Putting this on Netflix as a stunt was smart because no way it would have worked in theaters. But at least the explained where the monsters came from. Kind of. I think. |

Was the first 'chapter' of Cloverfield any good?
|
it got really bad as soon as the words "calibrating the gyro" are mentioned
|
It was just OK. Not bad but not really good either. But it does explain the monster appearing, kind of. Definitely would have flopped hard in theaters.
|
Yup. Very meh.
|
Not bad but a waste of a pretty decent cast imo.
|
the only problem i have is, i don't recall the world being on edge of war due to resources running out, in the first one :D
|
This movie felt like it could have been a whole lot better if it wasn't all over the place plot wise.
|
Gawd this movie was a mess. The script was all over the place. They are supposed to be intelligent people on a space station. They are the slowest thinking people ever. It took forever for them to figure out shit.
It was a wasted talented cast. Horrible script and direction. |
Did the ending make sense to anyone at least?

Spoiler!

Sucked. We turned it off after 45min. Surprised we made it that long... it was stupid. Piss poor writing, over the top acting, trope-riddled nonsense.
|
I liked 10 Cloverfield Lane the CGI of John Goodman was astounding very believable it was him. Don't recall watching Cloverfield but maybe bits of it. I may have to check this out when I get Netflix again.
RIP JG. |

I don’t remember talk in the first movie of any world war or energy crisis? Why were those dudes partying it up in Manhattan at the beginning of the first Cloverfield? Was the ship that was rocketing towards earth at the end of this movie the same one seen crashing into the ocean at the end of the first movie? So many questions.... |
interesting take:

That was very informative.
Crazy how many Easter Eggs they fit into the three movies. |

I think the actors did all they could. The story/script was weak. I'd argue the actors did an excellent job and the story was %#it. Honestly, this film was just an excuse for whatever studio JJ works with to print a film and slap some spicy mustard on it in post production. While I'll always be a mongoloid for shows like FRINGE and LOST i don't have to keep sucking the twisted nipple... |
