Why do you like McCollum that much?

I like his size/speed combo and when he’s available. Offers 98 percent of the athletic profile of Woolen without the inflated price.

Makes sense, I'm not hammering for Woolen but man McCollum didn't look that great at the senior bowl

I think he just means your personal favorite by position, regardless of rank.

I hope the chiefs get Christian Watson in the first round. No risk, no reward. He has extreme athletic traits. His speed, change of direction and ability with the ball in his hands is rare. He even played a lot of RB in college. If he meets his potential, he’s a top 5 WR in the league. I’ve heard all the arguments for WRs in the 2nd round and later but nobody else has talent like this that will be available late in the first or thereafter. Pickens doesn’t have the ability to run after the catch or change direction. He’s linear, top end straight line speed guy with great range. Tolber is a bigger wr that can’t separate in comparison. Jahan Dotson has great hands but his three cone shows on tape with his change of direction also. He’s not an elite athlete. I could go on and poke holes in all these guys. But Watson has the athletic traits and tape to be special with mahomes. Go get Watson.

Can we go on record for not our top guys? Travis Jones will be a bust. He has athletic traits but poor technique and played lower competition. He’s a guy that stands up a lot and doesn’t play with leverage. That ability doesn’t translate in the nfl because of his poor technique and he got by with it in college. Maybe he gets coached up but I see Travis Jones as a bust.

What happened with Watson for you? I thought you were a fan?

Trade up for Jermaine Johnson or Jordan Davis

I read about how much route-running coaching he needed at the Senior Bowl. Dinged him for me.

I’d still get excited about the upside. There also would be a lot of people upset about it, which would be annoying if he isn’t a superstar.

Am I allowed to include trade up characters, or do I want to stay realistic?

I just thought it'd be cool if we came back in a week and we can see who should be real happy.

Some dudes have listed half the draft class, which kinda defeats the purpose, but good for them if they'll be easily pleased. I can relate to that. I've watched and read enough to like about a bunch of WR at this point, so there's only 1 or 2 guys I'd be meh on. But with that said, Burks is still *the* guy who stands out for me. Not including Jameson.

I've definitely missed out some players I like and would be v happy with. I like Moore, quite like Pickens etc. and I love Cine but think he'll be gone. My picks are not necessarily my favourites, but they're ones I think could fall to us at various slots with a number of them realistically picked together.

WR Williams & DE Ojabo for me in the first.

Alt options = Mafe & Pickens.

I am pretty flexible as long as after the first few rounds the Chiefs have drafted WR, CB, and DE.

Players I like because they are good players and would help the Chiefs are -

DE – Boye Mafe, Minnesota, 6-3, 261, 9 7/8 hands, 81” wing, 4.53 40 time, 38” vertical. Maybe 1st round but 2nd round for sure if he is there.

OT – Kellen Diesch, Arizona State, 6-7. 301, 9 ½ hands, 78 3/8 wing, 4.89 40 time, 32 vertical 3rd or 4th round

RB – Ty Chandler, North Carolina, 5-11, 204, 9 hand, 4.38 40 time.
North Carolina 2021 – 13 games, 182 rush, 1,092 yards, 13 TDs, 15 catches, 216 yards, 1 TD 2022 Shrine Bowl – 11 rush, 69 yards, 1 catch, 8 yards. 4th round or 5th if we acquired a pick with a trade.

If route running kept us from drafting a wr, we need to remove burks from our list. Watson has the ability to get better at route running. he has a lot of false steps off the line against the press but he can improve. He’s got quick feet and long arms. Watson provides a lot of the same gadget ability as burks. And watson is probably as good or better a route runner as burks right now. I like burks and I’d take him but he’s probably gone before we pick, and watson has better ability to separate than burks in routes with his acceleration. watson ceiling is so much higher than guys like Moore, Pickens or Dotson. You initial reaction to watson being superior to these other wrs was right. Trust your eyes.

If I had a magic wand to wave: Kayvon Thibodeaux hands down.

Unfortunately reality comes into play: Christian Watson and damn happy if the Chiefs land him. I love the guy (no gay).

I still really like him. Just a little less ready to pull the trigger on him in the first. And I’ll admit that Pickens has slipped slightly ahead of him for me because of his physicality.

But shit. I’ll be glad to have either guy. Just not sure I want to drop 29 or 30 on one of them any more. Need to see the board play out.
