Tamba returning for 1 more year
Per Terez Taylor
Yay? |
No, time to cut ties wth the elders and infuse some more youth into the franchise... |
No way
Did he even play a snap last night? |
Well we knew this was coming with his dead cap for 2017 set at 8.9 mil
Hali is embarrassing himself staying around. He should have never signed that contract and we shouldn't have offered it to him in the first place but thanks to Ford's mediocre play in 2015, we were put in this ****ed up situation. |
Send him to the glue factory. Thanks for being a Chief Tamba but it's over.
|
This helps nothing. Thanks, Tamba. Now, get the hell out.
|
Don't care.
|
Only want him if he gets James Harrison's HGH guy.
|
Big mistake.

So much truth to this. |
They should void his contract, give him a Timex watch and send him on his way.

Why

Hali took one for the team. He took a really, really team-friendly deal and I rarely ever say that (there's always fine print). Hali has been an absolute steal given what he would have gotten in the open market and he's been worth every penny. He still has a great role on this team as a depth OLB. We may be overpaying a bit but not much. |

I agree, this window has closed. Time to move on from Tamba, DJ, and Charles. We need Tamba and DJ to retire so we can get the cap money to resign Berry and Poe. If we cut them we won't get nearly as much. Those guys were great but it's time to move on. |
With Houston converting to corner, we need all the pass rushers we can get.
|

LMAO |
Maybe Buck Buchanan would like to come back too?
|
Was a great Chief for years but way past his prime and that's a lot for a depth guy.
But then we are paying Houston a truck load of cash and he hasn't been a factor for 2 years now. |
Wish we could transfer his heart and brains to our d line, TE, and coaching staff. Physically he is done.
|
He is going to make the Chiefs cut him. Come on Tampa don't go out embaracing yourself. Come back as a couch or something.

First I've laughed since last night. Thank you. |
Time to cut the dead weight and restructure this team..

Say what you want, but all of the players from the past have that failure stench. |

Tamba has been a great Chief, model citizen and has had a great career.
I've enjoyed watching him, but he's done. I don't see it helping the Chiefs at this point for him to stay around. I hope he enjoys his retirement and remains part of the organization in some capacity. |

As a long time fan I appreciate what he has done for our franchise, but he's done. Not sure what we do bout this situation but I'm not sure I want him back.
|
prolly means the old guy window stays open for another season with Alex at the helm and all the vets trying one more time to repeat this scheme.
2018 is prob the year they blow it up and start anew, which I am excited for |
Tamba offers nothing, send him packing.
|
Can you believe that James Harrison is five years older than Hali?
|
Quote:
But yes his knees are shot. We need an upgrade at the position. |

You can some good players for 9 mil.
This is mind-blowing. |
He was a pretty good backup player this year and I would love to have them back next year but he needs to take a pay cut in order for that to work out
|
love the guy, but no way he is worth that coin.

The Chiefs have been overpaying players for a few years now. The piper is coming, and his payment will be due soon. They're in one of the least envious cap positions for 2017, but they can clear some money by releasing Charles and Nick Foles. They only save $1.2 million by releasing DJ. They could save $7 million by releasing Colquitt and Mauga, both of whom are vastly overpaid |
Time to do the following no matter how much the heart feels:
-Cut Charles UNLESS much lower pay -Hali gone -Poe gone -Knile Davis gone -Resign Berry -Kendall Reyes gone -We need to either use Tyler Bray or cut him -Not sure what DJ has left in the tank -Phillip Gaines CUT -Draft a QB -Draft a ILB |
Given Ford's disappearing act vs non-garbage o-lines, I dont see how this is a bad thing. Houston still doesn't seem 100%, so the more rushers the better. Have him start working with Dadi now.

That 52 yard haul to Brown was his fault. Three points given up rather than a punt |

Bring in Jamie Collins and let him get revenge on the Pats
|
Without Berry the Chiefs are a wild card team this year and you don't get to enjoy another home divisional loss.

Dadi ain't gonna work for awhile. He got his shit ruined by injury earlier this year |

His inability to protect the middle of the field on the last drive allowed Tennessee to move downfield and get a game winning FG |

Retire. He contributed next to nothing and we need the cap room

All time Chief great. So sad that he never got a chance to win the big one, because few players played harder or cared more.

I guess if Andy thinks the defensive squad needs a Wooderson.
Say Houston, got a sack? Be a lot cooler if you did. |

What is this about playing 4 more years? This has to be a joke, right?

Hali ****ing sucks now. I mean he's really bad. And he's only going to be worse next season. Every dollar over the league minimum is an overpay because the guy's a glorified position coach at this point. This is the same kind of awful takes we got when Mike Vrabel came back. Hali's absolutely shot. He has nothing left at all. |

If the Chiefs cut these following players Post June 1st, there's a Cap Savings of $25,950,000 dollars, nearly $26 million in savings: $10,750,000 - Foles $1,250,000 - Hali $7,000,000 - Charles $4,100,000 - Colquitt $2,850,000 - Jah Reid The Dead Money for Hali ($7,333,333), Colquitt ($800k) and Reid ($775k) comes to $8.908,333 million. So the Chiefs would gain $17 million in cap space by cutting those players. With the estimated $4 million in available cap space, the Chiefs would have a minimum of $21 million to play with, which could include new deals for Berry and Poe, as well as deals for Foles and possibly Charles (league minimum). Also, Anthony Sherman, IMO, should be the target of a renegotiation/extension. I like Sherman but paying him $2.3 million dollars to have less than 10 offensive snaps a game is a waste of valuable resources. |
