Just put flags on the QB and be done with it...
You can't go low on them...
You can't touch their helmet... You can't hit them leading with your helmet... You can't put your weight on them... You can't "launch" at them... You can't touch them within a nanosecond after they release the ball... It's ****ing unreal anymore |
heh yeah put them in poodle skirts
|
PETE!!!!!
|
the one that gets me the most is the you can't put your weight on them. Already seen that called today and it's just bullshit. How are you supposed to tackle a guy and what constitutes putting your weight on them? I
It's just another judgement call the Refs will make whenever they feel they need to change the game somehow.... |
Thing is this thread will get 300+ replies somehow because Pete threads always do.
|
Grrrrr I'm angry!!

That call on Cleveland was horeshit.
Just awful |
Pete thread
|
I doubt Pete will have any problems with this when it benefits/protects Mahomes

Saints got bit by the "weight on the QB" flag on back-back plays.....not sure what the **** a guy is supposed to do? You bullrush a QB straight on and tackled him...what are you supposed to do?

Lucky for us Sutton’s scheme fits perfect to counter the rule. We avg 1 or 2 sacks a game, we prefer to keep our best pass rusher in coverage and we get that rare two or three blitzes a game. We got it covered.
|
Sutton, playing 5d chess.
|
I think it essentially comes down to you have to arm tackle the QB around the waist only...anything else is a flag
|
It seems like we've picked the perfect time to draft our franchise quarterback. The future of the game is all about quarterbacks throwing to receivers, and the only way to lose a game will be if your receivers drop the ball.
Maybe the other strategy is the Cam Erving strategy. Start offensive linemen who will let the defenders get close to the quarterback. That'll be a 15-yard gain on every play. |
Cinci just got robbed of a turnover because of the weight rule....
|
wow thats bullshit this game is being destroyed..might as well make rushing the passer illegal..just drop everyone back
|
Yup, gotta grab them by the jersey and toss them down not so hard . Can’t fall on them.

Rules are changed to protect the qb |

Vikings just got hit with the weight flag....and I notice they aren't saying what it is, they are just calling roughing
|
wow another in Min against the Vikings and he barely put any weight on him..I tuck my kids into bed harder than that
|
Just happened in the Vikings Niners game LMAO
|
I like it now that we have a franchise QB, but seriously. That "can't put weight on the QB" foul is total horseshit.
Football moves fast. Unless you make sacking the QB a foul, guys are going to go after the freakin QB. They're going to move fast. QBs are still going to get hit. You're not protecting QBs with these penalties. |
This new "can't fall on the QB" rule is horsehit. Watching redzone and it is happening all over the league and it is killing excellent defensive stands. The Vikings game just had this and the guy was literally holding himself up so as to not hit him with all his weight and it was still called.
BULL SHIT. |
Out of the 6 bodyweight flags I've seen today, only the Vikings one would be considered legit. The QB had already thrown the ball and the defender grabbed the legs and drove him into the ground. So one 1 of 6 calls are legit and that will be the one they go to to show why we need the rule

There needs to be a nationwide petition campaign to the NFL about this body weight ****ery
|
Pete complaining constantly about the refs. Color me shocked
