Twitter Ads info and privacy The paper reports that, while Stoops plans to remain with the university, 33-year-old offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley will take over and lead the team this season. "Bob got to do it in his way," a source told The Oklahoman. "Doesn't get any better than that." |
Wow.

Peace out, "Big Game"

What a boom for Florida recruiting.
I mean that pretty much just leaves them and maybe LSU to compete for the absolute human trash that Bob Stoops will allow on his football team. **** you, Stoops. |
There has to be more to this story... i.e. a pending scandal.
A 56 year old HC with Stoops' stature doesn't suddenly retire this late in the offseason. |
I don't follow big 12 football at all; what was his record as a coach? he's been around a long time.
I honestly have no idea. |
A great Iowa Hawkeye.

Big rape/drug/human trafficking scandal to drop in the coming months at OU.

His teams were soft. A tough team like KSU or Sec team could punch them in the face and they would struggle. |

I cant recall which game in particular it was, but it was OU vs someone big; I remember thinking "oooh ,that'll be a good game."....so my wife and I sat down to wactch. I didn't even make it to halftime because of whatever fight song OU plays. Like, literally, they played it probably 50 times by halftime.
I said '**** this' and turned off the game lol. |
It does seem like strange timing. I wonder if that means they will release some of the younger kids from their recruiting commit.

Even if you didn't know to associate it with OU football, the moment you heard that song you'd immediately think of football saturdays. |

Nobody will ever touch Paterno and PSU as the lowest of pond scum, but I think we'll see something big. |
Let the Chip Kelly to Oklahoma rumors begin.

RE: OU. Stoops would absolutely win the offseason. But underachieved. He'd rape the Big 12 then get obliterated in a big game. |

The 2000 Miami team (basically the same roster as the 2001 team that won the NC) would have destroyed Oklahoma. |

Tough break for all the women-beaters out there who wanted to play for a top program.

1 - USC 2 - Ohio State 3 - Texas 4 - Oklahoma 5 - Florida I know I'm supposed to hold Notre Dame and Michigan in high repute, I've just always found theirs a bit stuffy. Not quite bold and brassy enough. If a damn fight song can be full of itself, ND and Michigan have managed it. |
Bittersweet day for my Alma. The 2000 championship run was my first true taste of college football as a student (after two years at Missouri-Rolla before transferring).
Heck of a coach for these last 18 years. Glad he's not stepping away to move on to another team. Let the Lincoln Riley era begin... Boomer! |

The more local rumors are two fold: 1) His health, though he denied this--his father had a heart attack while coaching, and Stoops is known for his blood pressure going up during the games. 2) Family. His wife retired a couple of years back and his sons are seniors in high school with plans on pursuing college football careers. Thought is that he wants to spend more time with family and watch his boys play. Which makes sense, it's not like he's hurting financially or having to work. Other than winning another NC, he's proven just about everything there is to prove in college football head coaching. |

*SEC punched Stoops' mouth the identical 21% of the time (7-26) Of course that number includes perennial doormats Mizzouche and ATM. Without them, Stoops is still 7-4 vs the legacy SEC teams. |
Our beer laws change in late 2018. Finally get cold beer in liquor stores.
People are even fighting to repeal that new law. Don't worry. We have made possession of all hard drugs misdemeanors as well. |

Bob did crush a lot of Mizzou fan's souls; the butt hurt is real.
The fake FG, multiple hard hits on brad smith, and then the dominate win in San Antonio crushing the potential BCS game hopes for their best team of all time. |
