomnia comes from my rheumatoid arthritis.

Yes. I can't lay in one position long before it hurts. So I toss and turn all night. It's common with RA.

It's more a sedative.

You'll still hurt just not care.

It's pretty much SOMA...

Good for you. You must not have a chronic disease causing your insomnia. Working "harder" would inflame my RA and cause me to have more pain that night - and LESS sleep.

Lol **** yourself.

My post was stating what I do when I have issues sleeping. I'm betting doing the same would help most people that have the issue.

People are lazy, most don't do strenuous work. I know when I didn't work hard when I can't sleep, I can ****ing point right at it. Just like you can point at your affliction as the reason.

I said how I take care of my issue just like you talked about how you try to take care of yours

SAUTO 11-14-2015 03:44 PM

And your point of me not knowing what caused people in this thread not to be able to sleep was a ****ing idiotic one when you stated again your issue. I can read and had already read multiple times you saying what your issue is.

Dumb ass

Maybe just go down to the local park with a sign that says:

Maybe take a few before you do...just to cloud up the input receptors.

I don't take another when I wake up at 3 either, mainly because I get up at 4:30am on weekdays. So usually I lay there trying to sleep, then about 4:15 I fall asleep just in time for the alarm to go off. :(

I don't take sedatives for rheumatoid arthritis. It is an autoimmune disease and needs immunosuppressives. I take Methotrexate. I also take Prednisone and Naproxen for the inflammation. These are some serious and potentially dangerous drugs, but better than the alternative.

Then I take Ambien and Trazadone for sleep.

If you're taking Ambien so you can sleep due to your RA pain, then you're effectively taking a sedative for RA. It works via the same mechanism as benzos, and although not as long-lasting, can still cause impairment, which is why it's a CIV drug.

FWIW, Mobic and Diclofenac are NSAIDs that work better than Naproxen and, in the case of Diclofenac, demonstrate efficacy on the lipooxygenase pathway as well as the COX pathway without the immunosuppressive effects of a glucocorticoid like prednisone or the risk of diabetes, whereas Naproxen only works on the COX pathway.
