Eric Dickerson threatens holdout.

The internet didn't exist the last time that Eric Dickerson's ego was rampaging, so I figure the thread title will make up for lost time.

Apparently Eric has been organizing hall of fame players, whether they know about it or not, and is threatening a boycott of the Hall of Fame ceremony (and not just because Patrick Bowlen's name will soon sully the Hall).

Eric believes that Hall of Famers should get a $300,000 lifetime annual salary and free health care. Because, you know, Hall of Fame players never made any money in their careers and deserve free stuff.

Apparently, there's a little division in the group, though. Eric sent the letter with the signatures of his new organization's board members, and Kurt Warner said that his signature was "mistakenly applied", while Jerry Rice said, "What board? What letter?"

I find it funny that Eric Dickerson still feels so entitled.

Per our new policy, I saw this originally on a feed that attributed the story to Pro Football Talk, but since that's a fake news site I googled it and found a legitimate source to link to. And I just realized that this is an old story from last fall, which would explain why Pro Football Talk is just now reporting it.

Dickerson is one of those butt****ing idiots who kept claiming that defenses would figure out Mahomes when they got enough tape on him. He maintained that Todd Gurley should win the MVP until the very bitter end.

**** CTE. I hope he gets full-blown Alzheimer's. If that happened, maybe he would make some sense once in a while.

What about Alzheimer’s and AIDS?

Throw some diabeetus in there just to be sure.

Did Dickerson make more $ at SMU or in the NFL?

Malcolm Jenkins is saying lifetime healthcare is going to be something they want in the new CBA...

Flying High D 07-22-2019 08:30 AM

Spent to much money on chemicals for his shag. Hence, now broke and bald.

Lucky for them there is Obamacare.

So, the OL that logs 10 years of service and 3 PB's, but doesn't get into the HOF, is left on the outside of this Gold Jacket Policy? LOL. How about getting a job that has health insurance after your NFL career is over? Most normal human beings have to work more than 10 years in their career, and if you change jobs after 10 years, your former employer doesn't have to keep taking care of you for life (outside of a pension plan - which the NFL already has). I'd say I'm amazed at the set of balls on these idiots, but, ya know, this is par for the pampered athlete course.

I think their best bet is to renegotiate their NFL retirement package to get better health benefits and an increased pension for ALL players - not just the Gold Jacket Gang.

Flying High D 07-22-2019 08:43 AM

^ Good luck finding a company that has pension plan. If they do have a pension plan, nothing like $20 a month for every year you worked for them.

Mecca 07-22-2019 08:46 AM

You can't compare it to a regular job....look at the other leagues.

If a baseball player puts in 10 years he gets 100k a year and lifetime healthcare.

Yep - legit Pension Plans are a thing of the past. The NFL, apparently, has one of the better 401K plans for Pro Athletes, not that you are eligible to contribute for very long (Average NFL Career = 3.5yrs).

His goggles must be on too tight, cutting off circulation to his brain.

Considering that healthcare is a human right, football players should absolutely get it for free, along with literally everyone else.

Flying High D 07-22-2019 09:40 AM

^ America should provide free healthcare to the universe.

How quickly can we get this to DC?

Keeping and bearing firearms is an American right, so we should all get a gun and lifetime ammo for free.

Constitutional issues aside, Dickerson amuses me. The guy was one of the most beautiful running backs to watch ever. He was graceful and fast and simultaneously pretty big. But it came attached to a personality that was decidedly subpar.

Freedom is speech is an American right, so we should all go KCTV5 / KC Star and make up stories intended to get public figures canned.

If he hit a seam he was gone. There was no catching that man from behind.
