The Chiefs put themselves in this position with the losses to TB and TEN. No reason to think Denver will do us any favors.

Pretty much.

Andy "icing" Succop has us where we are now (among other dipshittery-istic moves, yes. But that one instance could have saved us counting on a pissed off Bronco team to try and help us in any way). Pretty crazy how things shake out.

Yep. Plus, Denver is flat out terrible and on a downward spiral having lost 7 of their last 11. They played like they already packed it in yestetday with evetything riding on the outcome. The Raiders will beat them without Carr. Id be very surprised if Denver even shows up.

stevieray 12-26-2016 04:06 PM

no way they won't play to win.

CaliforniaChief 12-26-2016 04:09 PM

I disagree.

I think that "moving on to next year" means looking at some younger players, not mailing it in. And in some cases, those younger players perform better. You don't think those guys want to show something for Elway and Kubiak to think about?

They hate the Raiders just as much as they hate the Chiefs. Do I think that means they'll win? Not necessarily. And yes, this is completely on us for crapping ourselves in a couple of key games. But I expect that they'll show up and give an honest effort.

Chief Roundup 12-26-2016 04:12 PM

It all depends, do the Donkos want to help the Faid or us. I don't think they "want" to help either team. I think they will be playing the game for reasons that are solely based on what is best for the donkos. I think Elway and Kubiak would like to finish above .500 on the season. It would also do their team some good to be able to finish with a win and whip up on another team in the division.

Sweet Daddy Hate 12-26-2016 04:14 PM

Treatin' it as a pre season showcase!

Lil' Donkey's Revenge, served ice-cold.

wazu 12-26-2016 04:14 PM

This is the difference between a winning season and a .500 season. I'd think they'd be trying to win. Why is Paxton Lynch considered sure-fire "next year"? Simien was apparently considered the better choice to actually win as recently as yesterday. He came into the season with the same amount of starting experience.

Why Not? 12-26-2016 04:21 PM

Not sure when people are going to remember that NFL contracts are not guaranteed. There will be Broncos on both sides of the ball playing for jobs. They're gonna lay down and possibly piss that away because Andy Reid had a lineman throw a TD pass? The Broncos may lose the game because the Faid are a better team this year but it won't be because they dog it to **** over the Chiefs.

I could easily see it playing out like this.

prhom 12-26-2016 04:33 PM

They may want to mail it in to stick it to the Chiefs, but I have a feeling they will like what the Raiders would do to them in their own house even less. The Raiders and Del rio would absolutely run the score up on them if they aren't trying. If fans didn't like the Poe TD they are going to be really insulted with the Raiders backup QB having a romp in Mile High.

BlackHelicopters 12-26-2016 04:33 PM

Precisely, Elway's ego is too fragile especially at the QB position and Paxton had better work out because his o-line draft picks sure aren't.:D

In all fairness though Elway has had some very good picks especially his 2012 draft apart from Osweiller.

Kubiak pretty much summed it up. They were 7-3 with an 8-point lead at home and 3:00 left. They win that one and it's next to impossible that they don't make the post-season.

Fortunately, we ripped their hearts out and that led to complete quitfest we saw last night.

Hopefully, they have some pride and don't want to go into the post-season losing to the Raiders at home. But if they play Lynch I can't see a Denver win - dude is worse than Simien.

Assuming we beat SD which will not be easy. Because psychologically it will be a real challenge not to want to look past SD. Reid must drill into their heads not to be any less intense with SD because we must beat them to have at least a chance to have the 2nd seed and then beat whoever's ass in Arrowhead in front of all their beloved fans in the playoffs !!

You would think being defending SB champs but then sub-consciously you are dealing with multi-millionaires who already have a ring knowing they are not going to the playoffs in a d-line facing the biggest strongest running offensive line in the NFL will not be motivatingly fun for them and the fact that Denver has no run game to offset favors McGloin more than Lynch IMHO. I'd almost venture to guess there's never been one coach that's ever told his team to lay down and lose.. For one players make that decision, not coaches.. Kubiak can control stuff like punting with inches to go and shit like that but naw... players have way to much pride to try and lose...

Plus Raiders are a division rival. There's going to be trash talking during the game and the Broncos are going to more than likely get pumped up and want to win.

Raiders will have to earn the W just like we did.

Opoponax 12-27-2016 10:40 AM

Denver will come out trying to win. They're pros and they have pride. And for a while it'll be close. But as the game wears on and as the Raiders offense begins to pile up yards on the ground, the Donks will become dispirited and look like they did Sunday night.

Any Raider lead of 9 points or greater in the second half is going to look more like 21 points to the Denver offense.

McGloin sure as hell ain't Carr, but the play action will be there all night for him and he'll be able to do enough to keep the run game going.

As for the Chargers, that's an easy Chiefs win. Even if that team really wanted to win and gave it 100%, they're functioning at about 60% capacity in terms of starting players. Like, say Illinois State was super fired up and the most inspired they've ever been and was playing against Alabama; it wouldn't make jackshit difference. They'd still get walked over like an old piece of juicy fruit on a sidewalk.

The Raiders and Chiefs will both win this Sunday.

ChiefGator 12-27-2016 10:42 AM

I somehow think the Illinois State - Alabama comparison isn't quite valid for Raiders - Broncos.

lcarus 12-27-2016 10:45 AM

Denver will still play the game hard. The players and coaches all still have careers. Where the Chiefs or Raiders are seeded in the playoffs probably means **** all to them
