Honestly who notices what shoes people are wearing? I mean I guess if someone was walking around in clown shoes or snow shoes I would probably notice. I'm 40 with three kids, I dont party anymore and love this area. There are outstanding restaurants around here and City Butcher is every bit as good as any BBQ I've had in KC. I enjoy visiting bigger cities but wouldn't live in one if my life depended on it. Hell, Springfield is too big for me.

I work for a university off campus but we often have to walk on and across a big-ass campus. So standard issue is jeans, polo or button down shirt, and comfy sneakers. These are basically what everyone wears - minus the colors.

I like to design my own shoes on the Nike web site, but I've noticed that sports team brands are so powerful that they kind of limit my choices. I'll design a great shoe and then step back and think, "Those are the XXX team colors. I can't do that." But the problem is that almost any set of colors matches some well-known sports team.
