If we lose, you're getting sent to AAA.

jimidollar 05-15-2016 12:03 PM

Go Royals! Show some fire today!

What?!

My track record here is outstanding!

****, I forgot this was Duffy's start. I have been super hard on him, borderline strong dislike for him being a mental midget. He'll probably get shelled.

He's averaging 96.5 this year vrs 93.7 last. So he's got that going for him.

C3HIEF3S 05-15-2016 12:10 PM

Main reason Salvy is in lineup today: He stormed into Ned's office post-game and demanded it. "We got to get a win," he told Ned. #Royals

Can't say they don't want it at least.

He can ramp up his velocity knowing he only has to go one inning out of the pen. Not uncommon, also happened with Hoch and Davis.

OH **** ! WE'RE THE GOD DAMN MONARCHS TODAY !

Well when you pitch an inning instead of a whole game, I expect your velocity to be higher. He's not been good at command of secondary pitches. Only so many times through a lineup can you throw your fastball before they start clobbering it, and/or your poorly located secondary pitches.

The ones that seems to care are Salvy (terrible hitting though), Hosmer and Moose. I wish Gordon would show some fire sometimes. I wish Cain would show some displeasure at times. I realize it's not their standard, but when things are going poorly, I wish they'd show a bit more emotion on occasion. I think the other guys would respond to seeing someone like them showing some rare fire.

C3HIEF3S 05-15-2016 12:23 PM

Rex must be at KU graduation commencement today.

tk13 05-15-2016 12:23 PM

Duffy hitting 98 on the gun.

Second time through the lineup will be his true test. Hitters seem to adjust to his speed well. Gonna need that curve/slider.

What we're missing is Ventura out there stirring shit up. Next time Gordy gets hit we need to retaliate and have a brawl. Last year we had fire. this year they are complacent.

C3HIEF3S 05-15-2016 12:26 PM

They aren't coming close to his heater.

Maybe not a full out brawl but throwing a helmet, getting upset or yelling at a pitcher when they hit us, which in some games we've been beaned more than once this year.

Munson 05-15-2016 12:30 PM

Wow. Esky almost had a lead off home run!

lewdog 05-15-2016 12:31 PM

ESKY with a leadoff hit.

Yes!

Nothing unifies a team more than a fist fight.

Hog's Gone Fishin 05-15-2016 12:34 PM

1-0 Monarchs

lewdog 05-15-2016 12:34 PM

Hosmer has looked very good all year.

Impressed.

Munson 05-15-2016 12:37 PM

Kendrys with another ugly strike out. I'm shocked.

lewdog 05-15-2016 12:38 PM

Kendry's looks like he's 38 years old.

tk13 05-15-2016 12:39 PM

It's like Kendrys can't even see the ball from that side of the plate.

I think he needs to have his right eye checked to see if it's blind.

HOO BOY!!!!!!!!

C3HIEF3S 05-15-2016 12:42 PM

DUFFY!! Holy shit!

tk13 05-15-2016 12:43 PM

That was sick. Even Hosmer couldn't contain his excitement before he caught it. The look on his face was great.

Deberg_1990 05-15-2016 12:57 PM

Huh???

Duff man looking super sharp.

Interesting history lesson

Deberg_1990 05-15-2016 01:03 PM

Our society has really become very casual.
People used to 'dress to the nines' all the time.

lewdog 05-15-2016 01:04 PM

Second time through the lineup.

Here we go!

Deberg_1990 05-15-2016 01:05 PM

And here comes the Duffy meltdown

SAUTO 05-15-2016 01:06 PM

Gotta get outta here

Mama Hip Rockets 05-15-2016 01:06 PM

Why is someone warming up in the bullpen?

Sounds like they have him on a pitch count

Munson 05-15-2016 01:08 PM

At the beginning of the game, they said he'd be limited to 40-50 pitches.

What's up with that guy?

Ok, mostly pitch count.

lewdog 05-15-2016 01:16 PM

Perfect pitch my ass, Monty!

Hog's Gone Fishin 05-15-2016 01:16 PM

Kendrys Morales 2016 - The Inning Killer

Deberg_1990 05-15-2016 01:19 PM

I miss Billy Butler

Hog's Gone Fishin 05-15-2016 01:19 PM

Morales needs to be sat down for about the next 130 games

wazu 05-15-2016 01:19 PM

Can we just let our pitchers hit?

Mama Hip Rockets 05-15-2016 01:21 PM

I don't understand why Duffy would be on a pitch limit. He threw 11 pitches on Wednesday, four days ago. This is Negro Leagues Day! He should be able to throw 130 pitches today and 140 tomorrow.

Deberg_1990 05-15-2016 01:22 PM

Inked up Aussie!

It's a nice way to say they don't trust him getting through a full lineup a second time.

And they're right.

Build some confidence in a short, but productive start.

He looked dominant the first time through. I think they need to give him a chance. He can't be any worse than Medlen & Young have been this year.

I realize that.

I think they will. Given his history of lacking confidence, I think they'll extend his starts slowly, but not in his first game back. Also, I think they realize they will have to lean on him quite a bit, so making sure his arm is ready for higher pitch counts isn't horrible....unless you're Trey Hillman.

KCUnited 05-15-2016 01:29 PM

The guy pitched 18 innings in 16 appearances so far this year. Gil Meche him!

I honestly think it's mostly a confidence thing and not trusting him fully. You'd never say that though, so pitch count is a great excuse.

KevB 05-15-2016 01:32 PM

I had no idea we were facing Maddux and Smoltz this weekend.

tk13 05-15-2016 01:34 PM

That was 100% pitch count. Duffy finished last year as a reliever too. No manager is going to take a guy in that situation and let him go 100 pitches. They'll stretch him out, and let him go a few more pitches each time until he finally gets to 100.

Hog's Gone Fishin 05-15-2016 01:36 PM

We're making the Braves pitching staff look stellar

tk13 05-15-2016 01:47 PM

The Braves do have a ridiculous amount of pitching prospects. I thought we'd hit Folty yesterday though... he's the kind of hard throwing wild pitcher we hit. Wisler is the type of guy I'd think would give us more problems.

The offshoot of them completely tearing down their team. They should be able to find 3-4 good pitchers out of the group. There's a bunch of legit prospects still on the way, aside from all the young players already there.

Deberg_1990 05-15-2016 01:54 PM

Denny hasn't died yet ?

WhawhaWhat 05-15-2016 01:58 PM

George Brett was hitting .269 on his birthday in 1980.

tk13 05-15-2016 02:03 PM

Hoch owes Salvy there. Framed that one up good.

lewdog 05-15-2016 02:08 PM

Hosmer is hitting at a legit clip this year.

God I love him.

Hog's Gone Fishin 05-15-2016 02:09 PM

**** Morales !

tk13 05-15-2016 02:10 PM

390 foot out into the wind. At least Morales put a good swing on a ball.

Munson 05-15-2016 02:13 PM

Bad decision to send him home. He was out by a mile.

Hog's Gone Fishin 05-15-2016 02:13 PM

So, Is our 3rd base coach a ****ing moron tooooo !

tk13 05-15-2016 02:14 PM

If Hosmer had tagged on Morales fly, he scores there.

RealSNR 05-15-2016 02:15 PM

Hosmer should've been able to tag and go to 3rd on that long fly from Morales. No ****ing reason at all for him to be that far ahead. If it drops, he's still going to score. And if it's a homer, well, obviously...

TribalElder 05-15-2016 02:18 PM

Soriaids

RealSNR 05-15-2016 02:18 PM

Christ, Soria.

3-0.

Asshole.

petegz28 05-15-2016 02:18 PM

so between our 3rd base coach anbd Hos's bad baserunning we are about to blow the lead....WTF was Hos not tagging on the Morales hit? If it's off the wall he scores...if it;s over the wall he scores..if it's caught he has an easy tag.....

lewdog 05-15-2016 02:18 PM

**** Soria with a spork!

petegz28 05-15-2016 02:19 PM

Monty talking about what I just said....we have our heads in our ass way too much

RealSNR 05-15-2016 02:21 PM
