**** Tom Brady. I don't even want to see that ass clown in the same picture as Mahomes, let alone purchase the game. Hard pass.

At least Brady’s not sticking seven fingers in Patrick’s face

Actually, knowing that Brady signed off on being on the cover with Mahomes...

I don't even really care that Brady is on there with him, that's twice in three damn years he's going to be on the cover.
That's absolutely amazing. |

I'm not putting a picture of Tom Brady up there, regardless of who he's standing there with. Not even Mahomes. |
I don't know...I can't root for the Madden Curse now...

Love it.

To think that this is his fourth year starting and second year on the cover says a lot. Face of the league and he is ours for the long haul.

The last time Mahomes was on the cover? We won the Super Bowl.
The last time Brady was on the cover? He lost the Super Bowl. |

Very odd. |

Actually it was Calvin Johnson. 1681 yards and 16 TDs in 2011.

Please let this game not suck.

They had a Mahomes cover and then they ruined it by adding in a cheater. It's like someone painted a cheesy mustache on the Mona Lisa.
|
There are so many better ways EA Sports could have gone if they wanted the multi-generational GOAT cover.
Mahomes and Montana, Mahomes and Unitas (Photoshop him to life), etc. |

Did Madden 18 suck? That was the last engine redesign, since then it's been roster updates.

Is that the old guy who tongue kisses 12 year old boys?

Le'Veon Bell would rather hang up his controller than be on the Madden cover.
|
Some of you are getting really spoiled.
If I had told you 10 years ago we'd have a QB on the cover of Madden twice in a three year period, but the second time he'd have to share the cover with Brady, you would have done backflips. It's unheard of to have the same guy on the cover two times, not to mention in such a short time frame. It's an incredible accomplishment for Pat. The guy is a true generational superstar. I never, ever thought I'd see the day where we'd have a QB of this stature and am grateful to be able to witness it. |

Just a bunch of **** Tom Brady..... and the reason for that is **** Tom Brady. |
Quote:
Any way you slice it, him being on the cover twice in three years is just plain amazing. Even sharing it with that pile of garbage. |
Quote:
But the guy goes to a completely different team and won the Super Bowl his first year there...at age 43...and looked fantastic while doing it. And even though he beat us, at least he won't be in the way of us making the Super Bowl anymore. I'll celebrate when he retires as much as anyone, but at some point you just have to tip your cap and try to appreciate that how good he is. He's one of the few players in NFL history that are pretty much undisputed as the "goat". |
Anybody remember when "goat" meant a player who was blamed for one terrible performance or play that ruined everything? "In that AFC Championship game, Dee Ford was the goat." This is how it used to be. At some point it became "Greatest of All Time" and it is kind of stupid so I think we should go back to the way it was before.

Tom Brady is the biggest PED scandal in sports history just waiting to get exposed.
Time go stop celebrating him. |
Quote:
Mind boggling how gullible people are. I highly doubt it will ever be exposed, though. I don't know who Brady sold his soul to, but he's getting every last cent out of that deal. |

I found a pencil laying next to my computer, so I stabbed it in my left eye. It hurt like hell, but now I can't see Brady on the cover anymore, just Mahomes. Worth it.

<iframe src="https://giphy.com/embed/l2YWfaNaTk1Ljiifm" width="240" height="135" frameBorder="0" class="giphy-embed" allowFullScreen></iframe> ...the Patriots beating both the Raiders and Rams in one postseason was pretty damn amazing at the time (at the time, the few Rams fans around here were pretty damn obnoxious, plus a few idiots I went to school with). ...there's the cheating and what not, but the Chiefs sucked for the vast majority of that time and it never really impacted my football fandom. ...I've never been one to hate successful players. ...I've never been one to hate seeing the same teams in the playoffs/SB every year as long as that team is worthy of being there... and they've played in some great playoff and SB games. ...I really thought that the 2018 AFCCG is when the Chiefs had 'arrived'. All I've ever wanted is for the Chiefs to contend with the best in the biggest games of the year, and they did that, even with the shitty defense. So, I actually hate him more now given... ....the whole 'golden boy'/crying to the refs thing directly impacted the Chiefs' chances at winning a SB. ...the Bucs had a Knights-level of luck just to get to the SB, and similar to the Knights, it's so much more about the system than the talent (and there's still some respect with knowing how to win at 47yo or whatever). ...and while I really hope some NFC team can step up, any chance of Brady making the SB now significantly reduces my interest if the Chiefs also make it back (and destroys it otherwise), due to what happened in Feb. That's just a thing now until he retires. Sour grapes and what not, but even if the Chiefs only had one in ten chance of winning that game, the calls in that game completely skewed my perspective, and if it's the Chiefs/Bucs next season, WTH would I get excited for that, have people over, treat it like the party it should be? And that really sucks. |
|
I got lucky and scooped a beta code, gotta' say I'm not terribly impressed so far with the franchise add ons. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't really this. They kind of just laid the foundation and backbone of some interesting ideas but they seem relatively barren with little real impact on most things. I don't think we will see the fruits of it till the Madden cycle after this.
But then again they do have 3 live updates planned for franchise so maybe that helps. |

What I hate about him is he's getting shit ass ****ing lucky all the goddamn time in his later years, and people are claiming that's all him. I know football is a game of inches, and every QB out there has had some good and bad breaks in their careers that did or did not lead to championships, but this mother****er is taking it to the extreme. Had Dee Ford not lined up offsides, the Chiefs win, and Brady finishes that game with 1 TD and 3 INTs. You can also shave off all of his late game passing yards (about 100 of them). He would have been in his 40s against a young cannon of a QB, and he would have looked like utter ****ing dogshit so much that people would remember his late career for choking, not winning. One ****ing offsides away. This one less so, but again in a conference championship, he gets to face the Packers without both starting tackles (hmm... how interesting) AND Aaron Rodgers doesn't run in for the easy TD. That one isn't as close of a call, since it was just bone-headedness from the opposing QB, but what was Brady's statline? Yep. This time he actually did throw 3 picks. If he loses that game, people look at him yet again as a choker. How about losing two straight SBs to the Giants, and on his next one he gets a gift from God when his defense bails him out on that Wilson goal line INT? He loses that one, and he joins illustrious shit ass names like Horseface in the "lost three straight SBs" category. He still would have plenty of chances to get back to the big game, but the cards would certainly be stacked more defiantly against him at that point. I know the Tyree helmet catch and the Eagles loss and all that can be argued the other way, but those other three examples are the kinds of jaw droppingly lucky ass breaks that you see maybe once in an illustrious career. Brady's had it happen to him three times, all occurrences within the last 25% of his career. That's not greatness. That's not as a result of preparation or Marianne Williamson magnetic faith healing bullshit he believes in. That's just stupid ass ****ery that he fell ass over tea kettle into. If I'm an all-time great like Dan Marino or Jim Kelly and I look at all the horseshoes that fall out of Brady's loose butthole, I'd want to throw a goddamn ax through my TV every time I watch one of his Super Bowls. What the hell did that mother****er do to snatch magic like that and wind up winning championships he had no business winning? And why do I look at my trophy case and see zero wins, and why do I look at my career highlights and find NONE of the lucky ass breaks this dipshit gets? I don't believe in karma, and I don't believe that luck has to balance out or regress to the mean or anything like that. But man, if those universal rules did apply, Brady would get Alex Smith'd on the first play of next season, the bacteria would work its way through his body, and he'd wind up as a brain in a jar for the rest of his life. |
