Chiefs release KeiVarae Russell
Rand Gettlin-I'm told the #Chiefs have released defensive back KeiVarae Russell. Special teams numbers game. Super talented player. Likely to be claimed.
WOW |
|
Wow. I thought he would be a player.
|
LMAO
Well, that was the worst third round pick ever. |
Well, credit Dorsey for being willing to cut bait I guess. Sucks to completely whiff on a 3rd round pick, though.
|
Holy shit. 3rd round pick.
|
El busto
|
I called it
|
Wonder what skill set they drafted him for and why he failed so quickly. :hmmm:
That's pretty stunning..... |
Wonder who for? Must have something on the table to be clearing cap and roster space all of a sudden.
|
Props to Dane. He called this weeks ago.
DJ White beat Russell out. |
Trade for another CB?

I don't want to live in this world anymore.

DJ white and Eric Murray must have more potential
|
Man. Balls of steel on Dorsey.
DGAF what anyone thinks about his "perception." He is the anti-Pioli. |

I wonder if we are looking to trade for a good CB? Who would be on the block?

Hey Pest ROFL
|
Cap space and cutting a 3rd? Is there a trade brewing? Maybe.

Pioli would have waited till his contract year, so he could have leverage. |

CB salaries http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/cap-hit/cornerback/ Maybe the Browns would part with Tramon Williams? Vontae Davis has a huge cap number next year. Maybe the Colts will unload him? Jason McCourty? Lardarius Webb? |
I'm telling you....this is going to come back to bite us in the ass.
|
Interesting.
As has been stated White and Murray looking good definitely negates the sting. |
There has to be more to this. It doesn't make sense to cut bait on a player like this so quickly.

Cut a 3rd round pick added 6 mil in cap space. Who are we trading for fellas?
|
Well shit.
|
Just a bad pick.
Every single team has them we just notice our's more. |

And yes he's old but we're in win-now mode. And Dorsey is familiar with him from GB days. |

I'm hoping so! |
Hope he makes it to the PS.

SO much better than Pioli sitting on a turd because his ego won't let him admit he made a bad pick.
|
It's been touched on, but kudos to Dorsey for having the team ahead of his ego. It's not good at all on his part to draft a guy in the 3rd round and have to cut him already(assuming we aren't missing an important story here). Still, as a fan, all I ask is that the front office doesn't let their ego get in the way. Especially after Carl and Pioli.

Whoever vouched for him or the scout who was high on him should be fired. We wasted a 3rd round pick. Terrible and typical Chiefs move.

A mental flaw, character issue? What would make them give up so fast on him? |
If we trade for someone, I see a pass rusher.
Peters, Gaines, Nelson, White, Acker. We're 5 deep there with Parker able to play some CB if needed. |
Resigned Moses... so maybe no fire just smoke.

That's my thought. Who's available? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
This kind of hurts...not gonna lie:
74th pick: Chiefs-KeiVarae Russell CB Notre Dame 75th pick: Raidera-Shilique Calhoun DE Michigan State |
He must be an asshole or something for Dorsey to give up on him that quick. Especially with DAT and Davis still on the team doing pretty much nothing.
|
Well, this is beyond weird.
You just spent a Top 75 pick on the kid, and it's taken all of a month of practices to determine you ****ed up? There has to be something else here. Otherwise they totally botched the scouting process, or are being incredibly impatient. |
We have $11m in space, that's more than enough to grab a star in this league considering we can restructure and designate a portion of contract to signing bonus if need be. NFL cap and contracts are pretty flexible.
Who's out there at OLB or CB that would make an impact and also might be available? |
Yeah, had to be more to the story here

Yeah, because the Chiefs cut 3rd round picks in their rookie seasons, typically. Dumbass. |
Wow how hard do you have to suck to get the boot as a 3rd round pick this early in the game, wow.
|
Got to be a few more posts like this.

Every team has busts. It's the over all drafting which has been good. This is a carl/pioli reaction not a logical reaction to dorsey regime. |
So the Chiefs decided that a guy they traded a 2032 13th round pick for has more upside than the guy they just used the 74th pick on just a few months ago.
Interesting draft, as we've already cut 2 of our first 6 picks. |

Cue the posters claiming that I hate Dorsey. |

It just takes most more time to admit the wasted pick and move on. |
We just re-signed Dezman Moses.

I just noticed the comment about this being a "special teams numbers game."
Yeah, I'm calling bullshit there - considering we have three players whose primary role is the same. Hill, Davis, Thomas. Jesus, if there was EVER a guy to have given up on, it would be Thomas. |
Quote:
Oh and great use of that third Dorse! Dude had to have some major issues beyond being a slow learner/bad fit. |
