Ian Rappaport reporting Josh McDaniels likely to Indy

Sounds like DC Patricia is likely to leave for either Detroit or new york as well

CaliforniaChief 01-15-2018 11:22 AM

So that's kind of a downer for the Titans, no?

I thought that was the reason they were moving on from Mularkey. Maybe they'll hire Bob Sutton. Do they have a Rooney Rule for old, demented, wash-ups?

New World Order 01-15-2018 11:23 AM

Rap just said that McDaniels would prefer the Titans over all jobs.

Everything I saw from Rapoport today suggests that McDaniels probably prefers Tennessee.

Given Luck's health, wonder if the Colts draft a QB anyway and dangle as trade bait if Luck doesn't work out. Much as I wish it weren't the case, because I hate Indy... think Rosen would clash with a lot of teams, but McDaniels seems like the right kind of asshole to keep another asshole in line.

Tennessee is a better job currently than Indy IMO.

Better overall roster, less crazy ownership, etc.

The only thing Indy has going for it is Andrew Luck but that is obviously a huge question mark with his health situation.

He'd be reunited with Matt "Ice" Cassel in TN.

The Titans should have been a lot better than they were. That roster is pretty nice. And Mariota has a sky high ceiling.

This is true. Colts have Luck, Hilton, and very little else. Tennessee just needs a good coach to get the most out of Mariota.

That roster is pretty damn good.

Hiring DeGuglielmo as OLine coach is interesting. We won the SB in '14 with him as the OLine coach, but the line regressed badly in 2015, and so BB fired him and Pats got Scar back. I guess Josh didn't think nearly as badly of him as BB did.

Looks like the Colts are moving to the 4-3. Wonder if we can pry any of their 3-4 players from them.

It's been a long, long time since we've seen bad special teams play. Was it exceptionally brilliant this year? Of course not. But far from bad.

GoChargers 02-06-2018 06:45 PM

It's official: McDouchebag hasn't changed one bit since Denver. Between that and the horrible track record of Belicheat's assistants away from the cheating in Foxboro, the Colts got bailed out of a huge mistake.

I’m not a lawyer, but the Colts making the announcement and scheduling the press conference is pretty damning evidence that they had a verbal agreement.
