Steel Men Are Coming

Business is ****ing booming, Steelers up 20-3 only 17 minutes into the game.

Ya'll wanted Pittsburgh. 219 yards of offense in the 1st quarter.

We'll be fine?

We'll find out next Sunday.

BossChief 01-08-2017 12:54 PM

I'm re-thinking going to the game, but it sure would be great if KC beats Pittsburgh.

We're gonna have to play the game of the year to win.

Ha! There are many complaints that can be made as a Chiefs fan, but to claim the defense is mediocre is laughable, at best.

7th in points allowed with 19.4 pts/game allowed.

STFU

Pittsburgh's defense may be short Bud Dupree next week, as he may end up in jail on criminal charges after the hit he just put on Matt Moore.

The NFL is in a very, very bad state, so it might be a little above average, but it is by NO means a strong defense. It relies on opponent mistakes and big plays. Big Ben is not the type of QB who's going to let our D make him look bad, as other QBs have done. And we give up alllllllllllll kinds of rushing yards against FAR worse backs than Bell.

So yeah. Good luck with that.

If the Chiefs hold the Steelers to around 24 or under, that's a heck of a job. If Alex Smith can't score that many points at home, we don't deserve a sniff of the AFCCG.

The rushing may be concerning, but when the field shortens, the defense holds their own. They may give up a decent amount of yards between the 20's, but that doesn't matter. Let them chew up the clock and kick field goals. As long as we can match 1 TD for every 2 FGs, we'll be fine.

To be the best, you have to beat the best. Bring them on.

KC_Connection 01-08-2017 01:16 PM

KC has a decent shot to advance. New England in New England is what it is, but as banged up as they are this is as good a time as any for someone to go in there and knock them off while Gronk is out. Not saying it will happen, but come on, was there really another path to the SB that didnt go thru Foxboro?

Talk of some sort of Houston/Oakland,Miami path was chicken shit and not even realistic. Bring on the Steelers.

The Franchise 01-08-2017 01:33 PM

The #1 thing that worries me about Pitt is Bell. Our run defense has been gashed and you're talking about going up against the best all around RB in the NFL.

Hammock Parties 01-08-2017 01:34 PM

The biggest problem I see for the Chiefs is that Pitt's defense is a lot better than it was when we played them earlier in the year. They didn't have Shazier in that game, they've replaced about four other starters, too, they've obviously fixed their run defense.

The Chiefs will need Colts game Alex Smith to win this, and their normal, Philip Gaines-free defensive performance.

If they beat Pitt they can certainly beat the Pats. I honestly think Pitt might be the best team in the AFC. They've won eight in a row if they hold on today.

it seems like forever that in the AFC, you wanted to get to the Super Bowl, you had to beat Pitt and go on the road to NE and beat Brady/Belicheck. This year it seems to be no different.

You want to be the best, you got beat the best. This is the best overall team we have had in years. If somehow, someway beat Pitt and then NE in NE, we are going to win the Super Bowl this year.

It's been mentioned on a couple of broadcasts this year that teams feel they can "push the Chiefs around" to get them off their game.

Also, I think early in the divisional game last year against the Pats when they intentionally mashed our returner on a punt was evidence of opposing teams thinking this.

Consider me concerned.

Pittsburgh looks like they're going to win 8 in a row. Fact is, Chiefs are potentially facing a hot team right now in the playoffs. That's reality. That's scary and true.

I don't like the Chiefs run defense. I'm worried that Pittsburgh will pound them with the running game. Leveon Bell is the type of back that could take over a game. It wouldn't surprise me if he gets 200 yards against the Chiefs. I don't think the Chiefs have anybody that could cover Antonio Brown. I fear his speed and his ability to catch the ball deep into the opponents territory. I could see big plays happening. Roethlisberger is 5-1 against the Chiefs and so he has their number. I fear he will have a lot of time to throw because of the Chiefs lack of pass rush.

On the other hand, Chiefs are at home and the 12th man will play a factor in Pittsburgh making mistakes. Andy Reid's record is sensational after the bye. So we got that going for us in that he could prepare the team better to put them in a better position to win. Pittsburghs pass defense isnt that good and I think the Chiefs could pass on them. I look for big plays from Kelce and Maclin. Tyreek could take one to the house this game in either returns, passing or running games. Ultimately, I think the difference will be turnovers. Chiefs have that going for them in that the defense could force turnovers and the offense despite its lack of efficiency; could at least protect the ball. If the Chiefs got those two variables in order, I like their chances of winning this game.

*They need the timely turnovers. That's what closes games.

If Chiefs beat both Pittsburgh and Patriots at Foxborough and make it to the Super Bowl it will be similar to 2015 Royals run. Simply an amazing accomplishment. In 2017 Chiefs Fans will have waited 47 years since they were last playing in the SB. Winning it would be awesome for Kansas City especially after Royals triumphant victory in 2015. I'll be 54 years old later this month and I would love a belated birthday gift in February!

Of course if we fall short of this accomplishment then there's always next year.:D

I think many have forgotten that the Chiefs have limited Hali's snaps to keep him fresh for this next game, and hopefully the next two games. I think we'll see a different defense than what trotted out against PIT previously this season.

Dayze 01-08-2017 01:47 PM

Kelce will be good for two unsportsmanlike penalties after Steelers players get in his head, hitting him too hard or just simply messing with him Kelce will have a bonehead move at an i opportune time.

Steelers are cheap shot artists cut from the same mold as Broncos players. Kc will need to keep their heads in the game and not let it get to them. refs will already be prepared to influence a Steeler win, don't need to give them any additional reasons to throw a flag.
