This would fit the Veach game plan.

Highly touted coming out, underperformed as of late, high ceiling.

Simply Red 03-04-2018 04:07 PM

cute name, I'll say that.

kccrow 03-04-2018 04:08 PM

I really hope not yet considering the tampering bullshit the Chiefs have been caught up in in the past. Wish peeps wouldn't report this garbage in the mainstream.

But yet the media has narrowed the Kirk Cousins field down to four.

Absolute bullshit that the Chiefs got penalized in the Maclin situation.

And Lotulelei better come cheap. Underwhelming player. Dude is turning 29 this year too...

BryanBusby 03-04-2018 04:18 PM

And was a fat sack of blah on a pretty talented DL.

Chief Northman 03-04-2018 04:23 PM

And is a Mormon.....

Reid’s greasy fingerprints are behind this potential signing.

Vet Minimum, sure.

Anything more? Nope.

Easy 6 03-04-2018 04:29 PM

I wouldnt be against this move, at all

Make the contract team friendly, and hope that a change of scenery is the right medicine

Iconic 03-04-2018 04:33 PM

Maybe he'd thrive in a 3-4

BryanBusby 03-04-2018 04:42 PM

Unless they are using him to get the scoop on his younger brother I just don't get it

Rain Man 03-04-2018 04:43 PM

I drafted this guy in our alternative reality game, so I've been following him the past few years. He's a 4-3 DT who's not the best one on the team, and he gets very few stats. He may be more of the nose tackle type who ties up blockers for other players, but don't expect him to put up flashy numbers.

I'm down. I like Veach's strategy!

Do you think we could pry robert nkemdiche from the Cards for a mid level pick? Similar to Ragland?

He's a STAR!!! Lol

LoneWolf 03-04-2018 05:06 PM

Based off of his play the last couple of seasons, he should come cheap.

pugsnotdrugs19 03-04-2018 05:09 PM

If he’s really cheap, I’d like it. We need to fill a ton of holes while also keeping the cap under control, so those kinds of deals are good to have.

In58men 03-04-2018 05:15 PM

**** him

Pasta Little Brioni 03-04-2018 05:18 PM

Lol he's 29 not some young kid with potential. JFC...

BryanBusby 03-04-2018 07:46 PM

He was playing next to one of the best DT's in the NFL and stopped about as much as a condom with holes in it.

I have no ****ing idea why there's any interest.

bigjosh 03-04-2018 07:54 PM

pff ranks him at 109th of defensive linemen. below average to poor.

Chief Northman 03-04-2018 08:08 PM

I have no clue why Pauline would be reporting this.

This could all be speculative bullshit. Why would leaks of KC’s purported interest in a mid-low tier free agent come to light now?

I hope it is just some twitter hacks throwing shit at the wall.

Certainly could be just checking in. I'm sure they'll have interest in a ton of defensive players

Mr_Tomahawk 03-04-2018 08:46 PM

Pass.

Deberg_1990 03-04-2018 08:57 PM

2013 NFL Draft

Worst draft of all times

That sounds like a slight exaggeration. Carolina had the 3rd ranked run D. I imagine Star was asked to tie up blockers while Short accumulated 7.5 sacks.

It really isn't. He's trended downward as a run stuffer since his rookie season and completely bottomed out after 2015.

He sucks ass.

Titty Meat 03-04-2018 09:57 PM

DaQuan Jones would be the guy I'd sign

He hasn't been very good...Logan graded out higher.

ChiefRocka 03-05-2018 05:10 AM

Easy to lay down when Superman cleans up after you.

Dunerdr 03-05-2018 08:08 AM

I oft. Wonder why I didn't declare for the 2013 draft.

tatorhog 03-05-2018 08:14 AM

Wasn't he reported to have some kind of medical condition during his combine? If I remember right it was a heart thing, or something.

Maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

Stryker 03-05-2018 09:15 AM

Hell no! He is 29 years old and is not worth pursuing. In a very good defense, he has done nothing. Nothing to see here...move along!

He's started a 46 games over the last three years. If he had heart issues they seem to be under control.

O.city 03-05-2018 09:27 AM

At 29, I'd pass.

Much younger better players out there.

Mother****erJones 03-05-2018 10:42 AM

I’d rather sign Sheldon Richardson or Wilkerson on a risky deal than this.

I’m counting on this and Mahomes to fuel my comeback in that game. If this happens I’ll have Star AND Fisher. Time to dominate.

Simply Red 03-05-2018 01:08 PM

I say this is a soft pass.

RunKC 03-05-2018 02:20 PM

You know, I don’t like Star as a 5 tech, but I’d be very happy with him being our NT. NT salary is actually very cheap. Logan was vastly overpaid for it last year, but a contract for 3 years at $5 million avg would be good with me.

He wasn’t a good pass rusher but he has been a consistently good run defender from what I’ve seen.

Could be a Domata Peko type of situation. He looked much better last year as Denver’s NT than he had for a few years in Cincinnati’s 4-3.

Kiimo 03-05-2018 02:46 PM

Star Lotulelei being Not Great just further exemplifies how much the 2013 NFL Draft was like the worst one in 20 years to have the #1 pick in.

they need to strip the Cheaps of their first round pick and ban them from being in the SuperbowlROFL

Titty Meat 03-05-2018 02:53 PM

I'd rather sign him for cheap and have him in the rotation instead of broke dicks like Jarvis Jenkins.

He looked like more of the run stuffer/multiple block occupier to allow Kawann Short to get 1X1’s which is what Domata Peko did for Geno Atkins in Cincy.

Star has a wide base, long enough arms and did 38 bench reps at the combine, with which he’s gotten stronger from an NFL weight training program.

It wouldn’t surprise me that we were interested bc the market is not strong for these guys and it’s not realistic to have a 2nd or 3rd rd pick come in and start against grown men from day 1.

I wanted Pennel but the Jets will likely keep him. They have tons of cash and used this guy to replace Wilkerson.

Dallas Chief 03-05-2018 03:23 PM

The mormon connection. Always.

Knowing how much Troy Vincent seems to dislike the Chiefs, they probably would.

What makes me the most pissed about "reported interest" in Star is that he has never really been very good and he's 29. I absolutely do not want him on this team.

Actually insane how bad the 2013 draft was for the teams selecting in the top half of the draft- such a Chiefs move to get a 1st overall in 2013.

I'd take Bennie over Star every day of the week. I'd rather neither, in reality. Both overpriced for what you get.

I think that's the idea. For Star to improve upon Logan's play enough to allow Jones to be one of the best in the league. Jones was hindered too much by the guys around him.

Will sign with the bills to a five year deal, according to schefter
