Have you noticed that the Chiefs logo is different on the two sides of the helmet?

I was thinking about the Chiefs helmet today and never really paid attention to the fact that the logos are different.

The left side of the helmet has the "K" in the point of the Arrowhead. The right side of the log has the "C" in point of the Arrowhead. It's kind of required given that you want the arrowhead to point forward and not have the letters backwards.

The right side appears to be the official logo, which makes the left side really exotic.

Well I'll be.

mililo4cpa 12-13-2020 11:50 AM

It's bothered me for years lol.....

but I'm a very symmetrical person, so not having mirror image logos would bother someone like me

Easy 6 12-13-2020 11:51 AM

I'm not seeing it...

htismaqe 12-13-2020 11:51 AM

It's because they don't want the point of the arrow pointing backwards.

Donger 12-13-2020 11:52 AM

Yes, and what would the orientation be if it was on the back of the helmet?

I can only assume that the arrowhead would point upward.

what would you prefer? I don't really see an alternative that would be more pleasing to an OCPD brain.

either the arrow faces backwards, or the letters would have to be true mirror images, which would not be readable

K Thanks

Its just backwards

seclark 12-13-2020 12:19 PM

Tremors and hiccups are a bad combination.

It's for continuity with the Arrowheads both moving forward..

They sell magnets like that, too.

The original redcoats had them pointing to the Left also.

Best example would be Earnhardts three leaning forward on both ides of the car.

Fish 12-13-2020 12:40 PM

That's always bugged the hell out of me. I'm kinda OCD about symmetry...

htismaqe 12-13-2020 12:59 PM

Funny I'm crazy OCD about symmetry and I have no issue with this.

As far as I'm concerned, they'd look far more out-of-place of one of them was pointing backwards instead of forward.

ChiefsFanatic 12-13-2020 01:22 PM

I thought everyone knew this.

It's not that I don't care, but my head isn't exploding either. I vote neat.

Could they flip it for that left side? Would this work?

No silly. That would wrinkle space time.

Wait, did people not know this?

tx4chiefs 12-13-2020 03:34 PM

That's the marching flag on the soldier. It symbolizes the army marching forward and the flag blowing behind. My uniform had the same flag for the 32 years, I wore it.

Scooter LaCanforno 12-13-2020 03:42 PM

And the Steelers Logo is only on the right side of their helmet.

That's a cool factoid.

I did not know that, but that actually makes sense!

Never dawned on me this is a good catch, very observant.

Yeah, someone on page 1 pointed it out though. When you walk forward (in this case, the individual appears to be), the flag would be flying in this direction.

Edited: I see you saw it now. Good deal.

ROYC75 12-13-2020 04:33 PM

Wut?

You mean we have logo's on our helmets?

RINGLEADER 12-13-2020 04:42 PM

Actually, there are only six teams with the same logo on both sides...

On Edit: I think it might be nine...

Shiver Me Timbers 12-13-2020 05:05 PM

I made big ass KC arrowheads out of timber for corbels on my back patio. They point towards each other and I had to take the forward /backward KC into account. My mill shop guy was confused until I showed him (pictures) of what I meant. His exact words, "I'll be damned, I never noticed that before"

chefsos 12-13-2020 05:06 PM

...but the "C" on the helmet isn't the same as the one in the official logo. Helmet "C" is kind of straight and open, and the official logo "C" curls around and is closed. It's been that way for a long time, too.

Or am I misunderstanding the point?

EDIT: While I'm at it, I HATE HATE HATE the white border around the official logo (as it appears on Reid's hat in OP). I've had jackets/hats with that crap, and immediately employed a red marker to erase it/blend into the red background.

Thank You for your service to OUR Nation!
Much appreciated

DeepPurple 12-13-2020 05:39 PM

The only time it bothered me was when I watched Nascar and the numbers leaned the wrong way.

Jeff Gordon didn't care.

But Alex Bowman did care.

Ravens cared.

Then there is the Steelers who only have a logo on one side.

The C opened to the front of the arrow(point) looks better. imo.

Is there a rule that the blue field has to be the attachment point to the flagpole? If you attached it on the all-striped side you could move and keep the branding consistent.

493rd 12-13-2020 07:44 PM

Well **** me silly...never noticed this!

Cleavage 12-13-2020 07:54 PM

My tits are lopsided but that's part of my charm.

redfan 12-13-2020 07:58 PM

Of course you'd have a left and a right if you want the point of the arrowhead to point forward on both sides.

HayWire 12-13-2020 08:31 PM

Ummm...wait. You joking RM? It's been this way for years. Look up old pics when Stram wore a suit with a logo and it's backwards too
