I've never seen a team so averse to throwing at a big pass catching TE in the red zone

jjchieffan 12-25-2016 11:47 PM

He is so exciting to watch. I just wish that JC was healthy. It would have been so exciting to see Hill, Charles, and Kelce on the field together.

ThaVirus 12-25-2016 11:49 PM

He's awesome.

You really can't go wrong with Olsen, Reed or Kelce after Gronk but I'd take Kelce. Olsen is old and Reed is too much finesse.

The "after Gronk" label should be retired. Kelce is a better TE at this point.

With Gronk on IR? Yeah, I'd say you're on to something.

Kelcee had a surgery at the beginning of his career that could have ended it.

Instead he blew up and face-****ed the NFL.

He and Smith should be roomies every training camp from here on out...

Gronk is damaged goods at rhis point

Reerun_KC 12-26-2016 09:18 AM

Calling out Reid was brilliant.

Props to him!

TambaBerry 12-26-2016 09:23 AM

If he is one on one with anyone you throw the ball to him because he has that sick shake that frees him. Then his YAC ability is just unreal for a tight end

He's been injury prone his entire career. Guy is legit made of glass, but it doesn't diminish his talent.

Maybe he's just had the luxury of playing with Brady for his entire career but until Brady hangs them up you can't argue against his production.

I think the same thing is going to happen to Kelce. everyone tackles both of them at their knees or lower, after a lot of hits down there anyone's body would be ****ed

Reerun_KC 12-26-2016 10:08 AM

Kelce could be the one guy that could force Reid to change. Thanks kelce.

I was surprised that 160 yards set our record for TE yardage, figured Gonzalez would've had more than that at some point in his career

Nonetheless it was a brilliant performance, caught everything in sight and turned a screen into an 80 yard touchdown

Congrats, Travis... we're damn glad to have ya

He was also the block that busted Hill as has been noted. He was money on third-down as well.

Not sure he can come up with another 160 yards to take the all-time single-season yardage number from Gonzalez, but possible.

I was definitely remiss to not mention his blocking, dude just mashed suckers all night long

SAUTO 12-26-2016 12:15 PM

He's had to have averaged over a hundred yards a game over his last six games. Wonder how many times that has happened.

Gonzalez had a 173 yard day once. It was against wither Oakland or Green Bay, I can't remember which.

And didn't Tony have 1200+ yards one season with us? Now I'm gonna have to go look......

He had two. He got 1203 yards in 2000 and 1258 yards in 2004. Pretty ****ing amazing for a tight end.

Looking further, he fumbled only 6 times in his whole career, and only lost one of them. Amazing.

I kinda thought Tony would've had at least one 200 yard game, but oh well... dont wanna sound like I'm complaining about Kelce' huge night

He needs 142 to eclipse Gonzo.

I think Kelce had more than 6 fumbles last season - though to his credit he has turned that around this season.

Now if we could only get Maclin working again...

For sure. If anything, it gives you a look at what you're comparing yourself to when you start to reach Tony Gonzalez levels of production.

That alone is worth immediate 'Ring Of Honor' consideration.

Kelce > Gonzalez in blocking and knocking guys on their ass.
