Charles to IR
|
Damn that sucks.
|
Career with KC over unless he accepts a restructure. Sucks.
|
Oooookay. Thanks for trying, JC. (seriously)..
|
**** me....
|
**** me with a grain scoop
|
Not sure how surprised I am at this
|
No :(
|
Not surprised. Over 30 two ACLS...
Bye bye and thanks JC |
As expected
|
Boo
|
This makes me sad.
|
Super unpopular but I wouldn't of resigned him to his last contract. No way no how. RBS are the easiest go replace in the draft.

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 2m2 minutes ago
The #KCChiefs have placed RB Jamaal Charles on Injured Reserve, source said. Out at least 8 weeks. Wait does this mean he could come back? |
Great day of news so far.
|
Sad. He seems nice.
|
I'll await Laz's thread later tonight or tomorrow morning to comment.

For his production, his contract was a steal. |

And another Chiefs great sails to Valhalla without a playoff win to his name.
So it goes. |
And there it is....
Sadly, I've kind of gotten used to not having him. |

This is really upsetting. Not so much about how it hurts our backfield as much as just wanting him to be part of this. He is fun to watch and a great guy. Hate to see it end this way.

Next man up. Or in this case, keep rolling, since he never really played.
Ware and West, and now Sankey, will be just fine. Ware is easily a top 10 all around back, maybe even 5. |
Glad he at least got one final touchdown in the black hole if this is indeed it for him. Thanks for the memories JC.

I loved JC but the offense focused more without him because they had to spread the ball around and not lean on him so much. This is Andy Reid fault really for forcing JC to be the offense 80% of the time when he was healthy. |
And yes, Charles could come back for the playoffs, but will they? Idk, seems unlikely.
Amazing career. |
Time to get a new road jersey. NFL shop, here I come.

It's like Detroit now without Megatron. Guys like that mentally trick you into thinking you should get the ball to them at any time when you are unsure, and it limits your offense. |

Never mind Houston was on PUP.

The Chiefs can bring back any player that they put on IR this season but that's limited to one player only. Teams no longer have to designate which player returns in advance. |
Charles is having a 2nd surgery on his knee, according to Rapoport. Not sure what on.
He's done, folks. |

Regardless of whether or not he's ready to begin practicing in 8 weeks, it's probably much too late in the season for him to get into football shape and have any impact.
Plus, the Chiefs might be faced with having to cut a productive player in order to squeeze a questionable Charles onto the roster. |

If you're a rebuilding a team then why half ass it by locking down cap money to a position that has a propensity to get injured relative to others? |

Maybe there's a glimmer of hope he can return next year on a cheap deal. |
He's done for the year.
If he ever suits up for the Chiefs again, it'll be on a Vet Min incentive laden deal. That's probably out of the question for 2017, depending on the severity of the operation. |

I've been wondering this for days. He has knee swelling like Tamba.
I'm confident that he's getting both knees scoped and cleaned out like Tamba did in February. |
So we signed Sankey to replace Jamaal...
Houston to replace Ehinger? |

On the bright side of today's news, I re-watched our offense when Fulton came in and he did really well. I know, it's the Colts DL, but he picked up a couple stunts and got a surge in the run game generally.

We just won a playoff game last season. It's not the teams fault he was hurt |

Love me some Jamaal Charles and hope like the dickens that he'll be back with us next year. Guy is a total warrior, and assuming they can get his knees right, I still think he's got plenty left in the tank. Never seen an NFL back with a smoother, non-wasteful stride. Absolutely perfect form.
Generally, I'm not one to get all crazy about keeping older vets, but for some reason or other, JC is a different breed in my mind. I want the guy back next year. Period. |
One of the deepest drafts in awhile at RB this spring. We should take one
|

****ing cut him and move on JFC |
a 2nd surgery? That sounds more like the end of his football career entirely let alone with the Chiefs.
Will go down as one of the greatest players ever to play on some of the crappiest teams ever. |
Quote:
And I wouldn't be surprised a bit if Sankey turns it up in KC. Ware was out of the league in 2014 and West in an UDFA. If they can turn those two into good players, what can they do with a 2nd rounder?:hmmm: |

Anyone with a pulse > Trent Richardson |
We've seen the last of Jamaal Charles, its a sad ****ing day... :sulk:

This coaching staff seems to like keeping borderline guys around because of familiarity. Imo borderline guys should be prospects not 'blankies' for comfort. |
Bet he pushed too hard and needs a meniscus clean up... being out the rest of the year is good for getting him back next year... even though he will be 30 next year he has less miles on him because of the injuries.... I hope he comes back to contribute next year if not retire with a alltime best 5.5 yd per carry...
|
If OverTheCap is right with their numbers, by the time we roll over this year's cap room and void Foles and Charles contracts, we would have around 27 million in cap room next year....
Poe and Berry are both likely able to be kept, if they want. |
The saddest part about JC is that we FINALLY had an above average OL for him. It sucks that we couldn't see him behind good blockers

All we can do... Sad, sad day. |

Because of his skinny build, he was always an injury waiting to happen. |

Your poseur act is as tired as Alex Smith's future CTE trauma. To the real KC Fans: I'm sorry to hear about JC. I loved watching that guy run. |

Holding onto players past their prime for sentimental reasons is bad business. The ONLY 3 positions you invest heavily in are elite pass rushers, left takle and the obvious QB. Dane cleared it up that it wasn't a bad deal but it is cap space that is currently allocated when we have other positions needing help. That was all... |

Spencer Ware 5.2 isn't so bad.
