Check your Ticketmaster Account

If you've purchased any tickets on Ticketmaster.com from 1999-2013, you probably have free ticket vouchers.

I have 12 free ticket vouchers and about 30 other discounts.

This is due to the Class Action Lawsuit they lost.

eDave 06-18-2016 06:21 PM

Is that up now? I have a reminder to check on Monday. Sweet.

EDIT: I'm getting a ton of free, eligible, shows and a bunch of $2.25 discount codes.

The Bad Guy 06-18-2016 06:50 PM

I got 18 free eligible shows and about 20 2.25 discount codes.

Wish I had the time to post more, but I do read about 3-4 times a week. Hopefully I can post more during football season.

3 free and 3 $2.25 off. Thanks for the heads up.

Mama Hip Rockets 06-19-2016 04:51 PM

This is weird and awesome. Thanks, Buck.

Dartgod 06-19-2016 05:00 PM

I wonder why I do not have any. I know I bought tickets through them in that time period.

MTG#10 06-19-2016 05:03 PM

Damn me for always using stub hub. I thought I had used TM in the past but it's not recognizing my email addresses.

Shit, never mind. I had more than more account. I logged on to the other one and found 12 free vouchers and a shitload of $2.25 discounts.

eDave 06-19-2016 05:10 PM

Here's the email I received May 6 regarding this. Spoilered due to length

Spoiler!

DaFace 06-19-2016 05:22 PM

Dayum. 17 $2.25 codes and 9 free show vouchers. I also have a bunch of other lines that show as if there's a free code there, but the place where the code number should be is blank. Anyone else seeing that?

And any word when shows will start showing up we can use the freebies on?

lewdog 06-19-2016 05:31 PM

I have 2 free tickets sitting there.

How do I know what shows are eligible to use these free tickets on?

Those are TBD. Or tickets you want to buy will be marked 'voucher eligible" or some shit. Hope MMJ is eligible.

If I'm an act, I'm using this in my gig marketing.

That's what I was wondering. I just tried to buy tickets to Leon Bridges in KC on September 27 and it said the voucher code was not eligible. :cuss:

They better get their shit together. The wife and I have outings to plan!

DRU 06-20-2016 03:36 AM

11 free and 11 discounts. Interesting.

The game is going to be played around this "eligible events" thing. They're all going to be garbage events.

When looking at the voucher page it has a note...

Quote:

Use this code to receive two free General Admission tickets for eligible events.

Note that these codes can be used only against eligible events, which are still being finalized.

Please keep checking the dedicated website at: http://concerts.livenation.com/microsite/settlement
When you click to that site it provides info about how they'll have a list of the eligible events, but as it says, it's still being finalized. I don't see any list displayed as of yet.

I'm right with you at 17 vouchers for two free tickets and at least that many discount vouchers. :)

Still have no idea on which shows they can be used.

eDave 06-20-2016 06:55 AM

Ticketmaster said customers will each get "at least one" ticket code in their accounts, which can be redeemed for two general admission tickets to "selected" events at venues owned and operated by Ticketmaster parent company Live Nation Entertainment.

According to an FAQ, Live Nation has "sole discretion" in choosing which events the vouchers can be redeemed for, and they'll be handed out on a first-come-first-served basis.

As of Sunday afternoon, Live Nation (LYV) had not identified any eligible events. The company has set up a web page where it says a list will be posted once it is "finalized."

Ticketmaster said on Twitter Sunday that it could not say when the list will be available, "but we expect it to be soon."

Miles 06-20-2016 07:40 AM

Don't have much expectation these "selected" events will be worth a shit.

BossChief 06-20-2016 07:49 AM

When I hit the active vouchers tab, it just says they are having difficulties and to check back later. Anyone else getting this message?

I got that. I kept refreshing and it showed that I have 12 vouchers for free pairs of tickets and 12 $2.20 discount vouchers. However, none of them had codes. That part was blank.

KCUnited 06-20-2016 12:05 PM

Likely going to be Great White 4th of July, Wilson Phillips reunion type shows that will be able for vouchers.

mikeyis4dcats. 06-20-2016 12:22 PM

I didn't count them but probably close to 2 dozen discounts and free ticket codes. Hopefully there will be at least something worth seeing.

I've been trying all day. Won't load mine. Guess the website is experiencing high traffic. Hah

DaKCMan AP 06-20-2016 08:33 PM

4 discounts but I don't see any free vouchers. Doesn't seem right.

DJJasonp 06-20-2016 08:53 PM

10 $2.25 discounts, but no free tix.....weird

Dartgod 06-20-2016 09:12 PM

Something is up. Yesterday I had 12 free vouchers and 12 $2.25 discount codes. Today the free vouchers are gone. Only the discount codes remain.

Just checked mine.

Free tickets gone too.

****ers.

DRU 06-20-2016 10:00 PM

Yup, same here. Nothing but the $2.25 discounts now. All my free tix vouchers are gone.

I was also having the deal where it simply wouldn't load at all for awhile. I'm guessing they're still running a bunch of reports and updating the system accordingly. I'm hoping we'll see our free tix back here before long.

eDave 06-20-2016 10:05 PM

Mine are gone too. As are lots of others:

http://www.cnet.com/news/some-ticket...vanishing-act/

http://mashable.com/2016/06/20/ticke.../#BAk_ouPJSSqA

I think it has to do with the site getting hammered after this announcement

DRU 06-21-2016 02:27 AM

Mine are back again, and the site does show the eligible events now.

ChiefRocka 06-21-2016 04:52 AM

So there is an event list now on the voucher page sortable by venue. Some decent shows BUT the codes still aren't taking for GA.

Some of the gigs listed:

Rob Zombie & Korn
Steely Dan
ZZ Top
Heart
Goo Goo Dolls
Def Leppard
Keith Urban

There are pages and pages of shows that don't appear to be in any order. Now mine says:

"At present we’re experiencing overwhelming load to our systems.

Please sign up to receive periodic notifications by email. Thanks for your patience, we’ll be in touch as soon as possible."

Strongside 06-21-2016 10:01 AM

I can't see anything under my account, and I've ordered tons of shit through TM in that time span.

???

DRU 06-21-2016 10:27 AM

The event list actually doesn't look bad, but there's a lot of interesting verbiage surrounding all of the terms.

I can't get to it now because the system is "overwhelmed" but when I was looking at my codes earlier there was a message about how they expect a large number of people to redeem these codes and there are only so many to give out so they will go fast.

Then, when you look at the FAQ about the terms for using these codes, this bullet point stands out:

- Tickets may be claimed on a first come, first served basis. Once the “free tickets” made available for a specific event have been claimed, you will not be able to use your Ticket Codes to acquire tickets for that event.

So it sounds like they really aren't giving any more away than they always do. For all events there is a said number of "free tickets" they give away to various companies, organizations, etc. It sounds like they're simply making those available to the people in this settlement via codes, but once they're gone, they're gone.

About 3 am I was able to browse the events and actually try to buy tickets and redeem codes. I tried about 5 of them and none of them worked.

Seems like they're handing out codes but aren't necessarily guaranteeing you'll ever be able to redeem it.

Also, it will be interesting to see if schools, grocery stores, non-profits, radio stations, etc. start to get screwed on tickets for a while because of this.

Mama Hip Rockets 06-21-2016 11:19 AM

Is this the entire list of eligible shows? They are just scattered throughout a few cities in America and it's just a handful of bands?

The vouchers don't expire until 2020, so my hope is we'll be seeing a lot more...

mikeyis4dcats. 06-21-2016 12:16 PM

ha, so the idea is to reduce redemption rates by making it hard to find something to attend.

OnTheWarpath15 06-21-2016 12:32 PM

13 free vouchers and 13 discount codes.

But when I go to use the voucher code, the "apply" button is dead and won't let me click it.

eDave 06-21-2016 12:48 PM

I think we are watching a botched roll out. Ideally the concerts should reference your account location and show those shows in your area.

Then a complete list by area code.

Show list is back up for me. Listed in order of gig date through September. Looks like I lost 3 vouchers from last time I was able to load it. My shows are:

- G-Eazy & Logic: The Endless Summer Tour
- Brantley Gilbert: Take It Outside Tour 2016
- Def Leppard
- Black Sabbath
- Darius Rucker
- Rascal Flats
- Rob Zombie and Korn
- Weezer and Panic At The Disco
- Slipnot
- MERRY JANE Presents Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa: The High Road Tour
- Heart with Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and Cheap Trick
- Prophets of Rage - Make America Rage Again Tour
- Counting Crows & Rob Thomas
- Daryl Hall & John Oates
- Blink 182
- Mumford & Sons

All at the same arena. I'll take advantage of some of them.

It looks like everyone is getting the same thing basically if that tour is coming through your city. Touring artists under contract with Live Nation and in Live Nation venues. In AZ, it is a large outdoor venue.

It's also worth noting up to two discount codes of $2.25 each, can be used per transaction.

KCUnited 06-21-2016 01:42 PM

Maybe Black Sabbath...maybe. Maybe Prophets of Rage for the lulz.

Lzen 06-21-2016 02:30 PM

No shows in KC area on the list. Hopefully, they're getting this figured out and we will see some in the next day or two.

Worthless vouchers. They don't work for any shows in my area. And every touring band stops in my area.

Lzen 06-23-2016 08:48 AM

Now they say the first round of available shows for vouchers is now closed. Look for more in the future. What a bunch of BS.

Dartgod 06-23-2016 08:55 AM

I'd rather they would have sent me a check for $20 and be done with it. That's the only way I would have realized any value from this.

Hydrae 06-23-2016 10:45 AM

Don't forget, these things are good until 2020. That gives enough time to hopefully have something decent in your general area. So far the closest venue I have seen to Austin is Dallas. :cuss:

Yup. This isn't costing Ticketmaster much. Just filling shows that wouldn't sell out anyway. They are just not going to MAKE $45m on these tickets.

Most will go unused.
