Chiefs Defense
They started out slow but picking up steam,
#7 Defense overall #8 Scoring Defense #4 Rushing Defense #14 Passing Defense ALL, a huge improvement from 4 weeks ago Where do you guys think we end up at the end of the season ? Nobody left on the schedule that can put up numbers on us if we stay true. |
Tyrod Taylor's ability to escape the pocket, extend the play and makes passes downfield worries me. I don't like playing offenses with speed, and the Bills and Raiders have that.
|
Also #3 in turnover margin at +10
I can't find the stat on penalties but I believe we're in the top 3 least penalized. |
I used to think Oakland might do something against the Chiefs, but they suck against good defense.
Stay healthy, and STAY AGGRESSIVE this defense will be fine. |
Also, with McCown under center, that Browns offense puts up a lot of yardage.

Raiders #12 in total offense. Not worried ! |

That's nothing to sneeze at. |
This is a top 5 defense.
We will be ranked 5-10 in points allowed We will be in the top 5 in rush defense We will be in the top 10 in pass defense *Lastly I got wood but no orgasms yet. Do this in the playoffs then yes, orgasmic. |
One game at a time, but Arrowhead is going to be rowdy on Sunday. Taylor has never played in that kind of environment this year. Will be interesting to see how he handles it.
|
It is hard to remember back to when the Chiefs D. dominated both Denver and the Chargers on the road like they just did?? Maybe the DT years would be the closest comparison?
If they follow up those big wins with another shut out of the ****ing Bills- I would say they are for real. |
Also, this write up from NFL.com's weekly power rankings:
If you started Spencer Ware in fantasy Sunday, you ARE that guy in the FanDuel-changed-my-life commercials. Ware is far from the only offensive player who's stepped up in the Chiefs' four-game win streak. Not that it matters when the defense goes out and plays like the 2000 Ravens. Or is it the 1985 Bears? Thirty-nine points yielded over the past 16 quarters of football = elite D in 2015 ... or any other year, for that matter. One more note for the road: Anyone remember this article? Told ya. |
#8 scoring defense
#6 scoring offense. One of these days the D will catch up to the O. |

I hope Sutton dials up some blitzes- we will get to see how much this kid studies game film. I am guessing we can put pressure on him all day. |
I hadn't realized the spread over the past 4 games.
130 - 39. That is some serious ass-whooping folks. |

****ing amazing considering that they went into the bears game we were 2nd from last...Since then they've been playing at a historical level in terms of turnovers, sacks, and PPG.
|
great to see the Defense has gotten their heads out of their asses. I know its not against top notch teams outside of Denver, but their offense has been suspect at best. Our schedule isnt tough the rest of the way, but **** it, we usually always have one of the hardest schedules in football.
As shitty as the Chargers have been, their offense was putting up pretty big numbers and the defense completely owned them. |

We built a defense the way it should be - attack the QB and all else will follow... |
Derrick Johnson said that the Defense goes to dinner together every Friday night . .not just a few guys but the entire defense.. They said that is pretty rare in the NFL.
I think that translates onto the field .. you can see these guys really have each others backs and there is a chemistry there . |

Once the first guy gets a pick it's not usually the only one. The first sack usually leads to many more. And while our pass rush is a mother****er I still believe this will be the best secondary in the NFL next year... |

Now as for Oakland. Detroit's Slay held Cooper to 1 catch 4 yards. Smith should be able to do a fine job while Peters is on Crabtree. |
KC is playing like I thought they would....only it took 6 games to get started. In preseason, I thought it was the best roster in 20 years.
I've always said...once KC eventually beats Denver in Denver...things will have changed. The season just got interesting... |
Sutton started the season on his preferred bump/press man-to-man defense and got smoked. He's backed off again in the secondary but gotten more inventive with his blitzes. He's been getting more people involve in rushing the passer.
