Why?

Like the awesome 90's arcade game? WTF indeed.....

BigRichard 11-17-2017 12:56 PM

I think it will be awesome. I love The Rock in just about everything.

Demonpenz 11-17-2017 03:04 PM

I was always the monkey

KCUnited 11-17-2017 03:07 PM

Yep, gorilla all the way. Probably placebo, but he seemed to do the most damage. I mean a wolf and a dinosaur punching a building? The **** outta here.

Deberg_1990 11-17-2017 04:52 PM

Looks like Universal wants a new franchise similar to Kong or Godzilla

Bowser 11-17-2017 05:35 PM

I want to see the ape punch a hole in the wall of an apartment building so he can grab a dude taking a bath and eat him.

hometeam 11-17-2017 10:32 PM

trash

I always played the wolf. Wasted too many quarters in that game back when.

Buck 11-18-2017 10:13 AM

lol I'll watch this if it comes to netflix.

I always played Lizzie.

Did you ever play the updated N64 version?

Wow, there was even a PS2 version of the game. Looks shitty though...

Easy 6 11-18-2017 06:16 PM

This looks like a big, dumb, derivative mess... the Rock will star in any old piece of crap for enough money, look no further than San Andreas

Passepartout 11-18-2017 06:19 PM

Let me guess Rock is starring in franchises there! Like Fast and Furious and Jumanji!

Let us not forget the titanic disgrace that was Hercules

Rasputin 11-18-2017 06:27 PM

It looks better on the big screen as a trailer before Justice League than I thought it looked on a TV or phone screen so I'm inclined to see it. I'm not a fan of Dwane Johnson movies but this looks like you want to root for the monkey and carnage.

Rasputin 11-19-2017 04:32 AM

I'd say this looks 10× better than Kong. Rampage looks BA. BA for Bad Ass.

RINGLEADER 11-19-2017 04:26 PM

I remember driving to a Springfield arcade to play-test Rampage.

Has to be the stupidest idea for a film ever.

Rasputin 11-19-2017 06:56 PM

I hope they eat people by grabbing them out of windows and eat them.

I want total carnage and mayhem.

CoMoChief 11-21-2017 02:13 PM

Rock didnt learn his lesson with Doom?

Videogame themed movies are all absolute ****in trash.

This looks no different...

ThaVirus 11-21-2017 03:44 PM

What’s the best live-action video game adaptation?

Best film for me would be Silent Hill.

Most fun would be Resident Evil. Even the shitty movies were fun and over the top.

BWillie 11-21-2017 10:30 PM

Why are there so many movies about huge monkeys?

Rausch 11-21-2017 10:55 PM

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is an amazing actor.

I hate to see him in shit like this...

He may be a man that raped 52 women and killed babies (and how would I really know at this point?) but can he act?

Yes.

He's a ****ing boss.

At this point I have to preface my statements with "I don't know if he hates Jews, kills babies in the womb with coat hangers, or demands that all blacks must die" but he's an exceptional actor.

And he is. I'll stand by that: HE'S AN EXCEPTIONAL ACTOR.

The Rock doesnt strike me as someone concerned about their 'art', he is more of an action hero than a real actor... just sign his check, and he'll sign on

Fishpicker 11-22-2017 03:44 PM

loved the game (the '86 arcade version). I want to hate this movie but the trailer looks pretty damn good.

Resident Evil.

Mortal Kombat.

They arent supposed to be The Godfather.. as cheesy action flicks they are just as good as any True Lies, Under Siege, or Demolition Man.

I feel like this might be too kind. This seems like a B movie level idea. Studios must be desperate AF.

Tron was a movie first. Thought we were only looking at game > movie options? Legacy was OK, but the original was a classic and nostalgia alone puts it head and shoulders above the sequel IMO.

I actually liked it a great deal.

I think I remember reading that the movie didn't do particularly great at the box office, and with it costing Disney a mint to make we aren't going to get a sequel anytime soon. Shame.

I loved it but I'm in the minority. Truly enjoyed it and thought it tied together very well with the original. Really hoping they find a way to do a third.

I know.

It wouldn't kill him to do a good movie though.

Only movie of his I've thought was good, was The Rundown. I enjoyed that movie very much.

And I'm probably the biggest Rock fan on this board.

He has quite the list of some real alltime rock bottom movies.

Be Cool
Toothfairy
The Game
Doom
All of the Fast bullshit, although he's the only good character from the movie

But I get it....he's sold himself out the way Arnold and Hogan did back in the day.

Pretty much agree with this regarding his film roles. but Ballers is awesome. Better than any movie he's put out IMO.

Yeah, I like Ballers. Might be his best acting he's done working on that show ever. And the show is great to boot.

Agreed about The Rundown, that was just a really fun romp, Rock and Sean W Scott had great chemistry, really surprised they never followed that up

Disagree about Arnie though, he didn't have nearly as many stinkers

Agreed. Funny as hell, but everybody on the show seems to have been cast perfectly. Guttenberg is surprisingly perfect in his role. The cameos are excellent too. Suggs is hilarious.

Yeah. Retired, now a financial manager for NFL stars. Kind of has a bit of an Arli$$ feel in the relationships between him and the players as well as the wheeling/dealing, but much better IMO. Definitely worth a watch.

RobBlake 11-26-2017 12:16 PM

That movie where he has to do some illegal shit for his son was entertaining too called Runner i think
