Probably MadBum again. I know, he's not playing, but his lips are permanently attached to MadBum's cornhole.

98 here today as well.

Still running the AC a few times through the day and on at night. 98 in the Southwest doesn't feel as hot as it sounds though. Hot, but I was outside quite a bit late in the afternoon and it was quite nice.

Enjoy the fall weather though. Sounds kind of nice!

lewdog 10-24-2017 07:19 PM

Nice pace to this game too.

This is how baseball should go. Not 5 hour 9 inning games.

It’s been absolutely brutal for the past few weeks and even worse the past couple of days.

I am so over the heat.

I once got a mean look at the K for not standing.... I actually just wasn't paying attention, but even when I've stood, I'm not going to stand at attention with my hand over my heart....... it's not the national anthem, people!

But hey, after the least blessed day in American history....

So true.

After a 98 degree Spring Training game late in March one year, I try to attend mostly in the first few weeks.

Eh, as you know, as long as you're not in the sun, it's not bad.... Dodgers/Royals in Spring Training was about 96, felt at least 10 degrees cooler in the shade though. It was a little toasty walking back to the car.

Not sure what the odds are but my oldest played on the Astros this year and my youngest the Dodgers. Personally would have rather had that statistical anomaly go towards winning the lotto or something but still pretty cool.

mnchiefsguy 10-24-2017 09:33 PM

Really good game. Should be a great series.

Molitoth 10-24-2017 09:55 PM

I should root for the Astros strictly because they took out the Yankees....

Yep... Go Astros.

suzzer99 10-24-2017 10:01 PM

Not only was Kershaw completely sanguine about being pulled from a dominating performance with 83 pitches, the media never even really questioned it from what I heard.

I think Matt Harvey settled that debate forever. Not that Kershaw would have cared cause he's a mellow surfer dude. But I do feel like the whole "should the starter be allowed to complete the game" debate is over for good.

Goin' to game 2 tomorrow. Lifelong Dodgers fan, spur of the moment decision to spend a ridiculous amount of money and scratch in a check mark on my "bucket list". Gonna get in the gate as early as they will allow me and soak in every detail. Go Dodgers!

Kershaw is not a Mellow Surfer dude. He's a Texas kid! lol He is pretty mellow and curses alot when he pitches! lol

Also, the Dodgers bullpen has given up exactly 1 hit against the cubs and 0 so far against the Astro's. our 8 and 9th inning pitchers are pretty ****ing lock down. Baseball is different now days. Roberts will pull a pitcher so he can bring in Morrow or Jansen if its against the middle of a teams lineup. Obviously it has to be fairly far into the game.

Why Not? 10-25-2017 06:23 AM

Totally worth it. We splurged to get to KC for a WS game(also game 2)in 2014 and it's one of the most memorable events I have ever attended. Worth every penny(full disclosure, our game tickets were free via a friend but literally last minute airline tickets from AZ to KC, rental car, hotel room, 2 days all meals, etc)

That’s awesome. Wish I could make the trip down and do the same thing.

Well this is going to be a boring world series. The Astros are way too all or nothing on offense to do anything against the Dodgers pitching.

Boring after 2 games?

I guess you forgot how the Houston offense performs and fits their home ballpark.

Not sure that is going to help them in the long run (pending outcome of game 2). They need to stop shooting themselves in the foot if they are to have a chance at this point. But at least it will get more exciting.

I was saying it is going to be boring not that it is. And I'm just basing it off of the fact that it will be either a sweep or 4-1 victory for the Dodgers. The Astros just don't have enough consistent offense to compete against this quality of pitching. They did not score in more than two separate innings in a single game in the ALCS. Three games they only scored in one inning or fewer.

lewdog 10-25-2017 08:54 PM

Rally time baby!!!

Hamwallet 10-25-2017 08:56 PM

If the Astros lose this game it’s over. Hate to say it.
