Are you concerned with Butkers recent inability to convert extra points?
4 missed this year. What’s wrong?
Will this come back to haunt at some point?? |
Yes in the playoffs when our running game falls off the map. He will be the new CP folklore villain.
|
He’s automatic when it comes to Field Goals. Extra Points I cringe
|
Cut his ass immediately.
|
In 2017 he had 28 XP attempts.
In 2018 he has had 55 XP attempts so far. Just kicking a lot more. Not really shocking he's missed a few. |
We should just go for 2 every time. Wouldn’t advocate that for most teams but Chiefs would score more points if they did.
|
he lost the playoff game last year right?
I would be concerned Santos used to make me nervous too |
The raiders kick was blocked, not missed
Also, look around the league. Kicking is TERRIBLE. The Steelers normally reliable Boswell has had an awful year. Crosby missed 4 kicks. The Bears has a kicker miss 4 in a game as well. I have no idea what it is by something has happened and nobody can kick anymore. Even Justin TUCKER missed an XP Butker is still a top kicker in 2018, relative to everyone else |
Can he play Safety?

Yeah, if it comes down to the kicker...we're gonna lose. Not #becausechiefs but rather #becausekickers. That's not exclusive to us - ask the Vikings. Gary Anderson had the best season in NFL history for a kicker; didn't miss a single damn kick. Until the NFC championship game when their record breaking offense (and 15-1 season) came apart with his first miss of any kick of any kind all season. Don't. Let. Your. Kicker. Matter. If he does, you've already lost. |
There’s cause for concern, yes.

Might need to sign Kareem Hunt to be the kicker.
|
also there is a lot more to it then just the kicker missing it. Sure that happens but the hold could have been bad, the timing could have been off

We should consider ourselves fortunate to have Butt Kicker. Look around the league....he's one of the best right now. Kickers in general are having a down year it seems. |

nope not worried at all. he's been automatic most of his career, so I'm not losing sleep over it. its fine, i swear. I'm not worried.

Which kickers would we rather have?
I'd take Justin Tucker for sure...other than that, they seem about the same to me. |

If I'm counting correctly, there's been 54 missed XP kicks in the NFL this season. It's not just Buttkicker....

Do you have any idea how much practice time would need to be devoted to short yardage plays? Or worse, how many short yardage plays you'd have on tape? Hell, you'd need to have a slew of them just to get through the 60+ 2 point attempts we'd have in a given season. It works will on a spreadsheet but in practice it's just not feasible. Unless you built a team around a road-grading line and you just intended to line up and push the defense backwards, it's just not something that would work over any appreciable timeline. Reps are currency and every rep your putting towards building up those 2 pt plays is a rep you can't use to improve your ability between the 20s or even on basic red zone efficiency. Nope nope nope, 1,000 times nope. Refusing to ever punt would make more sense than always going for 2 and by a fair amount. |

We have one of the more fortunate kicking situations in the league right now. |

Buttkicker ain't a problem. |
More concerned about the players fielding punts inside the 5 and always trying to return the ball.

This. He's kicking so many that his percentage is still 93% (25th among kickers with 15 or more XP attempts). That's low as far as leaguewide numbers go, but it doesn't alarm me because he's 19/20 in field goals.

Also, if you'll notice, misses are much much more frequent now that they've moved it back a few yards.
Posted via Mobile Device |

Yes because he is on FFL kicker and I am heading into the playoffs with Lesean MCCoy as my RB1. I need every point I can get. It's all about me.
|
No. It's a 35 yard FG. He's 51/55. 92%. I'm not sure how much of that block was on him either. Not bad at that range and it's just a lot of volume. I'm not sure why people would expect the new XP to be as efficient as XP's from the 10.
He's a 90% kicker. I'm fine with it. Sometimes I think his leg just gets tired from all the kickoffs and XP's. KC scores a lot of touchdowns. |
1. Take one of the Chiefs best players
2. Find some small thing he's done wrong 3. Make a thread about it 4. Decide that this might be the reason we lose the Superbowl 5. Profit Am I doing CP right? I wonder if some Pats fan made a thread "Is Tom Brady's Ability To Catch A Cause For Concern?" If so they are the winners. In summary, just enjoy the games and stop freaking out. We may win or we may not and predicting what will be the problem is useless now that we have Mahomes. |
Why should we be? This is a touchdown league, baby. If it gets really bad, Chiefs should just go for 2 every time. A 50% conversion rate would be just fine.
|
Mahomes is wearing out Buttkickers leg on Extra points- Alex did it on Field Goals.

That's a crazy stat. Personally, I think his problem is that he's bored... |
