The Chiefs matchups as a wild-card team

The Chiefs are currently the three seed.

The other wild-card teams, in order of most difficult matchup for KC.

We definitely want the Titans.

All of them could beat us.

Eleazar 11-06-2017 10:27 AM

I wouldn't want to play Jacksonville right now. The league's #1 defense and a powerful running game

We could focus 100% on the running game and wait for QB turnovers.

Pretty much the exact opposite of how we played the Steelers the last two times...

KCrockaholic 11-06-2017 10:32 AM

I'd take my chances with Buffalo, but I don't even think they'll make it. Tennessee wouldn't be easy at all. Mariota can occasionally go full franchise QB on teams.

The Jags wouldn't be as scary as they appear. All it takes is 1 Blake Bortles shitty day and the game would be over.

The Chiefs match up well with them actually despite what rankings may show.

Yep.

Schnitzel 11-06-2017 10:33 AM

Does it matter? We would go into Heinz Field the game after, so we shouldn't even care about a potential Wild-Card game...

You have to succeed in stopping the running game for that to work. ;)

We did this week.

Instead of giving Bell his yards and going full zone to stop Ben we'd do the opposite.

Play man, load the box, and force a total ass QB to beat us...

Well as long as Sutton didn't go full Sutton during the game, we could stay in our base 3-4 literally the entire game against them. They don't have receivers to worry about. Stack the box.

And defensively their strength is obviously outside the hashes. Kelce would have a huge day.

ILChief 11-06-2017 10:45 AM

Thought about mentioning the Raiders. But they still play New England, Philadelphia, Dallas, and KC

The Jags would carbon copy their gameplan against Pitt.

Blake throws 14 times, Jags win 30-9.

scho63 11-06-2017 10:48 AM

Jacksonville reminds me of some of the Baltimore Ravens teams with Ray Lewis

We did it this week vs. the 2nd best HB in the league...

ptlyon 11-06-2017 11:07 AM

Playoffs? PLAYOFFS?!?

KChiefs1 11-06-2017 11:44 AM

I would include Miami in that group as possible WC teams.

We're just trying to win a game here.

BoneKrusher 11-06-2017 12:37 PM

The Chiefs will not make it as a wild card team based on their play over the last 4 games.
the Denver game shouldn't count as a win, their offense was more pathetic than the Chiefs.

The Franchise 11-06-2017 12:46 PM

We wouldn't play the Jags in the WC round.....because they're winning that division.

Nobody said anything about the Chiefs making it as a wild card team. These are the possible opponents we will face in the wild card game after we make the playoffs as the Western division winner.

Raiders have a better chance

This. I don’t see anyone but Jax coming out of the south. Even then it’s a tough ask to think a Fournette will be healthy by the playoffs.

Best case scenario is we get the flaming Tacks and Marriotta has to sit on a dodgy knee and we line up against Casshole.

Cant wait for another appearance in the Scrub Bowl!

If Chiefs can just win that game before getting beat down by Pittsburgh....SUCCESSFUL SEASON!!!

pugsnotdrugs19 11-06-2017 01:59 PM

Andy will use this post loss bye week to patch up some things, and that combined with the weak remaining schedule tees up a 12-4 finish to the season. The talking heads will be asking the same questions this December that they asked about KC last December.

"They look great. Can they win in January?"

And the answer will be no if it means playing the Patriots or Steelers. On with the future it will be.

Currently:

1. Steelers
2. Pats
3. Chiefs
4. Titans
5. Jags
6. Bills

We'd crush the Bills, IMO. That's a good matchup for us.

The Titans have a rough go of it with LA, JAX and PIT left to play.

We probably need to root FOR the Jags, because we don't want them ending up as the 6 seed. That's the worst matchup for us.

Except we cant, because our D C does not know how to make adjustments, he will still keep the same ****ing rush 2 or 3 and have everyone else zone! lol

Offense can stil lbe good. Im not sure about the Defense. We lack talent, and our D.C isnt very good. Still never forgave him, when he said we will put pressure on luck and blitz him, you cant be scared to blitz a QB. Game comes around he doesnt blitz at all and we lose after being up big! lol

Simply Red 11-13-2017 01:33 AM

GUESS WHO BEAT THE PATS???? THISSSSS TEAM!

Chiefs Pantalones 11-13-2017 01:56 AM

Chiefs are going to be either the 3 or the 4 seed IMO. They kissed the bye away when they lost to the Steelers and Raiders.

New World Order 11-13-2017 03:00 AM

Who cares who we play

We're unstoppable!

This defense would make even Bortles look amazing.

.... and Fournette hammering through the first two levels?

Steelers and Pats play each other later this season. We should root for the Steelers to win since we own a head to head to breaker over New England. If the Pats can find one more loss on their schedule (a lot of division games upcoming) then maybe we can squeak out a bye.

Check back with me next week when we drop a gimmie vs the Giants though. Then all this will be useless conjecture.

If the Chiefs, Steelers and Patriots all finish tied doesn’t head-to-head get canceled out?

RobBlake 11-13-2017 11:05 AM

Chiefs can beat anyone if their oline and dline step up ther games - simple as that. I how they are taking some protein powders and getting their workouts in cause they have been weak.

O.city 11-13-2017 11:46 AM

Looking ahead, to get a bye they're pretty much gonna have to win out and hope the steelers win out as well.

That would put the chiefs in the 2 seed

gold_and_red 11-13-2017 11:52 AM

That Raider game really is going to bite this team. Having said that nothing in the last 4 weeks screams winning playoff football.
