Nice 8th inning Royals...
I'm not one to go on and on berating the Royals because they suck..but today really took the cake. I can't believe I wasted part of my day watching that game on WGN.
The 8th inning was one of the worst pitched innings of baseball I've ever seen in my life. They brought in a rookie, Miguel Ascenio..for his first major league game. He proceeded to throw 16 straight balls to begin his career, not throwing a single strike....walking the first four guys and allowing a run. Then Muser finally pulled the poor guy and brought in Cory Bailey...who went 3-0 on the next hitter before getting one strike...then walking the guy. The first 19 pitches of the inning were balls, and the first five guys walked in a row. The White Sox announcer, Ken Harrelson, has been around the big leagues for 30 years or so and he said he could never remember seeing that happen. The massacre continued on as 10 players batted with only 3 official at-bats...and the Royals allowed 5 runs on 1 hit, 5 walks, 1 HBP, 39 pitches thrown, 26 balls, 13 strikes. Paaaaathetic. *destroys all Royals related belongings* http://ks.gamerzparadize.com/smileys.../chainsaw2.gif |
The whole frikkin game was that bad.
The sad thing is, I think today was the Royals' one and only chance to reach the .500 mark during the '01 season (how sad is that...). They're 1-3 now, and heading off on a road trip to Boston, Cleveland and Minnesota... :shake: :grr: |
Way to outsmart 'em, Tony. Hey, what's that sound?
It's Mr. K spinning in his grave. :banghead: |
like I've always said, Baseball = ZZZ
|
Muser's new strategy is working!
"We couldn't believe it was happening," Buehrle said. "We were actually feeling sorry for the guy even though he was walking our guys and we were scoring runs. You never want to see a guy do that bad."
That's it Tony. Lull them all into feeling sorry for the pitching staff. |
A lot of people think Carl Peterson is incompetent. If you want to see true incompetence, look at Herk Robinson and Allard Baird ...
These guys should be run out of town. |
When a baseball team loses by two touchdowns, they've got problems...
|
I could only stand 6 innings of the Hawk today & then I took a nap.
|
Why do the Royals focking suck??? That's why!!!

Didn't even know they were playing. Happened upon the game while channel surfing in the 6th. After seeing the score, I was glad i didn't. Then came the 8th. I have been saying that Luser should have been fired last season. Who is responsible for evaluating the players. Ascencio should not have been on the roster.

I used to be so proud of the Royals. The downward spiral since Mr. K died just makes me sick. How low can we go?
|
On the bright side, I get to go see Barry Bonds at Pac Bell Park tomorrow...
|
Way to go Tony, ruin the young guys confidence by letting him walk 4 guys, i woulve taken him out at 2.
|
every year i try with all of my patience to get into the royals, but every year it the same frustrating crap....you would think 21 ball's consecutive would be a record, but not with the boys in blue. it's truly painful to have to suffer thru it. It could solve a lot by getting rid of muser. the guy seems like he's at a funeral everytime he speaks. i gotta see another 18 games this year so we can hope they give tony his walking papers.
|
Luser has no idea what it takes to make a team feel good about themselves, he puts three backups into the starting lineup, he starts a pitcher that sucked last year and this year in ST, and he has no concept of how the game is supposed to be played, except for bitching about how it s a uneven playing field. Start you're STARTERS, DIPSHIT.:grr: :spank:
|
what erks me the most about mueser is his love for mccarty. you would think mccarty just signed a 55 mil $ deal. he says it's for defense, and personally i think sweeney is worlds better defensively. i think tony likes donothing players.
|
Ascencio is supposedly a bright pitching prospect w/ a big up side according to the Royals. We got as a rule 5 player from the Mets which means he must stay the major league roster or he goes back to the Mets for $25,000. However, if he is w/ the Royals next year they can send to the minors.

Well, what a difference a day makes.
As we head into the 8th inning today, Royals 9, White Sox 1 BTW, how ridiculous was Schilling today? Complete game 1 hitter, 17 K's. Wow  |
How about that Schilling!!! Got him on one of my fantasy teams!! Works for me!!!
|
Yeah it just so happened that Schilling is on every one of my fantasy teams..I guess he was just the best available player at the time. I'm sure not complaining. :D
|
right on.
|
Ummmm; they suck. 'Nough said.
|
Oldest thread I could find
bored, things were slowing down. |
And the Royals haven't got any better since then..
|
now that's funny
