Lucas Niang Injury Update Please!
What is the word on Niang? We can't have current substiturd fill in for him very long. He's terrible.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">On Williams run, Lucas Niang knocked his defender to the ground. Trey Smith's defender pushed him into the ground and most of Smith's weight fell on Niang's left arm. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Chiefs?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Chiefs</a> <a href="https://t.co/M0NxbeRjYO">pic.twitter.com/M0NxbeRjYO</a></p>— Nick Jacobs (@Jacobs71) <a href="https://twitter.com/Jacobs71/status/1457464057691353094?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 7, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> https://twitter.com/Jacobs71/status/...rs-with-injury |

When Fox showed the replay of the play from behind, I was thinking Niang made a great block on that play then next thing you know he is walking off holding his side. I was thinking core muscle injury at first thinking he exerted himself in making the block.
I think Rib injury may be easier to heal from than a serious core muscle injury. But would still expect 3 weeks out minimum. Which could mean return after bye week. |
Can we somehow do a rib transplant from Wylie to Niang?

He looked real lost. And watching him all but crawl off the field with a guy holding his arm to keep him steady sure seemed like he'd had his bell rung. But maybe it just hurt that badly so they had to help him relax that side. If that's the case, that could've been a rib that got broken/displaced. In which case he'll miss some time. I'd almost prefer a concussion. Hope Remmers is back next week because Wylie is clearly nothing more than a stop-gap there. Gotta figure Crosby will just kick the shit out of him. |
Wylie isn't even a stop-gap. At least Mahomes is facing that direction so see his guy coming every play.

May the Schwartz be with us

Maxx Crosby will abuse whoever we play at RT.

Please no more Andrew Wylie. Remmers isn't that good but he's better than Wylie. I'd rather see PTW out there than Wylie.

Man I hope it's nothing serious. I broke three ribs last week and I'm still in a ****ton of pain.

How did you manage that? Any pointers for Niang? He will be reading this thread to see how long his recovery will take. |

Wylie is so ****ing awful at RT. We need Remmers back badly |

Wylie gave up a couple pass rushes yesterday, but he had some decent plays. At least on that last play he held up enough for Mahomes to find an escape route. Seems like Chiefs could give Wylie some TE or RB help if he has to start. Or get the ball out quick. It could be a blessing for the Chiefs to have a reason to get the ball out faster and get some rhythm on offense. |
Wylie =Jordon Black …. Maybe Lucas can get a painkiller shot and get back out there..

Can't believe i'm saying..."hope Remmers is ready" |
Niang isn't injured. This is just how the script goes.

Wylie is one that should never wear a Chiefs uniform aagin. He about got PMII killed in the SB and costs us $2.13M a year. If we have to play him again, it's time for D. Brown to step in and help. |
Move Brown to RT and get Willie Roaf out of retirement. :)

A parking cone is better than Wylie.

**** it, just put Alegretti over there and run right every ****ing down.
LOL |
Did Wylie really play that bad other than the one play he got burnt inside for a sack?
He wasn't on the lowest PFF grades iirc. |

It looked to me like Williams ran right into Niangs side then bounced it outside. Saw Niang look at him and kind of grab his side. I think it was friendly fire.
|
Yeah Williams plowed right into Niang, which worked well to create a pileup that Williams could bounce around. But not so well in that it injured our RT.

Ok, Ok, bad idea I guess. Just don't like the idea of a 3rd string RT, especially Wylie. |

Niang is back at practice. We will see how he does. They have 21 days to activate him or he will remain on IR for the rest of the season. |

Let's assume Niang gets activated this season. Does he take Kinnard's spot and Kinnard then moves to the Taxi Squad?
|
This guy needs to get healthy and be our RT.
I cannot watch Andrew Wylie get his shit pushed in for much longer. Niang might be slightly below average at best, but at least he brings a physical presence. Wylie just sucks and is a limp, weak lump of shit out there. |
He’ll opt out of practice
|
I would expect he will be used as depth until if/when he proves he can start, being he has to be beyond rusty.

I know it seems to be the thing nowadays on CP to joke about Niang getting injured but I really hope he's just had bad luck and is not injury prone. Do I think he's a potential future HOFer at RT? No, of course not. But I did see improvement from him throughout the season last year. And I think he could solidify that RT spot for years to come. I think we all, as Chiefs fans, should be hoping for that.

I dont' think he's a great RT by any means, but I think he was a good player. Hope he comes back healthy.

After all the shit we went through imagine being such a red-faced truefan that you call opting out at the beginning of the pandemic "quitting on the team" like some kind of rub some dirt on it reerun.
You're both ****ing stupid |

Don't turn this into a ****ing COVID debate. Do that stupid shit in a COVID thread.

Can I take “Always” for 800 Alex….
|
It's pretty clear him opting out didn't have any effect on their future plans for him. He was the starter last year and they haven't done anything to upgrade the position so they obviously are expecting him to take over the role long term.
The guy just needs to stay on the field. I keep forgetting about that opt out year which is actually going to work in our favor, because he has an extra year on his contract. He's still under team control for 2 more years after this season. He's going to be the starter next year for sure, and hopefully by playoff time this year so we don't have to watch Wylie get abused again when it counts. |
