Sources: #Chiefs CB Kendall Fuller played through a painful wrist injury, believed to be a fracture, in last night’s loss to the #Chargers. The plan is to have surgery this morning. A blow to their secondary.

Oh shit, that really sucks.

Just finished the GDT, and man, so much defeat going on. With Mahomes, Hill, Kelce, and the trio of Chris Jones, Houston, and Ford.. it's just way too much defeat going on. The other RBs also look to be plenty capable of helping out on runs and screens.

Chiefs, Pats, Bolts, and Texans. That's the AFC four, and I still say KC has a favorable shot. The end of this game was rough, but it could be the right kind of face slap they needed.. and at the right time.

^ That was my perspective after last night and before reading THIS ****ing nightmare news. Fuller is actually very good.. most of the time.

Still a fair shot to win it all, but with this defense, they are constantly going to need to score more than 28 against the best of the best. KC needs to hope Keenan Allen stays down, because with Mike Williams exploding + that usual defense.. that could be enough to push the Bolts through.

That AP injury expert kinda suggested that it’s possible that he will be able to play through whatever it is shortly after minor surgery seeing how they had him play through it last night.

This season is a head job for sure...

Sucks for him and I hate seeing anyone getting injured but I’m having a difficult time caring within the context of how awful this defense is. Unless this offense scores on 9/10 possessions we are toast come playoff time.

This is the kind of loss that can completely ruin a season. Where the wheels start to come off the wagon.

That was one of the worst ways to lose a game. Then the Chiefs lost 5 straight.

Fuller wasn’t keeping this D from being the worst in the NFL. This Chiefs team will only go as far as the offense will take them.

Yeah. I hate to be a debbie downer but I have to agree. Doesn't matter how good Mahomes is - the Defense can't get out of their own way. And we *should* be honest here - we have known this from day one.

The Chief's "plan" (if you will) was to simply keep outscoring the other guys...great plan, unless the offense has an off day or two. Once you find yourself in a position of having to protect a lead - they are screwed.

The team is so bad both ways on defense that losing another player likely won't make a huge difference. The only reason the wheels didn't come off earlier is because the pass rush righted itself for a few games, and we played a string of bad teams.

This defense will get mauled by any sort of a good offense, you can't be this one dimensional and be a legitimate contender.

Silver lining is this was a reminder to coaching staff that we still have zero defense. Game plan is to score as much as possible regardless of score.

Exactly the case. I'll add that the ISLB's and Secondary are CRAP. The Pass rush is good enough, yet the Secondary still sucks. If any QB throws 3 to 4 passes in a row, they're gonna get called for Holding or DPI. That's almost a certainty.

If people look at this honestly, your take is right on the money. Our defense stinks regardless of Fuller or not. If Berry can come back and plays an entire game, that would make a huge difference. I would have preferred anyone else in the secondary (sans Berry) get hurt than Fuller, but its not like this makes the worst defense in the league that much worse.

How many games has Fuller won us? Our secondary is freaking terrible even with him in it, our defense is the worst in the league, so now its a little bit worse, well, we are already at the bottom so its a moot point.

Just cover WRs, and stick a paw in to break passes up. Wrap tackle and there ya go.

Get back to me when we lose either Pat, Tyreek or Kelce because that’s that’s the players that will determine how far this Chiefs team goes. The defense sucks and will not get better this year with or without Fuller.
