Overland Park, KS: Stranger chokes 4-month-old baby in Walmart checkout lane
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Police in Kansas are investigating after a woman says a man walked up to her and her baby while they were in the checkout lane of an Overland Park Walmart and started choking the four-month-old.
A shopper saw the incident and tackled the man, restraining him until officers arrived, police say. Police say the suspect was taken into custody, and the baby is okay. http://wgntv.com/2016/10/19/stranger...ne-police-say/ The baby's mother, Quisha Hill, told WDAF that she always shops at this particular Walmart, and on Wednesday she had stopped in for a few items. Hill says her four-month-old, Alyssa, was in her car seat when a stranger walked up to her and said, "I'm going to take your baby, you're going to have to call 911." Hill says the man then began choking her child, and she began screaming for help. Nearby shoppers jumped in to help and wrestled the man to the ground. According to Hill the baby turned red for a few moments but is expected to be fine. Hill adds the man appeared to be under the influence and at one point took the baby's car seat and put it over his head and tried to wear it like a hat. |
Someone appeared to be trying to kidnap a child out of a shopping cart in Houston the other day:

I've had looks from customers watching my boys act out in the checkout line, and wondered if they were going to choke em. |

So the woman just stood there while a stranger walked up and started chocking her baby? My wife is all of 5'2", 110 lbs and would have gone absolutely apeshit on someone doing that, no matter how big they were.

Reason #7648 why that place should be avoided at all costs

Sounds like dude was on his lunch break, in line with 2 items, exact change in hand and ol girl in front was debating the cost of a Dr. Thunder case with a wad of coupons and checkbook in hand.
We've all been there. |

Who amongst hasn't had a sword fight with their children?
|
The only thing surprising about this story is that it didn't happen in Florida.

Weird, because at this point the story would have gone very differently if it were me with one of my kids at four months old in a store. It would have been more along the lines of 'man severely beaten for attempting to kidnap child, still in coma according to police.' |
I go to that WalMart all the time. It's shady as ****.

So it turns out he was a former pastor...
Former pastor accused of choking stranger's baby at Kansas Walmart A former New Jersey pastor is accused of trying to choke a 4-month-old baby he didn't know at a Kansas City-area Walmart. The Kansas City Star reports that prosecutors in Kansas' Johnson County charged 54-year-old Oleh Zhownirovych of Clinton, New Jersey, with felony aggravated battery and misdemeanor battery. It was not immediately clear if Zhownirovych has an attorney. Overland Park police say a man walked up to a woman who was in a checkout lane early Wednesday and began choking her baby. The woman screamed, and the man stopped. Police say people in the store helped the woman and held the man until officers arrived. The baby was not injured. Investigators say the man possibly was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. |

The only thing I got from that article was that somebody liked quiche so much that they named their daughter after it.
