Same as everyone, funnel you to ordering on an app, get your details, reliable payment through a connected credit/debit account, less work for TB, more free advertising data and a few crumbs of promotions in return.

I want the Taco Salad to return!:# Haven't eaten there since.:harumph:

TripleThreat 05-16-2022 07:33 PM

So my dad, for as long as I can remember (I turn 30 this summer) has ordered the Mexican pizza from Taco Bell.. Literally he would get JUST that.

I'm over here ordering a taco, bean burrito, quesadilla, chalupa. and he gets just. that.

Is it really that ****ing good? I swear on my life I've never gotten it before but I'm determined to get one now that it's returning.

I didn't know there were enough people that thought TB was so good as to be a member. Buying their food over and over? More drunks and stoners than I thought.

Do moms with kids feed them TB?

Coochie liquor 05-16-2022 08:26 PM

There’s a pizza place near us called Madison Avenue Pizza (but it’s not on Madison Avenue, which is weird). This week because of the TB Mexican pizza they are doing Mexican pizza. We ordered one tonight. It was good, BUT.... as a former St Louisan I spent many a birthday party at Happy Joe’s. I will always remember how good those Happy Joe’s Mexican pizzas were. This was good, but not as good as my memory is telling me those Happy Joe’s ones were. We added Pepadew peppers to ours tonight. Those bitches are so good!!!

Well, the $5 build your own craving box deal for reward members is awesome. I can get a Crunchwrap Supreme, a soft taco, chips and nacho cheese, and a drink for $5. A Crunchwrap by itself nowadays is almost $5.

Meh, I mostly know about it because I gave my local TB my email decades ago because they had a free birthday meal, then they advertised the app on the email. I don't think I've even signed up. Pretty sure the app isn't on my phone. The only times I even go to TB anymore is 'free taco for TDs' promotions, like when there's a TD in the SB or a stolen base in the WS.

I was being snarky with the 'crumbs' comment, some apps have great deals. QT pops a free Big Gulp or $.99 fresh cookies every couple weeks. QDoba has 1/2 price entrees once a month or so. And Red Robin has good rewards including a free burger and fries on BD as well.

All restaurants are Taco Bell!

I couldn't even tell you the last time I ate at one or where the closest one is to my house.

Taco Bell says changes have been made to the menu item behind the scenes: They've streamlined operations to keep kitchens moving quickly, altered their ingredient sourcing, and tweaked the packaging to leave a lighter footprint.
Wondering how it will be different?

Now, on to the Enchirito please...in the original foil container with three olives.

So has anyone tried these new 2022 Mexican Pizzas?

Chieftain 05-17-2022 05:14 PM

Big mistake by Taco Bell to take it off their menu in the first place.

Taco Bell is testing two new Mexican Pizza varieties

Taco Bell is spinning up new varieties of its popular Mexican Pizza.

The chain revealed that it’s testing two new types of the beloved menu item, which came back in May following a two-year absence because of pandemic-induced menu changes. For the unfamiliar, the Mexican Pizza consists of a flat, crispy tortilla covered with pizza sauce and either beans or ground beef. It’s topped with another tortilla that’s smothered with more sauce, a blend of cheeses and chopped tomatoes.

In Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the chain will sell a Cheesy Jalapeño Mexican Pizza that is described in a press release as “cheesier and spicier.” This new version is topped with nacho cheese sauce and spicy jalapeño slices and is priced between $4.99 and $5.49 depending on the restaurant.

And in Omaha, Nebraska, customers can try a Triple Crunch Mexican Pizza, which has three layers instead of the usual two. Taco Bell said that the “more to love” version also has twice the beans and beef. It costs $5.99.

Both pizzas go on sale beginning December 22 for a limited time.

Fast-food chains must constantly compete for customers’ dollars and attention, and specialty offerings are a way to try to cut through the noise. Taco Bell, in particular, regularly experiments with its menu by adding limited-time offers to stimulate customer interest.

In particular, the Mexican Pizza has been an enormous success for the chain. When the item returned in May, it sold out quickly and caused the company to pull it from menus for about three months until it had enough ingredients for it to return.

Taco Bell said that during its initial run, it sold 20 million Mexican Pizzas across the country, and attributed growth in loyalty membership to customers’ desire for early access to the product.

Sales at Taco Bell locations open at least a year jumped 6% in the third quarter compared to the prior year, according to parent company Yum Brands, which also owns KFC and Pizza Hut.

The Cantina Taco $5 Lunchbox was the greatest thing Taco Bell ever did, ever, in the ever history of Taco Bell.

Amazingly tasty Cantina Taco, Chalupa, Crunchy Taco, Chips N Cheese and a Soda for $5.

Bring that shit back and then i'll be impressed.

Keep trying to push them nasty ass Nacho Fries and they'll continue watching me take my business elsewhere.

Taco Bell's Mexican pizza is one of my favorite fast food items. Of course I can't remember the last time I actually ate any fast food.

I haven’t met a single person who enjoys their nacho fries. Must have a market somewhere to keep bring them back tho.

I like the Mexican Pizza but it’s not my fav. My fav used to be the Gordita Crunch, unfortunately they aren’t as good as they used to be.

The only item from Taco Bell I ever loved was the Southwest Baja Steak Gordita. It was unbelievable. Steak fresh and real pieces of steak, the corn, cilantro, salsa, cheese, lettuce were fresh as hell.

I think they were like $1.99 or $2.49 each in 2004. I would buy 4 or 5 and nothing else.

scho63 12-15-2022 09:23 PM

I've been to Taco Hell maybe 5-6 times in the last 15 years. Do not like.

I remember them having Supreme, Sante Fe, and Baja in the gorditas, before there even was a chalupa, and they were all fine but Sante Fe was the best. It had corn and peppers and cilantro, but there was some kind of a spicy mayo or cream sauce on it. Loved those things

I think you're right. I think I got the name mixed up. That sauce was awesome.

There was even steak juice in the fold it eas so fresh and cooked right.

It was great in the 80s and 90s. Glenn Bell sold them to Pepsi in the late 90s and they started sucking.

They started sucking when they fully implemented K-Minus and Quick Prep in the early to mid 90's.

I live in Tempe but I haven't tried the 12 pretentious taco & tequila places that have popped up on Mill avenue. Those are "concept" chains.

A lot of the small places I used to frequent are gone now. There's a dive called "el Pollo Supremo" I used to dig a lot and they are still open. Mesquite Broiled chicken (and steak), marinated onions and beans, tortillas.

Barrio Cafe is popular with tourists and is pretty good but damn, way overpriced. I like cheap and fresh. Tucson is way better than Phoenix. Carne Seca oddly is only found in Tucson, not Phoenix.
